Great advice guys. I'll follow it. So on my part I just need to take initiative on buying the fittings, then finding a hydraulic store to make the lines.?
I'm wondering what will be cheaper?I want to get ss lines for oil return and feed. Eventually fuel also.If making my own will be cheaper what size ss line should I get and how much length for each? Also what fittings? runnnig 14b for now. all on a 90 awd.oil feed/oil return
I got a ported 2g o2 housing and manifold to suit my budget until I throw a huge turbo on. As of right now I'm just gonna port the hell out of the 14b and get the supporting mods.Anyway, I might just get the ebay downpipe and testpipe if I can't get any reviews by tomorrow. And end up...
I'm going 3" turbo back.I was looking at the downpipe first and was wondering what y'all would recommend.Ebay dp:
eBay Motors: Eclipse Talon 1G 89-94 GSX Downpipe Down Pipe (item 320256672718 end time Jun-02-08 17:24:06 PDT)or Megan racing dp from punishment racing:BlankOnly...
Got it, thanks everyone. Any suggestions on what to do to beefen up my 90 tranny? I hear the synchrose are single, etc.I plan on replacing all the seals- rear main seal, transfer case, etc.
That's the part I don't get, and it's mainly because I don't have the experience. But how exactly do I slide the trasmission over? Is it really that easy to move once everything is d/c?Seriously?
Well I'm gonna end up having to drop the tranny in a month so in the mean time I've been reading the manual and searching on a good clutch setup. I'm gonna get the SBE kevlar disc with a act 2600 pressure plate, good choice for a 400 whp car no?I'm a former fwd owner and haven't dealt with...
They told me they have a machine that opens up pipes, only problem is that cats outlets are delicate so their is a risk of it breaking. Oh well, just need to find a high flow cat now or even a stock one for now.
Old thread, but when someone swaps a 14b onto their 2g they should really consider porting. What I'm wondering is, is if they can re-use they're stock turbo to manifold gasket and open it up a little to match the port job on the turbo and mani...???
Well since you are not going OEM because you want luxury like the BMW or Mercedes, I'd suggest you hit up some vendors and do some window shopping.I see you just got out of debt, jnz tuning offers financing if that helps any.
I don't mean to bring an old thread to life but searches leaves questions unsanswered. In bold, what does that mean if you see white foam go by? I'm not sure if I see foam or if that's just refigerant going through. I checked the refigerant level at the low port and gauge says I'm good but...
With the car on and ac on full blast it was cold when I bought it, ice cold. But after 2 days of driving it slowly went away. I checked the sight glass again with the car and ac on, and I saw white foam in the sight glass, according to the manual if I see white in the sight glass I'm low. Well I...
I got the wires ripped off the coolant temperature sensor, right at the plug.any way to repair it? can I take the plugs out and put new ones in with a pig tail or just hit up a dealer?
Just wondering, ssautochrome doesn't make this 3" tbe for the 1g awd? Searched up and down and couldn't find anything.Shoot would your 2g tbe fit on my 1g?
Just wondering if the guys at the muffler shop will have a hard time making 3" piping onto a cat converter that has a 2.5" outlet...anyone know a ball park price on what they will charge? coming from experience. I can't drive to the shop unless I know I can afford it, I'm running open...
Weird, after car has been sitting for a week the pop ups were down, but after starting it today it changed.Lights pop up, they both work, but when I turn it off the passenger one goes down but the drivers side doesn't. Lights are off too btw.Any tips? I read bad motor/relay/etc.On a 90
^First test:
Have a friend untwist the gas cap and listen inside while you turn the key to the on position, if your friend hears whirling your fuel pump is working. If not go to step 2.Step two:
Test to see if you're getting voltage at the pump. This can be done under the hood next to...
Bought a 90 talon awd for 800 bucks. Bone stock and lady driven, interior is freakin nice. She just paid 450 for brand new tires all the way around also, new battery, new spark plugs, and oil changed. All professionally done.So I pretty much paid for a tune up.
:(It took awhile but I accepted the fact my ecu is to blame. It's a 90 eprom for an awd plus it's a cali one too. So I don't think I'll find another one soon.I'll be sending it off to you via 2nd day Monday morning for repair.
Looks really good, well done on the install. Are you planning on upgrading the intake? 2g mas or gm maf setup in the future? Is that a ported 2g manifold and o2 housing btw?
Grounded and 63 and 66 from the harness side, mpi contact closed. Ecu ftl...I know you said the mpi and fuel pump are independent, but when I'm trying to start it both relays should close right? just to make sure my ecu is messed up.
did a relay test with jumper wires and volt/ohm meter. relay passed the test but only the 4 pin connector side closed when the relay was energized. Is that normal? Or should both relays have clicked closed?
K, so hopefully that was the problem. It wasn't that bad, cleaned up a little bit with a q-tip.Can I take this to a computer shop to have it repaired? I see you can buy these SMD capacitors pretty cheap and are local.
Oh I see what's missing, I looked at vfaq and noticed the capacitor replacement tech. Saw a pic then compared, his pics are more clearer so I can use his for example:That's what's missing, I'm guessing they are micro fuses? (circled in red) Don't know how they blew but looks...
Here are the pics of the ecu, I noticed that their were some burn marks, maybe why my MPI relay isn't working right. Sorry about the quality, light sucks and so does the camera.BACK SIDEOVERVIEW OF BOARDBURN MARKSCLOSE UPIf you need the numbers where the...
What do you mean?btw, I did notice that in every test except the test with the mpi relay out the mpi relay was getting voltage. And you said it's not supposed to. Does that mean it's not grounding?I tried to open the ECU but the screws are in their tough, I'll try again and post a pic...
