S256 was a great turbo for me. Took a crazy beating and never missed a beat. Check out my dyno sheet <<<

    1600cc injectors

I had a set, tuned with ecmlink v3 on E85 and Speed density. I didnt use the easy tune box. Driveability wasnt real great for cruising around. I cant remember the exact rpm, but when cruising the car would kind of surge. There is no way to tune that out, its just a flaw in the injector. Id save...

2012 DSM Shootout Road Cruise Saturday. Be There!

OK, I am proposing a new event at the SO, an unofficial event to take place on Saturday evening during the SO called the parade of DSMs. It is very common for other car clubs (Nissans, Supras, etc) to take a public road cruise at some time during their events. I propose we do something similar...

    Ostar Motorsports DSM Pre-Shootout Dyno

Its nice having pistons that will let you crank the timing up instead of those fragile stockers ;)

    un-sprung clutch disk

I had an act 2900 solid 6 puck in my car. Loved the thing! If you slip it a little too much leaving a light it will chatter, but once you get the feel for it its not a problem. I love how connected the drive train feels to the engine without the springs.

    Destroyed Valves???

Here is how you trash a set of valves...You may just need to bleed your lifters.

    '90gsx rebuild, need opinions

My car made 461awhp, and my intentions were to build it for autocross. Take it from me, that much power is WAY overkill for an auto-x car. If you want to autocross these cars, put a 14b or 16g on it so you have response in the lower rpm range. Any turbo capable of 450whp will spool way too late...

    Which built trans to choose??

All of the "built" trannies are basically the same. They are all built out of OEM parts (unless you get a PPG dog box from shep). They might modify things, add spider gears to the center diff, ect. but when you get down to it its all oem stuff. Pick a shop, send it to them, and tell them to fix...

    90 transmission into a 93 awd talon??

The 90 shifter assembly IS different. You will need 90 shifter assembly and cables for it to work properly.

introducing my self wanting to make my name

600whp is nothing new in the dsm world. Get a stock 6 bolt engine, put some cams in it, and bolt a big turbo on with supporting mods. Then go break some drivetrain parts. Good Luck!

    Crankwalked, transferring internals

The rods won't work. The pistons will if they are still in good shape. The new block will need to be machined for the pistons, and you will need new rings.

    Damaged Wiseco Pistons (Not Pretty)

After seeing this thread I got curious. Went out to the garage and looked at the standard wiseco's I pulled out of my pile. What do you know? I had stress cracks in all 4 of my pistons in the same spots as the OP. To be fair though, I am almost certain my piston to wall clearance was incorrect...

    My motor has been destroyed....

WTFNo oil would cause spun bearings and tossed rods. Not a dropped valve :banghead: Valves ride in the guides dry all the time. Thats why you have valve seals... to keep the oil from going down the valves and burning....

    s256 Questions?!!!!

Not sure of the date honestly. Early July. It was around 85-90 out and sunny. I was on crap tires and not getting good 60ft times. The boost was around 28psi because at the time I was having ignition problems. Tune was aggressive like always :sneaky:The car was definitely not making the...

    s256 Questions?!!!!

I have my MVS wastegate set for 1.4 bar (~20psi) and I am using a Buschur inline boost controller to get it up to ~32psi+ from there. This turbo really comes alive after 30psi. Resolved 1G Cam moves loosely?

You have some bent intake valves. It turns real easy because some of the rockers aren't touching the cam lobes anymore. Take your valve cover off and look and you will see what I mean.
  35. cyclonekid77

    Head rebuild help

You just have to take the valves out and look at the guides. If they are cracked you need to replace them.

Not too bad for an Auto-X car

Thanks man, I definitely think the car is capable of a 10 second pass :cool:Thanks man! I tried to build the car as clean as I could. It has some issues that need worked out for sure. The tires are a big issue ROFL I want to see that 9 second pass on your stock block!

Is this cam ok to use?

I just had the same thing happen to my cams. They weren't quite that bad but almost all of my lobes had small gouges. I took them to a local and very experienced engine builder and this is what we did.Diamond file the gouge to get rid of any high spotsCheck for high spots on the lobe by...

Did your ACT clutch fail on you? If so, post here

If it makes you feel any better, Im running a ACT 2600 kit in my car that was manufactured in 04 LOL So far so good. The clutch has been in 3 different cars now and has a total of maybe 4000 miles on it. If it survives until the winter it will be getting replaced by a south bend setup.

Did your ACT clutch fail on you? If so, post here

How many miles were on it? What alot of people don't realize is these performance clutches are only designed to be used for 10,000 miles in a street/strip car.

Should I go with twin disc clutch?

Im running an S256 on my car rite now. Im also using a ACT 2600 clutch with a street disc. The manufacture date on the pressure plate is from 04 haha.
