Something else I need to take into consideration is its local. If I find a nice GST or GSX what are the odds of it being local? Cause the cost of transportation/gas might take it higher than I can afford. $4000 is the absolute most I can afford, not including tax, title, and licensing.Sorry...
I have been in need of a daily driver for the last couple weeks, BAD. I want a dsm because i'm comfortable with them. The problem is finding one in good condition for relatively cheap. I finally found one but I dont know if I should jump on it or not. I've already seen the car in person and...
Cause 3k seems a little steep when I might be able to find a GST for that or close to it. Granted the GST probably wouldn't be in that good of condition if it was going for $3000-$4000?

Hey fellas. I recently bought a FMIC for my 2G, but due to financial struggles i need to get it moved. I commute from the Salt Lake area to Ogden, and everywhere in between on a daily basis. I could easily drop it off, or travel further if needs be. Heres a link to the item...DSM...
Either build a tranny to prevent grenading, or wait for the aftermath and rebuild. Our center diffs are definitely a weak leak, but a 4 spider or welded diff can change that...as you've already mentioned. I'll look into the torque numbers you requested.
To answer your question...the main factor is cost. MBC are normally a much cheaper avenue than electronic controllers. If your worried about boost adjustments from the cabin...get a Hallman Evolution controller with the cockpit cable. I've seen them in person...pretty nifty.
Nope, you might run the risk of throwing a cel...plus passing emissions might become more difficult. These links might help...http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/309683-removing-vaccum-lines.htmlhttp://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bolt-tech/131626-vaccum-lines-eliminated.html...
btw...oldman had a good point, insulate your dash. It doesn't have to be ghetto rigged with duck tape, thats only one option. Try some deadening mat but be prepared to pay
I'd do exactly what you suggested in your OP. The front and rear mounts are the ones really necessary to stop the engine motion during shifts. Those are the ones that improved your shifter feel. Poly side mounts wont really help a thing other than transfer unnecessary vibrations through the...
Use vinyl dye, it'll stand up to the elements better than paint...but prep work is the most important part. Clean the area well with a harsh cleaner like mineral spirits or sem. Paint it to look stock or black. Rice colored panels are out...actually, they were never "in" for me.
If the wiring harness is a rats nest, the stock plugs have been pulled, and/or color charts aren't helping...pair like wires, and touch them to the + and - on a AA battery. You'll hear the speaker oscillate. If it doesn't, test each wire against the rest till you find each pair. It sucks, but...
speaking of painted pieces...It looks real classy when people powdercoat their valvecovers, and their CAS to match. I've only seen a few, if you guys know those pics are at....post up. Cause i've lost them
should be assuming you have all the necessary supporting mods. If not, your grocery list is gonna be ALOT longer than that. Especially if you want 400-600 hp.Fuel pump
pump rewire
FPR
bigger supply line
bigger injectors
internals
some type of datalogger
larger exhaust
intercooler
BOV
boost...
Well lets narrow the hunt first...does it shake when your on the throttle or anytime your in motion? (at speed that is) If its all the time when at speed, it probably has to do with your suspension. A simple fix being an alignment, or possibly a more technical suspension component.Or is...
As long as you like it than sweet! But it doesn't exactly pitch my tent, it reminds me of when people fiberglass their license plates at an angle....slit wrists now. Although i do like how its matte black...
Good god...your gonna have more problems than just clearance issues if your wheels are 16 feet tall! ROFLBut to answer your question...16" wheels fit perfectly fine with GSX brakes. You should have plenty of clearance. Some have even sported 15's with no problems, although i wouldn't...
Here is the link as promised... :hellyeah:http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/appearance-interior-exterior/22222-s-afc-mounting.htmlScroll down to post #18 and PM him. His name is NatesEclipseGST
Apparently oil pumps are a tender subject over there. ROFLAgreed...The sad part is the only information that has been gathered seems to be based of the experiences and/or opinions of others. More of a he said, she said, situation.
I suggest you make your own downpipe. It'll be cheaper than the alternative. Drop your old one, buy whatever size tubing you want with some flanges, and take it all to an exhaust shop. Tell them to replicate the bends, weld in the stock cat and flanges and your off.
I have no personal experience with them, but here's a link i pulled off DSMtalk. :toobad:Melling Oil Pumps - Junk! - DSM Forums: Mitsubishi Eclipse, Plymouth Laser, and Eagle Talon Forum: DSMtalk.comYou weren't kidding...there is no info out there on these.
If they come off a dsm...they will fit on an dsm.The only things you really need to worry about are bolt pattern, which is 114.3, offset, and size. (diameter and width) DSM's can fit up to 19's or 20's, although i dont know why you'd want them. And i think 8.5 is the biggest width i've...
You can mount it anywhere but im a fan of the more sleek/custom installs. My favorite on a 1G is in the vent bezel or in the stereo din. I'll see if i cant scrounge up some pics.
Another thought...Romeen, Anthony, Calan, and others have looked into the differences between intake vacuum and atmospheric pressure. I've searched for the results, but have found nothing.Reason i bring it up, is cause lets say you have your boost set to 20psi. If your pulling air from...
I read through this thread a while back but decided to brush up on it, and after reading it again i caught some flaws i didn't in the past. Below is a poor illustration of a closed loop pcv system with 2 catch cans, but bear with me.If i'm correct, the system is supposed to draw air out of...
It doesn't list what material it is made out of, which makes comparison kind of difficult. But i would assume as long as it is a quality fiberglass or polyurethane, you wouldn't be able to tell a difference. If your curious about the actual shape, i'd be willing to bet they took a mold of an...
To keep this as simple as possible.... forget the wire colors. Your best bet is to check by the speakers oscillation. This is a simple way of figuring out whether the polarities are hooked up correctly or not.1) First you'll need to make a little tool. Attach two wires to a AA...
First of all i'd check your glovebox for the original owners manual. If you still have that, your stereo's code will be in the first few pages, atleast most are.Generally speaking, most dealerships will make you pay for these codes because they're generally the only ones who have them...
ha, i thought it was an external oil cooler. So from the sounds of it, the air box will be sealed! :thumb: You had me worried for a little bit.
I like the sounds of it being ceramic coated, but wont the aluminum sheet metal have too much flex between the bracing? Cracks and whatnot
