That rusted shell isnt a ducati. That looks like a ### frame. Seems everyone has a ### bike. I no longer own my dsm thats why i no longer also own a r6. I now have a ducati 996 as seen in the matrix.
that is the stupidiest ricest idea ever. so useless. if i remeber correctly from the gsx it had a tow hook under the driver side and one under the passenger side for flat beds. you DONT YANK A CAR ON A FLATBED FROM THE CONTROL ARMS. i've always wanted to yank a honda from those stupid jdm tow...
the dumbest thing wasnt about a dsm. it was an old porsche 924 and he tried to tell me it was turbo because his mommy bought him a car manual for it and it said turbo on it. even though i tried to tell him theres no turbo on the car. he then tried telling us you can switch the turbo on with a...
hmm well i got them with the rods and bearings all put together. so i just flip the whole thing around then so the smaller cuts in the piston needs to be on the intake side.
So i bought a one owner automatic red gst 2 months ago. one owner, completley stock it hit 121k and the belt snapped. previous owner took it to a shop and they put a new belt on but didnt realize the valves where gone. i bought it towed it back to my uncles shop and used our snap on video camera...
okay they finally came in. im dropping these into my 95 gst. these also came with bearings but i bought acl race bearings. should i put the acls or keep the stock mitsu bearings on this? also the pistons are stamped with the number 63te8. i read somewhere that my compression will now change?
Just got a new dsm. its a auto gst. 121k Not running now so idk what condition the tranny is in. But the fluid looks clean, not like changed clean but its not burnt or anything. How much power can these safely do? Do they stand up to abuse at all? Also what fluid should i use if i change it? Thanks
haha i apologize again. i forgot to tell you that my timing belt broke on my gst and pistons 2 and 3 are pretty banged up. thats why im getting new pistons and rods. and new stock pistons from the dealer and some sites are pretty expensive and someone offered me a great price on some evo 8 new...
I apologize if i didnt search that long for this topic. I want to purchase oem evo 8 pistons and rods with rings to drop into my 95 7 bolt. Possible? Im not aiming for any high power gains or racing. The car is automatic so the most that im going to do to it is bolt on mods and raise the boost...
i am tomorrow. i already ordered all the valvetrain parts and timing componets. didnt order any pistons or rods yet but i got a lot of messages on here with from ppl willing to sell used 2g pistons and rods and some evo 8 pistons/rods too
my gsx did this, i changed the coil pack and bang it was fine for like idk 100 miles then bang coil pack was toast. switched over to a single coil for every cylinder and it was fine.
i took out the plugs and noticed a couple things with my snap on camera. pistons are destroyed. so i now need 4 pistons and rings, some rods, i guess valves and valve guides and timing componets.
im going down now to pick it up, one owner 121k adult driven, always maintained except for the fact he failed to do a belt when it hit 120k. even has original radio and leather interior. and wheels. so i have my eyes on a head on ebay.
great, i was planning on buying the car since it was completley stock and just either putting a used head on it and drive it. im not at all planning on building it
yea the guy just told me when the belt snapped they put a new one on and when they turned it on they realized that it had bent valves. im a bit worried now about the pistons. i didnt think of that. what are the chances?
Picking up a 95 with bent valves. Snapped timing belt. They replaced belt and noticed that it had bent valves. I was thinking of getting another head. Ive done a head gasket on my gsx so i figured might as well do heads but i figured it would be cheaper to just do the valves and retainers...
my 91 i bought with 140ish and in 9 months when i stopped driving it i had put 30k-35k i dont remeber much but it was close to hitting 190k. i did have to change the alternator 3 times though.
yea sure my stock block i was pushing almost 300 we took it apart and pistons 3 and 4 the rings are like gone and the bearings. needs a whole rebuild might as well put a forged bottom end in sell the stock parts
yea i just joined a porsce forum. you never pop the clutch on an na it always destroys the ring gear. which seems to have happened on this one. appearently i can change the tranny in under 3 hours. very easy job i guess
yup and the clutch is in there in the back. now i gotta figure out what broke inside or just call up a junkyard and get one.im thinking i should get a lightweight flywheel too might as well. since that'll be easy to do.
pics in 2 days. i think it is too. crap i totally forgot it. he launched it at 3 grand and then it didnt move anymore. im gonna put my recaros in it. its gonna be sweet. its non turbo. turbo has 220hp non turbo is 175hp. id rather stay non turbo and have a nice car to drive around
doesnt matter 2ga 2gb hudahfadfhadjh or if its a ferrari brake jobs are simple. Theres no need to explain this at all. The only way your going to learn is if you take your tool box and go outside and no one here tells you how to do it. Thats how i learned at my uncles shop. "Here change the...
well if the new water pump has metal fins then ## good, so say u hit a bump and they end up in the new water pump well maybe theyll just get stuck and urll hear a weird noise and take it home and pull of the pump and bingo there are the old fins. bad thing is urll need a new water pump but hey...
A big shop vac and an air compressor and hmmmm your screwed, try blowing air in from the the inlet on the tranny side and then put the shop vac on reverse to suck from the water pump side. that should do it, if now idk they could be jammed in the head or in the water ports in the block but those...
Yup so i took it apart because it was leaking fluid from the bell housing. Which was the seal between the torque converter and tranny. But while i was taking it out it cracked on top. I looked around for a tranny and tehre 700 and up. I just want to drive this car again. I figured i could weld...
