double UGH! Turbo through the hood?? Zip Ties through the radiator?? A HONDA? B*tch slap this guy, he needs to get out of the game..480hp or not. and a gsx will see that easy with that turbo he's running. Keep in mind, your 4g63 can handle that on stock internals..I don't think any honda can...
the video speaks for itself...good build. kudos to a killer dsm. i live in Texas, but I know where I'm going to build my evo when I get it this year..my dad's family lives back east..maybe i can stay with them...
haha, this is how i got a prestine 99 eclipse GS with 90k miles a couple of years back for $900! Some kid thought he fried the electrical system or hydrolocked the motor driving in the rain (very light rain) he said all the lights came on and it just died. It sat for like 6months, until I...
over a g for a 16g? waaay too high. for that price you could go with a gt30r. alot of people here have had good success with the 20g, so I say 20g or save the $$and go with the evoIII ported
i drive a 2g cause it looks cool! i've always liked the way they look..I wasn't being sarcastic with the civic joke..that car weighs like 1000lbs less than a dsm(2g) and with the same amount of hp? dropping a thousand pounds is bette than adding 100hp...sleepers are very cool on the other hand
no prob. I am running a 1g fmic on my 2g! I do have a big 16g turbo, but everything fit ok, had to mod the bumper a little, the pipes seem to stick out a bit more on the 1g than the 2g, so in your case you should have no problem
yeah those recaro's would have been sweet, but the evo fmic isn't that good to begin with, although better than a stock smic. i would try to pull everything you can, use what you can and sell the rest off on an evolution website.
^^x2..the splitter looks killer w/ the blitz..just make sure and buy the urethane blitz..i just broke my fiberglass one in a parking lot at the mall. I took it off cause it looks goofy w/ the middle gone
there's a guy running around (colorado i think??) w/a 4g63t in a civic hatch..so with enough time and money you can do pretty much anything..it'll be fast, but it'll still be a neon. Just cause someone can do it doesn't mean it's cool...I mean, people castrate themselves, but I don't think...
try a radiator shop to fix it..most of them can fix these kind of problems to hold water in a radiator, and there's a few in my area that do well with fixing intercoolers for boost...same principle design
i've never heard of a 14b pushing 20psi anyways..mine had a blown h/g due to overheating..new motor, they never hooked up the cooling fan sensors..duh..their loss, my gain
same prob on my car, but found out the power steering pump had a sliiight leak on it dripping onto the belt, causing it to squeal..i never saw a spot, so I couldn't figure it out for a while
^^ not always man, i hit fuel cut cause for some reason my stock bcs will let my big 16g get to 18-20psi. it just kinda pops a little and jerks but not too bad.
X2 don't compromise cause if you save for a couple more months, you will have something better...cheap parts don't belong on a quality car, they belong on a cheap car and/or hooptie
the 4g has more room on the driver side than the 420 does on the pass. side. more vacuum lines, but it's pretty easy overall. I wouldn't go to the extra trouble of removing the motor
yeah I paid $400 for my 90 with a blown headgasket. I would be wary..if he was hitting 20psi modded or not, you know he beat the hell out of it..check everything and get him down to the 500mark or so because you may drop another 2k in it before all is said and done and the 500 will make the end...
that's pretty high..i was quoted with $350 for my 1g at 4.5 hours or so..this included a new timing belt and water pump install..I already had the parts though, is your price including parts or no?
i have mine hid under the dash too, looks more stealth and it's out of the way. it's really easy to hook up the brown wire, and it's a really good safety feature, so hook it up! the purple and the gray don't do anything necessary, so I capped em off
yeah, that's the next mod along w/ a maf-t so i can tune for the 550's and wally 255. but i really don't want to push past 15-18 lbs even then so i am taking it reeeally easy for now and will be getting an MBC soon to turn it down..I just don't know why it builds so high and never hits fuel cut
yup that's a big 16g or a evo 16..my big 16 looks like that big fin little fin..14b's have the same size fins throughout and t25's have a little hamster in the middle runnin on a wheel
weird cause it shouldn't matter too much on an auto. since it doesn't vent in between shifts, I am running an RFL and it doesn't recirculate, and I have no problems whatsoever..mine is auto too
no diff. it will start out at around 5 psi then build up, before the tranny shifts..say about 6k rpms it will hit 20 or so and shift around 22 psi. I only ran that once, I don't wanna blow anything up. I just had the head redone w/ a cometic and opened up everything..bowl port blend, larger...
Ok this is weird..this is my setup first...96 gst. auto tranny, big 16g turbo, fmic, hard pipes, 3" thermal exhaust (stock dp) frl bov, head is new w/ gasket, timing belt, etc. i just installed a boost guage as the stock one is junk. When I hit full spool, I am hitting around 18-20psi. The...
performance parts=someone beat up on it already and usually ricers aren't the type of people to properly upkeep their cars( I mean, they heat up springs to drop it for god's sake!) so be very careful and I'd check the car over thoroughly..then if you buy it, change everything!
why would you want to do this anyway? you wouldn't get a true representation of your dyno numbers b/c there will be drivetrain loss to the rear wheels.
i am getting rid of my n1 cause i just bought a thermal..there's nothing else out there that sounds as good as the thermal r&d exhaust..but magnaflow sounds great too
