I say part it for the sole reason that many dsm parts are becoming harder to find and a lot have been discontinued by mitsu. Besides its probably just going to be crushed and I say F that!
I had it welded on my 1g and it had no PS, it sucked real bad in parking lots and at low speed turns it would kind hop or jerk, it was not very enjoyable. But, it did hook a lot better at the track
The only time something like this would be a problem is if the o2 housing ports were smaller then the turbo's ports. I've ran stuff just like this before and just how it is and had no problems
if you read through the whole thread he explains it, its something along the lines that the smaller turbo is actually the force multiplier, all it does is compound whatever air its presented with. im sure it would work the way you have listed but i dont think that it would be efficient
this is also a true statement but the problem with these systems is that they can freeze the maf and screw stuff up. also I have never seen this work on turbo applications. i have seen a kit ran like this on a turbo car that blew the intercooler off and destroyed the turbine wheel when the guy...
Just to be exact, if your standing looking at the engine and the sound is coming from the belt area, that's the left side. I say this because if it's the "right" side of the car it would be the transmission making the noise.I have sprayed some pb blaster on pullies to see if it quiets it down...
if you have the manifolds off then take a strong chain and bolt it on to the studs on the ends of #1 and 4 cylinder on BOTH the exhaust and intake sides of the head, then go get a cherry picker and start jackin it up while hitting the head with a rubber mallet in an upward direction. that should...
If its just bolts it wont be that hard and you can do it yourself, but what you will probably run in to is, when something like that gets bent it tends to tweak other things, like pulls the fenders. if does just unbolt and you can bolt in a new one, pay extra attention to how things line up you...
i ran around for a couple weeks without mine capped and i didnt notice any problems. you should be ok, but i would get a block off plate if you plan on getting rid of the emission
I agree, or you can go with a bosch. i would go with a 1200cc injector but an AFPR is a must.you can reach your goal with some 272's and keep the stock springs, just a thought
i agree with the punishment racing kit, its a good price and kit but you get what you pay for. I have one on my car and the only issue i have is that the BOV rubs the hood very slightly, other than that it is a very good kit and would be ideal for what you have. just my $.02
+2 on the SD. its not that expensive and works AMAZINGLY!!but it depends what your doing with it. from my understanding, lite gives you the ability to tune but its limited, its more for stuff not making that much HP and in pretty much stock form.
looks good! a friend of mine used a brush when he painted the front bumper on his 1g and it turned out really well, there were almost no brush marks. you just have to take your time
it looks like an oil cooler and you could use radiator hose, but i would only do that if you have no other choice, i wouldnt think it would hold up all that long
upon closer inspection, i noticed that the exhaust housing has some cracks in it, can i use the same kind of mitsu exhaust housing or do i need something else?
Has anyone attempted this? i have searched and i saw a couple threads that show you how to rebuild a mitsu turbo and its pretty straight forward. so is this something i can do or do i HAVE to send it to FP?
i have 2 and they have always worked great. as far as accuracy, i hooked up a glowshift boost gauge and an autometer and the glowshift only had about a .5+ psi difference, thats pretty good for a cheap gauge
if you can get an eprom ecu and like djordan said, if the wirinig harness is completely intact its really simple, i just googled "ems install" and went off the aem manuals and if you do the reverse, its something like 3 steps. someone correct me if im wrong, but i would say very simple
