Yeah this deck has seen better days.
After putting a straight edge I’ll have to do it flat enough no significant damage to the area where the fire ring would go the block did get damaged but it’s outside of any coolant passages.
When i melted the head some aluminum got welded to the deck of the block.Checked for flatness and had a high spot.
With muriatic acid it softened the aluminum and used red scotch pad. After I was done with the affected area i neutralized the acid with baking soda.Now just waiting for...
