Never put 87. Been there, done that. it messed up my fuel trim horribly and had to end up siphoning up the gas since i dont trust those "Octane boosters"
*Flamesuit on before a holset praising comment is made*
IMO If I wanted a solid 400whp street/strip car I would pick up a FP68HTA,TiAL 38mm and go E85(not sure if you have them available in your area)
I got my Tial 38mm w/ dumped 2.5" O2 housing setup used for around $300, get a Good tune and...
You should look into the balljoints and the control arm bushings. You're chassis is tired and the rubber bushings are probably almost shot. I would look into a urethane bushing kit. It'll improve your suspension and stability drastically.
...do your self a favor and get a set of ground control/kyb coilover set. I wouldn't trust eBay Products Especially when it comes to suspension. If your
sole purpose of getting coilovers are for looks, I'd say go for it. But I would never go to a autocross with one of those in my car.. Just my...
I've had 3 2g's over the past 2yrs and some of them clocking over 130k and so far none of mine has crankwalked. but that really doesn't mean anything..there are SO many variables that could affect(good or bad) it, theres really no real answer.
Like what Johnny said, people go though fuel injectors very often especially dsm's, they seem to stay fine even if it was used. i wouldn't mind getting a used set..I would recommend getting a new O-ring kit if you went that route:)
If you have already checked the brakes(especially the rotors as they would cause vibrations if they are warped) I would look into getting an alignment:)
I thought 1G auto's came with a 13g?
Anyways, the Evo3 Exhaust manifold is designed to match the 7cm^2 turbine housing that the Evo3 16g uses..the 13g has a 6cm^2 hotside but Since you're only going to be using the turbo for a month, I'd say go for it! and yes, it will bolt up to your...
I had a feeling you did..and yes, your car would be puffing a significant amount of smoke when you drop the throttle(that is if the rings are bad).
Quick question, did you bother to change the oil pan gasket when you dropped the new motor in?
Our oil pans tend to get tired after over a decade...
I was going to say pull off the turbo inlet pipe and check for oil deposit/shaftplay but since you have a new turbo i doubt your oil seals are bad..never hurts to double check though;). I would go though all the IC piping and make sure you don't see any oil.
I'm guessing you're rings are...
You should have no problem running at the drag strip. i've never been to a track where they don't allow launch control,2 step etc etc.
i've ran my cars at E-town and LVD and they never said anything:)
Update your profile so that others can see what kind of mods you have on the car... you can't just increase or decrease your fuel pressure and expect to see different a/f on different RPM ranges..;)
I've had idle problems on my car for a while and i finally sourced the "revised" ISC. I took the throttle body off today and the two screws that hold the ISC to the TB are completely stripped....I took it to a local hardware store and i cant seem to find the exact size.Does anyone know if...
your experiencing the famous 2g "pump up" you need to properly adjust the master cylinder so that you get more freeplay at the top of the pedal travel:)
your coolant lines are tired and worn..start the car up, let the T-stat open up and once it starts overheating, squeeze the upper radiator hose and you should be able to see/hear where the pressure is leaking from.(try not to burn yourself)
my 2g had the same problem for some time last winter..it would take two or three cranks to get it started in cold and hesitates when i was on the throttle at idle..turns out my CTS connector came off. slide the sensor back in and BAM!
Yes. PLEASE replace all 4:D
i had to learn the hard way. had yokohama S-drives in the front(225/45/16) and the previous owner put some crappy $20 tires from pepboys (215/55/16)and ended up spinning my car 3 times then smashing a sign with my car in the rain after a autox event..../RANT
did you check your engine temps when warmed up?
the ecu starts pulling timing when it gets to a certain temperature(too hot)could be simple as a thermostat?
i hope so :p
I got a ACT 2600/street disk in my GSX and its been through over 25k..still solid.I think this poll is pretty vague since everyone has different driving styles and other factors like modifications done to the car/how much power one is making with that clutch setup.;)
Okay here's the problem. my car drives fine in all gears but once i let off the throttle while still IN gear the car jerks(slightly but can be felt) and makes a whining noise...this is happening in EVERY gear.
It seems to be slightly worse in low revs..Im guessing its something related to the...
i run a SS O2 housing from punishment racing w/ a tial 38mm&dump tube on my daily talon.
i did it because i hate having a loud TBE everywhere i go..and honestly, i would sacrifice spoolup time for tickets anyday. Plus, i love scaring annoying punks that cut me off :D
do you honestly believe every single word thats posted on the internet?
if you dont have first hand experience you have no room to talk here.OP, dont mind the haters its YOUR car.
my ebay 16g is holding solid 18psi for the past year still NO shaftplay. i had a little trouble with the WG...
