Doing a leakdown today. Dropped oil in the cylinder last night and it jumped up too 180ish.I didn't think so either, but this is honestly the only problem that's left with the car. Everything else is functioning.
I've been working on car that runs poorly, the best way to describe it is the car sounds like it has cams, it doesn't though.
I did a compression test.
Cylinder 1 - 173
Cylinder 2 - 172
Cylinder 3 - 135
Cylinder 4 - 170
IIRC the manual says no more than a 20% variance in cylinders. Is...
I bet that's why dude. There are times when I have to get some parts(EVO III exhaust manifold gaskets) that take forever because they are coming from Japan. I wonder if it's a bit harder to get parts from Japan into Can?
You're dealership sucks. I get stuff the next day or a few days later, I also have an installer account with them and do a fair amount of business. I think they start to stock more stuff as I order more stuff.
They had a 1gb master in stock yesterday, and the slave is 1 day away. Things like...
Thanks for the referral. I sent them an email the other day and just heard back this morning.Well this is what I was afraid of, they can indeed repair the crank. However to bring it back to original spec and nitrating it will be about $500 bucks. Looks like I'm on the hunt for a new crank...
Does anyone have experience having the thrust surface repaired? I really don't want to toss out a $600+ crank if it's salvageable. Maybe BogusSVO will chime in.
Hey there guys. I have an Eagle stroker crank that has worn thrust surfaces, I called Eagle and they don't repair their cranks and couldn't recommend anyone to me. The local shop here has terrible reviews and I wouldn't trust them with anything.
Is the crank worth reusing? If so can you...
I spoke with him on the phone earlier. There are shims installed, we're going to check it out tomorrow or the next day the be sure they were installed properly.
Not my first rodeo, I'm familiar with our ECUs. :thumb: ECUs are rebuilt units from ECMlink. The battery terminal was lose, replaced it with a new one. No more clicking. Thanks
I guess I wasn't clear, regardless of the isc I put on the sound remains. If I put that same isc on another car it functions perfectly. Plus both ISCs I've switched ohm perfectly and have zero damage inside, no sense in buying a new one. The isc obviously isn't the problem here.
Both ECUs are...
90 gst I'm working on. The isc is clicking constantly, it tested fine. I swapped it with another known working ISC and it did the same thing. Pulled the ECU and it has no damage, swapped with another ECU just to be sure and it still does it.
Any ideas?
That's the wonderful part about art, I'm sure plenty of people would purchase that. You haven't been to many art shows have you?I second the part about not having to be a dick. The wrench ring and spark plug earrings are cool as hell.
Sounds good! I think we are tearing into the car this week and slapping in a 6 bolt lol. I'm sure the machine shop did something incorrectly, there was nothing we did that would cause this. The guy who runs the place is a total prick.
Hope Chris doesn't mind me talking for him, I helped with a lot of the build.
They assembled the bottom end, no charts or spec sheets. We didn't check the end play with a dial indicator but the crank DEFINITELY had no end play.
Lol maybe it did, depending on the spider. Some Tarantulas are pretty aggressive.
I wonder where this is?
I have an infestation of brown widows in my shop, they aren't aggressive and eat lots of flys and other annoying bugs in the shop. I did however find a black widow the other day, killed it...
I honestly didn't expect to see what I did. I only have my cell to take pictures with and it doesn't zoom very well. I'll try my Ipad later when my wife gets home with it.
I'm sure the brake cleaner trick works okay, but no chance it was going to do the job 100% IMHO.
Just finished. Really simple, heated the ball up until it was glowing, hit it with shop air and it popped right out. I'll try and take some pictures. it's seriously nasty in there, the hole left is completely blocked with crud.
