dsm1kenobe: thanks for your reply. i think im running right on where it needs to be.

im going to fix my datalogger as soon as i get a chance.
i bought the car with a blown motor.
just got it all back together today and took it on a trip to the video store. and this is what the egt gauge was reading. and i couldnt find anything that told what normal egt temps are.
i have tried fixing.
anyway what is the normal range for egt's is what im asking?
at idle they stay in the 900 range and under load seem to go up in the 1200 or higher range.

how much of a pain is it?
i have performed many motor swaps.
auto to manual swaps..
but i have never ventured to the internals on a engine... and im totally spooked by this timing belt thingwhat are my chances of breaking somthing spining it by hand to line everything back up with the belt off?
my balance shaft is fine... the belt is brand new.
all im worried about is getting everything back in time.all this over a freakin idiot i bought my engine from pulling out the oil filter housing bolts except one when he shipped the engine...
i know how to time it...
is there anyway to set the timing marks back on with the timing belt being off the car....

im looking for the easiest way to pull the tranny from my 92 tsi awd.
it has abs.. so im thinking of taking it out the bottom..it has been real easy pulling everything so far... so im just guessing the fun is just starting... :)
thanks for the input guys!
i have seen alot of guys sell theres after the maf conversion.
i thought i would be able to gain something from keeping it though.
i just ordered the maf translator..
my question is should i keep my safc?
do i stand to gain anything from both
or do they do the same thing?

i thought the 18's made it look cool, if i had not sold the laser it was going to get dropped.
it had some wheel gap... not bad though.
i have thought about running 19's on my talon tsi... but everyone is like you will lose performance.... i dont really car... i like my car...
