Saw this trailor on youtube, guy made a full length hd video from this years shootout. Looks pretty good, figured I would share this incase anybody else wants to check it out.My DSM Experience 2013 Trailer - YouTube
I had a set, tuned with ecmlink v3 on E85 and Speed density. I didnt use the easy tune box. Driveability wasnt real great for cruising around. I cant remember the exact rpm, but when cruising the car would kind of surge. There is no way to tune that out, its just a flaw in the injector. Id save...
OK, I am proposing a new event at the SO, an unofficial event to take place on Saturday evening during the SO called the parade of DSMs. It is very common for other car clubs (Nissans, Supras, etc) to take a public road cruise at some time during their events. I propose we do something similar...
I had an act 2900 solid 6 puck in my car. Loved the thing! If you slip it a little too much leaving a light it will chatter, but once you get the feel for it its not a problem. I love how connected the drive train feels to the engine without the springs.
My car made 461awhp, and my intentions were to build it for autocross. Take it from me, that much power is WAY overkill for an auto-x car. If you want to autocross these cars, put a 14b or 16g on it so you have response in the lower rpm range. Any turbo capable of 450whp will spool way too late...
All of the "built" trannies are basically the same. They are all built out of OEM parts (unless you get a PPG dog box from shep). They might modify things, add spider gears to the center diff, ect. but when you get down to it its all oem stuff. Pick a shop, send it to them, and tell them to fix...
You can check out my dyno graph in my profile. I was on a s256 with extended tips and E85. Dyno was Dave Buschur's mustang dyno. If you have any questions pm me and I would be glad to help.
600whp is nothing new in the dsm world. Get a stock 6 bolt engine, put some cams in it, and bolt a big turbo on with supporting mods. Then go break some drivetrain parts. Good Luck!
The rods won't work. The pistons will if they are still in good shape. The new block will need to be machined for the pistons, and you will need new rings.
Hey guys, I need to roll the fenders on the Miata I am going to autocross this summer. I am looking for something like this Fender Roller Tool, Fender Rolling Tool For Sale With How To & DIY Instructions If somebody has one I can borrow or rent that would be awesome. You can check out my...
After seeing this thread I got curious. Went out to the garage and looked at the standard wiseco's I pulled out of my pile. What do you know? I had stress cracks in all 4 of my pistons in the same spots as the OP. To be fair though, I am almost certain my piston to wall clearance was incorrect...
WTFNo oil would cause spun bearings and tossed rods. Not a dropped valve :banghead: Valves ride in the guides dry all the time. Thats why you have valve seals... to keep the oil from going down the valves and burning....
This year was my 4th time going to the shootout and the 3rd time ive raced at the event and it was another GREAT weekend!Friday I drove up to Buschur's and hopped on the dyno. I was the second car on the dyno and here was my results.461awhp

Not sure of the date honestly. Early July. It was around 85-90 out and sunny. I was on crap tires and not getting good 60ft times. The boost was around 28psi because at the time I was having ignition problems. Tune was aggressive like always :sneaky:The car was definitely not making the...
I have my MVS wastegate set for 1.4 bar (~20psi) and I am using a Buschur inline boost controller to get it up to ~32psi+ from there. This turbo really comes alive after 30psi. Rite now I am having a problem with the boost tapering off as I go threw the pull. I start out at 35psi and buy 8k its...
1. What fuel are you going to be running. I have 1600cc injectors and im seeing about 80%idc on E852. Feed from OFH, no restrictor unless pressure higher than 100psi. I have the extremepsi feed kit it works great3. Filter is not a bad idea I am running the earls.4. I am using the...
I was with Jim at the meet! We drove my laser to philly from norwalk. I remember meeting you :)Thanks Glenn! I know the welds could be better. At this point I had been welding for 3 months or so, all self taught, and this was probably my 5th or 6th welding project. I like projects like this...
You have some bent intake valves. It turns real easy because some of the rockers aren't touching the cam lobes anymore. Take your valve cover off and look and you will see what I mean.
Thanks man, I definitely think the car is capable of a 10 second pass :cool:Thanks man! I tried to build the car as clean as I could. It has some issues that need worked out for sure. The tires are a big issue ROFL I want to see that 9 second pass on your stock block!
I just had the same thing happen to my cams. They weren't quite that bad but almost all of my lobes had small gouges. I took them to a local and very experienced engine builder and this is what we did.Diamond file the gouge to get rid of any high spotsCheck for high spots on the lobe by...
And they guy that says that performance clutches last only 10,000 miles needs to get a red chicklet. That guy is me.Read #5 in the second section

I went to the track today to see what the eclipse could do. I built the car mostly for auto-x and road racing, but I was bored and wanted to see what she could do.My first pass was slow

Don't take this the wrong way, but what is there to gain from doing this? An evo 3 16g bolts rite on and will make the same power as that turbo.:idontknow:
If it makes you feel any better, Im running a ACT 2600 kit in my car that was manufactured in 04 LOL So far so good. The clutch has been in 3 different cars now and has a total of maybe 4000 miles on it. If it survives until the winter it will be getting replaced by a south bend setup.
How many miles were on it? What alot of people don't realize is these performance clutches are only designed to be used for 10,000 miles in a street/strip car.
Im running an S256 on my car rite now. Im also using a ACT 2600 clutch with a street disc. The manufacture date on the pressure plate is from 04 haha. Im running 27psi on E85. 23* of timing up top. It is making realy good power and the clutch holds it just fine. Put about 500 miles on the build...
Just go to advance and buy the $32 felpro composite. I run that with standard arp's and an o-ringed head. Been running in between 24 and 28psi on my s256 with no problems at all.
Thank you all for the compliments!Honestly I don't think I could make these and sell them. For what it cost in materials plus all the time in fitting the pieces and welding them up I don't think too many people would be willing to pay the price I would have to ask for it. I did it mostly as...
