Just because your dip stick blows out Does Not mean you have blow by. The rubber or plastic on the dip stick can get worn causing it to be looser in the dipstick tube and will blow out.
! 14b is a good turbo, spools quick, just like the 16g. The 16g might spool slightly slower, maybe not even enough to notice. I would go with a 16g. It will have more top end, and you will make more power. I think if you get a 14b now, you will want a 16g eventually. Great turbo.
Not a Dsmer butI was getting some professional pictures taken, he asked about the car and he asked me if I had -one of those pop off turbos-! I was speechless.
1980 camaro(350, exhaust) sold
1991 talon TSI fwd, fully built myself, sold a few months ago.
1990 Mitsubishi eclipse GSX, building in process, IT WILL BE DONE SOON!!
1992 Jeep comanche 4x4. Daily driver.
I would go with Kelford 272 cams. They have been proven on a lot of setups to make the most power. The Fidanza 4.3 clutch kit is also nice, I have had great luck with it. The Evo3 16g would also be good for your setup.
Their re obviously not E-85 pump's everywhere, also can clog injectors. The fuel DOES make great power and tons of people are running it and having great success.
Get the ARP"s. It will be a lot better and you will also feel a lot better knowing you have them for insurance. Plus in the future, Im sure you will upgrade your turbo, and run higher boost than you plan on now. Do it right.
Wipe everything down around where it was leaking and pressure test the system, when you get pressure in the system, it should leak out. Do this with the car not running obviously. Just remove the radiator cap, pump the tester and there you go! But first you need a tester. Good luck.
I would sell the n/t and get a GSX or GST, and spend the extra 500 towards one. Unless you definitely want to keep your car, i would get cams. It would just be easier to start with a turbo car.
Don't get a knock off 16g. Get the real thing. As soon as you put a ebay 16g on the car, you will be wishing you had the real deal. Save a little money and get the real thing. It will make you feel a lot better knowing you have the real deal.
Back to the transmission topic, I took mine to TRE, and got a Stage 4 for a good price. John, who works there, is a very cool guy to talk to. I couldn't begin to tell you how intelligent I think he is. You will see what I mean if you talk to him. He will fix you up.
I ran a 2g maf on my 1990. It worked fine for me. I just have recently switched to a evo 8 maf, do to bigger turbo setup, but yes it did work fine for me.
Shifting at 6,500 seems about right being a 14b and a relatively stock car, just don't slip the clutch as much. It just takes some practice, you will get it.
