if you modify the oil flow characteristics of the bearings and crank and make sure the thrust bearing surface is aligned between the two halfs as well as use main dowels to ensure that the main caps cannot shift, you should have "eliminated" cw issue. So far weve built a few 7bolts and none have...
suggest running 20-50 synthetic for hot climates (80-100+ climate).. dont use in cold winter climates use 10-30 or 10-40 during really cold times (20 degrees and below climates)
just a stupid question you have the fans on the bumper side of the radiator right?
next stupid question is your turbo shielded (heat shield or turbo wrap kit installed)
just one more do you know what your exhaust temps are?
check your ignition from the key to the injectors
do you have a turbo timer?
also have you looked into your fuel delivery (fuel pump)
have you replaced your MPI?
Does the engine crank when you put the key in?
zirgo makes nice fans for a little cheaper than Flexalite
Im running 2 12in puller fans on my Fluidyne (had to make custom brackets)
Also try using some water wetter that can keep you water a bit cooler too
dont let someone change something as important as the timing belt unless they have had experience do it on that particular car.-Balance shafts out of alignment
-vibration can also be caused by the tensioner being set way to tight.
-make sure he properly installed the tensioner (compressed...
just make sure you dont handle the bulb part with your fingers as that can lead to premature failure...
I suggest using Silverstars, Koito, PIAA I've had good luck with all these brandsDont get APC!!! Ive tried these several times.. all failed in a month or so -.-;
ok removed the turbo timer harness.. the problem remainsfurther checks
tried another s-afc.. same thing happens
if I disconnect the fuse block next to the battery (contains 4 heavy fuses inline) it cuts power to the s-afc... when I reattach the fuse block the s-afc will remain off until I...
I do have a turbo timer so maybe Ill inspect that..
as far as the s-afc its been in the car for over a year and everything has been working fine this just started out of the blue with no changes to the cars electrical system..
If I leave my car overnight the battery will die. After looking at it briefly I noticed that power to my ecu and s-afc doesnt shut off when I pull the key out.. Can anyone direct me to what might cause this? Any suggestions would help as I dont have a bunch of time to mess around with this...
you shouldnt have metal shavings in the oil pan. A slight metalic filming is acceptable from ring break in however if your engine is properly cleaned before assembly there should be no metal shavings. Metal shaving indicates a problem or misassembly of a specific part.
hope your engine holds up. Just for future note a good rule of thumb is not to blast the cyl. head as the grit is extremely hard to remove; and should definately deck the surfaces of the block and cyl. head so you insure the gasket is getting a uniform press. Out of all the engines I've...
EBC brakes have been known to squeak when new. it usually takes several hundered miles of soft braking before the pads will break in so dont do any high performance stops until they have been broken in.
on a 1g with stock maf and air can; there is a small nipple that comes off the can at about a 45 degree angle on the back side (turbo side). I was wondering what this nipple is suppose to connect to? I haven't been able to find anything concrete about this.
it will suck like all the other F&F movies. They need to make movies a bit more realistic. (ex. Transporter 2 when the car flies through the air into the other parking garage)
I would check the engine if the oil blew through the cap. It sounds kinda like a compression blow by, causing oil to be held in the head without being able to return through the oil return passages. Hopefully this is not the case.
-Ive had a guy come up to me in my TT Supra and tell me what a nice celica it was.
-A guy that had cam gears and a cold air intake in his VW and claimed 500hp
-One guy claimed to have a lancer with a evo engine and drivetrain. (he didnt I checked)
-Another guy tell me in my TT Supra the first...
winter is good. gives people time to finish projects and install new parts. DSM's are kinda like flowers except obiviously way better; they die in the winter but in spring they come back better than ever. :dsm: :talon: :thumb:
using FP big T-28 on 2.4 still building engine. Primarily for street use so we wanted it to spool real quick. Hoping for full spool (25PSI) at 3000 rpm. power band set from 2500-6500 rpm.
are you going to rebuild the 2g head? If you put upgraded cams in you should... You will experience some power loss only because the ports are smaller however the properly ported 2g can out flow the 1g head.
rings installed? timing? spark plugs? correct studs/ head gasket? correct clearances? check these; with 0 across the board should be a pretty easy diagnostic.
the cops are getting really stupid. They are going to keep screwing with the populous until the populous takes the attitude of "why bother even stopping for them. even if Im innocent I'm still going to go to jail". I think we'll be seeing a lot more high speed pursuits in the future. I have no...
hopefully your friend didnt damage the stud, meaning stretching it or anything like that. Also you could probably straighten the ratchet by hitting your friend with it the opposite way it was bent. 90ft-lbs. plz :D

I would go with the aftermarket pulley. The stock 96 pulley will not like that engine. (it's use to seeing around 200hp not the horsepower from the built engine. If nothing else at least get a new factory piece.)its for the same reason you should change the valve springs on a engine if you...
I would turn the boost down some. The engine needs to be broken in a bit before showing its true potenital. You might also think of an ignition (MSD DIS-2 or something like that) you may also want to change the bov so it looks cooler. Sounds like a sweet ride though hope you have fun with it.
give the guy a chance he just got a new ride and is all excited. People come here to learn not get stepped on. leave the blow off valve venting the way it is or get a Type S, the car will run better vented back into intake; also you can take off the intake pipe going to the turbo and cut the...
