I changed the upper and lower radiator hoses on my car, and i need to change the two heater hoses too, the ones that go from the firewall to the block. My question is, are there any other coolant hoses? And if so where are they.
Does backfiring do any real damge? I notice it sometimes when my bov is vented, but it is not a real loud backfire, you cant even hear it when the music is up a little. Is it normal to backfire if running a vented bov?
I tried recirculating my hkss with a 1" ID tube, but when test driving it the car would not boost more than like 9 pounds and the bov made NO sound at all. Does it matter what type of material you use for the recirculation hose? I could not find a 1" ID radiator hose from autozone, carquest...
My temperature gauge reads a little below the middle of the gauge. I was looking at my radiator and I found a small hairline crack. I sealed it up with this "putty" type welding compund. A friend told me the reason it was boiling was because it had something to do with pressure building up...
Coolant keeps coming out of my dump tube of the reservoir bottle. it doesnt matter if I run the car hard or not, and it usually will only do it on a hot day. The radiator light then comes on, so I add coolant and later that day it all comes out of the dump tube again. I can also hear the coolant...
Is it normal that my 1g will only shift into first when I am practically at a complete stop? When coming to a stop light or something I cannot put my car into 1st until its at about 5 mph or less. My car is pretty much stock except for a shot shifter and stiffer bushings. Is this normal or is...
I figured I had to just get a longer hose, but on the directions for installing the recirculation fitting it says attach the 1" ID hose between the fitting and the suction pipe. Is the suction pipe a different kind of hose?
I have the recirculation fitting for the SSQV, but how do I hook it up so it will recirculate properly? The hose the runs back into the intake stream is not long enough.
These cars do not have serpentine belts they have timing belts. The difference is that serpentint belts are generally on every pully, while the timing belt is only on a couple of pullys like the cam-pullys. V-belts are used to spin the remaining pullys (water pump, air conditioner, power steering).
If you dont want to vent to the atmosphere then you can get the recirculation kit. There is sound difference, it's different but I still like it. Still, when venting to the atmosphere I hardly run rich. Your car might be different though.
Personally I have the HKS SSQV and I think its the best on the market. I vent to atmosphere and my car runs great with no problem, which is due to the design of the valve which is not to leak. It also sounds more like a high pitched whistle rather than a swoosh. If you want a great valve that...
First off SIUEclipse has a non turbo. You defiantley do not want a 3" exhaust system. The largest you should go with is 2.5" As far as brands buschur or Thermal R&D would be good choices.
There are 3 vaccuum hoses at the top of the throttle body. If you disconnect the middle hose your tubo will not spool up. This is the way I get my car to pass emissions.
After driving my car for around 15 minutes i can smell something burning. When i inspect it seems to come somewhere near the air conditionong compressor. I found little pieces of burnt up somehting, but i have no idea why this is happening and what is burning. The temp. level is ok and i have...
I am not quite sure how I am supposed to attach the HKS Valve to HKS
flange. When I bought the valve it came witha c-clip and the directions say to just attach the valve to the flange utilizing the c-clip. I dont see how the clip is going to hold the valve to the flange securely. Any input is...
