I couldnt figure it out either but when I changed to a hotter plug (ngk BPR8es) it stopped the problem. If it's running rich you might have a small pinhole boost leak also.
I used to work at an Ace and they just have to line up the end of the key with the cutting wheel, instead of the.... um... thing that stops it from going in the ignition farther. Otherwise some wal marts do it too.
Front mount pipeing is routed differently, I'm assuming you have the stock side mount? Just wait and see what you find. No pont in spending extra money on parts you won't use.
It is probably worn off by now, mine is. But when you open the hood, it is on a white sticker in the center of the hood towards the windshield. Kind of confusing but hope this helps.

Also I just got a tranny from Jacks about 2 months ago, shifts great, no problems yet. Never drove one of Sheps but a stage two would be good as said above.
What did it do when your buddy started it? Did a battery light, CEL, or anything come on? It sounds like something is still grounding out. Check over all your connections and fuses. If the alternator was bad you should still be able to jump it so I wouldn't get a new alt. just yet.
I want to put a awd exhaust on my fwd. This is for a 91 gst. I want it to go under the rear bar and then come up to where stock muffler is located. I am not going to bend the stainless because that would be insane, but I am going to cut and weld on angles. Has anybody done this and can tell...
