I swear there's only like 4 people in lethbridge that drive around in their talon/eclipse' lol amazing how many people ask me what kind of car it is lol ( I drive a 2G eclipse)
Stir of echoes, about half way though when the babysitter takes the kid, Kevin bacon runs out to the street and gets the "red vision flash" a 2g is driving by in the traffic
The spring might be weak and letting the valve open at a certain boost instead of holding it shut. And for the record it's greddy not greedy. Not sure why but I'm always reading people typing greedy lol.
His car is N/A so it will never be under boost....OP, have you checked your fuel filter? Could be numerous factors, dirty fuel filter, dirty air filter, cracked vacuum lines, incorrectly gapped or faulty spark plugs, bad plug wires, bad gas, crud in the tank, dirty injectors, start with basics...
Never assume any shop put in proper parts. Its up to you to ask and make sure. A cheaper aftermarket master can be a night and day difference to OEM.Yes .610 for step. RRE recommends .608 to .610, .612 being stock height.
A non OEM master cylinder could be the culprit of you bought a cheap aftermarket. I bought an exedy master when I bought my exedy clutch, car would go 1/8" off the floor, constant grinding, hard to get in gear, and would drag at 6000rpm. I adjusted everything over and over, bled a thousand...
Punishment racing sells turbo kits with a variety of turbo choices for just under 3k. Kit comes with all hardware, your choice of wastegate, o2 housing, their badass big tube T3 header, oil feed, oil return, gaskets, and mushimoto slim fan. Could be more to the kit, can't fully remember off...
What kind of oil was used? Royal purple is purple in color, maybe it appears somewhat red after a while...I use it but havnt payed too much attention to color after oil change, hard to tell when it's in a dark oil pan...
I would assume you have something to tune with if you have swapped injectors and upgraded turbo??? Just keep an eye on your idc's, keep em around 70%. I'm around 25psi and 71% on my PTE 6235r, flowing around 50lbs/min on my FIC 650's on 94oct pump gas.
You will also notice that 90% of the dealer replaced crank walk issues were done so with less than 60,000 miles. If your crank hasn't walked and your at 100k+, chances are if you have a problem it's not crank walk. It is far more over rated than what everyone thinks.
Your first problem is this -"ok so i ordered a manual boost controller off EBAY"
The NXS MBC from eBay is more than proving. Works as well if not better than a lot of these $70+ ones.
^^^+100, the Delta cams are almost exact duplicates of the hks 272's at a fraction the price wich is why they call em DKS 272's. Lots of people run em, good choice of you want the hks cams.
Don't let the jabber of crank walk get into your head. Any vehicle can crank walk, you have the same chance of winning the lottery as you do getting crank walk. It's an overrated term used when dumb kids blow up their motors. I'd say probably 98% of the time kids say their motor crank walked...
Real deal says "designed and manufactured in Australia" on the cap, knock offs tend to spell it wrong. Ask seller if they are real or knockoff in an email so you have a paper trail. If they reply with "real", buy one, when you get it, call in the serial #'s to turbosmart, they will tell you if...
Wich indicates you needed to resurface your flywheel with proper spec step for the pressure plate and disc you had on. Your stock flywheel is setup for your stock pressure plate and disc, glad you solved it tho. Cheers
I had a hell of a time shifting and getting into gear after a clutch install. I put in an exedy clutch with an exedy master cylinder. I bought an OEM master and all my shifting problems disappeared. The price of aftermarket master cylinders are really pleasing but you definitely benefit from...
Change master and slave with OEM, bleed, bleed some more, bleed again. Make sure tranny is tightly bolted on as well. Check bushings both under the shifter and at shifter linkage where it connects to tranny. Make sure clutch fork isn't bent and is in proper position. Did you resurface your...
If you port the 2g manifold to 7cm (or to match your hotside) and shave off some of the "lip" in the collector it should meet your needs. The 2g Mani flows pretty well. I ported my 2g mani with my 57trim and was pretty happy with it, and the best part is you can still use your factory heat...
If its not completely clear how to hook up the line from turbo to wastegate, here's a lil diagram I dug up, ignore the "boost dial" in the middle of the line lol...
OP, forget all this bs about your bov, your bov has nothing to do with boost spike, a crap bov will leak air causing little to no boost bein made. Like stated earlier, check lines for split, check actuator, run a line from the turbo to the wastegate bypassing the boost control solenoid. And for...
Check your lines running to your waste gate. If there is a split in it it can cause uncontrolled boost. With the t25 being small and inefficient, it's possible the spike is the uncontrolled boost and it bleeds off because the turbo can't handle maintaining that boost level so it falls off. Also...
I bought the greddy to Tial flange when I got my tial Q, not a chance in hell of closing the hood. When I had my type rs the adjustment screw ground a hole into the underside of my hood as it was rubbing. The flange adds almost another inch to the height. I just went to a welding shop, had them...
I ran a tial 38mm mvs with my 57 trim and it was a nightmare. Springs and diaphragm were constantly failing. I replaced the melted springs 4 times in less than 2000 miles. I finally sold it with a blown diaphragm amd melted springs with a punishment o2 housing for dirt cheap and opted for the...
Punishment racing big tube T3 manifold. I have one on my 6235 (pte 6262 mated with a gt35r turbine) with a pte46mm gate and love it. The manifold is bad ass
^
That's why he's the turbo guru! As Justin listed, there are a ton of options out there, you just have to choose based on what your goals are. Remember also, get something with room to grow so you don't have to buy a bunch of different turbos as I'm sure once you step up from the T25 the hp big...
Bov is bad idea, leave this line dedicated to the bov. As Brian stated, use the FPR line and T off that, or if you are in a bind you can use the "P" line on your throttle body.
Looks like stock 2g cams and small 16g. To be sure for the cams, look at the the first journal on the cam, the thrust ring will have an engraving on it like 1tx-272(if they are 272's) Kelford marks every set of cams there.
Mine does this as well, it's something to do with my power steering because when I turn the wheel the tone and sound changes louder/quieter, it eventually goes away after a few min. It's gotta be around 0* for it to happen to me, or a colder rainy day.
Go to a walmart or anything with automotive and pick up a 12volt power adapter for like $10, then you can plug it into your cigarette lighter and plug your laptop in so it won't die
I agree with this, I have a pte .82ar housing used on my 6235 and an unknown cast bolt on .63ar housing that was used on my turbonetics 57 trim and the 63 is way bigger than the 82, I was a little baffled when I first received it as to why it appeared so much smaller than the .63ar, now I know why.
I would probably say to bump it up to a .82ar hotside, will give you room to grow and will easily meet your needs. I have a 97 gst with the set up from punishment I spoke of above with a 82ar and I see full spool in 3rd at just over 4400rpm @25psi. It provides perfect lag for fwd. Shoot Tim am...
Just because you it is rated for 680hp doesn't automatically mean that's what you will make as I'm sure you are aware. The 6262 is rated at 705hp (for the BB version). The 6262 will be more laggy than the 6235. I am running a punishment racing 3" o2 housing, and big tube manifold. (I bought the...
The 6235 is on pte site, click on aftermarket (thumbnail of a mustang) its at the bottom, you can also ask Tim at punishment racing, that's where ingot mine, any vendor that supplies pte turbos can get it. There's not a tonne of info on them because a lot of people don't know about it, most go...
I personally went with PTE 6235r wich is basically a BB 6262 mated with a gt35r turbine, end result being a billet wheel turbo that packs the punch of a 6262 but has spool of a 35r, 680hp capable turbo. I love it, 4400rpm full spool @25psi for me. At 25psi the turbo is barely starting to come...
