I took my car to NTB today to have the upper strut mounts in the front changed out, I have some generic brand adjustable struts (no brand markings on them, red and the adjustment is 4 was and you adjust them at the top of the strut) They call me and tell me that there is 3/4in vertical play in...
After my timing belt failed (cheap orion) I decided to rebuild the motor vs. just swapping the head again (already had to do that once). So I hit dsmtuners hard and read everything I could on rebuilding this engine. I only rebuilt one engine before (83 corolla) and that was with my dads help...
I've got an htc 8525 and i've been very curious about logging with it. I couldn't find anything till now. I need to give this a try. Lemme know how it works out.Is it difficult to find the cable for this? I've never seen one that goes from the diagnostic plugs to mini usb.StyleTap...
The six bolts have the mounting points on the block, the 7-bolts have mounting points on the transmission. The 90's only came with 6-bolts so its going to be alot easier to install a 6-bolt motor.
I'm thinking about organizing a get together in San Antonio at Dave And Busters @ 410 and I-10 one weekend. Wanted to see how many people would actually be interested in showing up. If I get enough interest between here and texas-dsm I'll organize the meet.
You could use a MAP sensor for tuning. One version of the 4age silver top motor uses a MAP sensor built into the throttle setup, it allows them to run with open throttle bodies like you're suggesting. Will be an interesting setup if you can pull it off, albeit a bit hondaish but its cool...
It took me and a buddy about 21 hours do to the same job, we kinda took time tho. And it was the first time I tore into a car that deep so I was learning as we went, if you have some experience and a few hours every evening you shouldn't have a problem getting it done in a week, then sell it...
That's really as detailed as it gets, find a N/T at a junk yard with the 2.0 4g in it and pull the harness/ecu. Make sure there are not cut connectors or frayed ends on the harness. It will save you some headaches.
Some people are like me and can't get internet at their house. I pay $10 a month for dial up. I refuse to pay $50 a month for 500KB/s down for dish internet, its freaking ridiculous. As for tv, the digital conversion isnt so great, my girlfriend has that stupid converter box and we can barely...
Move was freaking hilarious. Best comedy of the year so far."Remember what happens in vegas stays in vegas... except genital herpes, that shit sticks with you forever."
Yeah I know what you mean, every time I got to trade/sell my car I end up saying "no, I'll just keep it forever" I've never done any drugs so I can't compare it to anything else though... :idontknow:
Yes sir, but its a workhorse of an engine ;) (my corolla wagon has a 4ac :D )You could do a compression test, if it comes back good then go from there, make sure no leaks, but for the most part if the compression is good you can usually get it running. If you still have problems its probably...
Don't swap the head on the stock 4ac block, do the full 4age conversion. You're going to need to convert to an electric fuel pump too. Your best bet would be to get the gas tank out of a gts corolla and wire it. You also might need to get a 4age transmission because i believe the exhaust wont...
Yes this is true, GM USED to make one hell-of-a vehicle. The new cars are the one's which I'm referring too. GM doesn't know how to do electronics, its like they're almish or something. They can build one good carb'd engine tho :thumb:And btw, damn these political threads get off topic to...
I completely agree with you defiant. If the American car companies would get their shit together and make some reliable and more fuel efficient the public might be a little more inclined to buy their cars. And for christ sakes keep it simple, stop making the same chassis with 4 different brand...
On my local news station they investigated a few of the gas stations in our area and found that their pumps were mis-calibrated and people were actually getting less gas than they were paying for. Be careful what you buy, you might be getting less than what you pay for.
You say that like its a bad thing... I'm going to raise my kids in a closet, we don't have basements in Texas.I've been worried more than once that defiant was going to find my house and kill me. That picture only confirms my fears that he's capable of it.
I found out about the GM bailout situation being finalized on the news last night and turned to my girlfriend and said "I don't wanna own part of GM". She didn't even know what was going on :| Now I'm walking around shaking every bodies hands at work saying "Congratulations! You're now part...
+1 to buying a rolling shell of a TSi awd and swapping over parts, heck it looks like you have a leather interior too, be sure to swap that over! :thumb:
