It sounds like your clutch pedal isn't adjusted properly. it's a pain in the neck but you have to keep playing with it until you get it. If the wheels are spinning while the clutch is engaged then it's not disengaging fully, which means it's an adjustment issue. good luck
your best bet is to pull the transmission. sounds like you have loose flywheel bolts. Do not keep starting it and running it like that. you will further damage things and may need a new clutch, if not already. good luck
you can test your alt with a multimeter while the car is running. you want to see 14v. if its a cold/hot problem then i think coryd21 nailed it. electrical problems are a pita. goodluck
you get what you pay for. forged=better than stock under ideal circumstances but like everything it has a breaking point. take care of your car and you will be fine.
sounds like the problem lies within the cable itself if the plate opens smoothly. had a similar problem also...turned out to be the line was frayed inside and causing it to bind. if all else fails replace throttle cable. also you could try taking it off and lubing it with lithium grease and...
dsm is cheaper and easier to fix. That side mounted boxer engine isn't for every joe schmo to work on. the 4g63 on the other hand...the manifold and turbo are staring you dead in your face as soon you pop the hood, more room to work with, and parts are cheaper if you break something. a lot my...
i believe that code is for the fuel pressure solenoid. make sure you reset the computer, ie. unplug the battery or clear the CEL with a scanner, after you install the new one. all the solenoid does is open and close. It allows more fuel when cold(43.5psi) and less when its warmed up(37-38psi)...
sounds like a master/slave cylinder problem. did you adjust the clutch pedal rod correctly? how long has it been like that. any fluid leakage? from experience you would have noticed your clutch giving out on you gradually unless you did a 8000rpm launch at the track. lol seriously though start...
if you are going through all the trouble to take it apart and out. just replace. its a harder job then just popping them out and then in. I find its often easier to buy the spindle with them already pressed in. thats just cause i dont have the proper tools.
its hard to tell what you are talking about from your description, but any loose suspension parts are/could be dangerous. when in doubt, tow it home. health/safety more important.
most FWD'ers, not all, end up swapping or selling for an AWD. Look at the amount of FWD DSMs for sale compared to AWD. AWD rules. just my 0.02$.**edit** Says the man with a front wheel drive civic <------ lol its all what suits you best like said before^. goodluck
-sounds like the IAC sensor which you could try cleaning it but most likely you'll need a new one. unplug and see if it idles up.
-the sending unit in your tank could be bad.
-the stock coolant gauges are in accurate get an aftermarket one.
check spark, fire and air. check firing order. recheck that all vacuum lines are installed, and sensors missed etc. sounds like you crossed the spark plug wires.
well im keeping my civic so its gonna be all track car!! im looking to build it fully with around 500hp starting out and room to work later. Im trying to learn all i can right now. never owned a turbo car before so it should be fun. thanks for the hospitality:)
11's@100mph i dont think so. sounds like a tune problem to me. weather is gonna play a part but not what your describing. like everyone else said upload the log.
as maverick said that doesn't work all the time. i guess its worth a shot and now you know where its at so you can replace it:) be sure to disconnect battery terminals before you do.
yes ACV insurance is a lot. it comes down to whether its worth it to you. I was going to get it for my mustang but when i added it up over the year it was close to how much i was insuring it for. not worth it to me. sorry bout your motor. you didnt hear them? thats crazy....time for an alarm.
do you have the rubber grommet on the cap to the reservoir on? either way you should still get a pedal. sounds like your master cylinder is bad. try bleeding the master cylinder.
hello there. Im from south jersey. I currently don't own a dsm but am in the process of looking for one. I want a 2G, 5sp with 20g setup to start. I currently drive a 07 civic si and plan to keep it as a DD. A couple of my friends have DSM's. a auto 2g with a 20g, 3in exhaust, dsm link, FMIC...
