Does anyone know a mike that was big into dsms in the area. I bought a red 1ga gsx off him, moved away and lost his number. I cant remember his screen name on here. any help would be appreciated
they just said it was a vacuum and recharge job, I know it holds pressure for quite some time, and it was working great earlier, so Im not sure what to think..
hmm well it holds pressure for sure, I just let it cool off after I got back from the shop and restarted it and let it warm up and it ran fine, compressor ran like it should and it was ice cold....the system hasnt been charged in a long time so maybe it took a while to work correctly?
I just took my car to the a/c shop to get vacuumed and recharged with R134, everything is fine and the car blows cold air when the compressor is engauged, problem is that the compressor is cycling every 7-10 seconds or so..during that time it gets cold then stops and gets warmer, then repeats...
Alright so Ive been trying to figure this out today, I need a new front passenger side wheel bearing and I have 2 used ones avalible, however when I put the hub arms in a vise and wiggle the hub it has a slight amount of play, now I know most of you will say its bad instantly but with nothing...
Yea I'll check out that TPS, and the injectors are 680's and compensated for that, max timing is 16 degrees, target AFR is 11:1, im currently trying to get my turbo housing rethreaded so I can put the manifold back on, the threads got wacked up upon taking them out, so I cant post a revised log...
well to update the situation I believe I might have found out a good chunk of the problem, after inspecting my manifold 2 of the bolts to the turbo were very loose which created a huge exhaust leak registering a lean condition. I'll repost a new log soon to see how it looks.
Alright, I havent done any tuning since the summer and decided to do a log today. I have my boost at 20 psi all mods are listed in my profile, for some reason the logs look VERY lean up top, keep in mind the ECU is stage III chipped so keep that in mind when looking at the MAS readings they're...
any soon time/date anyone wanna pitch out to have this event happen?? If we got a time/date, we cant move forward in trying to find something intresting for everyone to do...
Well Im not really sure, however I know of several DSM friends of mine in Mtn home that would be down for a meet, if anyone is around the area and wants to pitch an idea, feel free....
So when and where exactly is this meet? Also would anyone be interested in having a meet sooner than September, say sometime soon this summer? Im ready to hang out with other DSMers from the area whenever....
ok i have a mechanical oil pressure guage for my 91 tsi awd and i know the general area to tap into just not the exact place, all i know is, is that its near the oil filter, other than that i cant figure out what to tap into, so if somebody could help me out here it'd be nice, thanks

Im pretty sure this turbo isnt the 50 trim its the Vtrim its the only Bullseye turbo that has 8 Fins on the compressor side. Im almost thinking I should stay with my Evo16, anyone else have an opinion on what turbo I should use? Thanksjustin
So did they just use different compressor covers or what? How is this turbo spool, power etc. Basically is it worth putting on instead of my Evo 16? My mods are perfectly set up minus a 255 pump and AFPR for a larger turbo so Im tempted. Also, is the V trim the only Bullseye turbo to use the 8...
I was only told it was a 50 trim Im not 100 percent certain I know the kid that had it on his car was basically stock and it spooled at like 4300 lol, It is a mitsu bolt on, cus he had it just bolted on his almost stock car. If I could find out what kind of turbo this is I could get it for real...
Ok I have a friend that bought a car with a 50 trim of some sort on it, I wanted to take a look and see what kind it was/condition since he doesnt want it on his car since its to big. But it doesnt appear to have many labels/markings on it, Just on the compressor side it says "G 204" on it, and...
From Mtn Home. There is a decent car group in this area few DSMs evo, STi, srt-4 etc. Not much to do but theres a decent amount of pretty fast cars here.justin
Ok heres a log from not to long ago, it seemed to hit fuel cut about 7k almost even as you can tell from the log, I beleive this is because I richend it back from the previous logs because there was some knock there. this log however seems to have some mild knock throughout the rpm range which...
Alrite I did some pulls today keep in mind the weather today is around 80 whereas the previous were in the 40s so I dont know how much a difference there will be I'll upload the logs later today but I so far have it leaned out to -15 ish without knock on my high map. above 6k im having to richen...
Lol of course, Im trying my own things just wanting others opinions as well, I dont have access to race gas :(. Anyways here are some new logs I have 2 They were both at full throttle and the current boost for these was 17psi, Fuel cut occured this time at 6500 and I did lean it out a tad...
Something is up and I know it, I havent had to deal with fuel cut since I ran a 14b lol, and now all of a sudden its back, ill try any suggestions you think could help. Oh and I have lowered the boost to 16psi and it still cuts fuel at same rpm. I'll try and post a new log with full throttle and...
I know this, My timing seems a bit high, at 5800 rpms it was peaking at 24 degrees and thats when fuel cut happens, wtf is up with that, is something wrong here or what?
Ok, the tps was me basically because I figured if it just slammed the gas I'd hit fuel cut instantly but, now that I drive it more its only happening about 5500-6000rpm. Plugs were checked 2 days ago gapped at .28, look great, not lean not to rich. Base timing was done couple weeks ago to 5...
I can use one off of any N/t year? Also how much fp does it increase it by? Is there any other people that have done this with good result?. Thanks for replies.justin
There was a pretty large leak on the coupler right before the throttle body and a small leak below the J pipe. I sprayed soapy water and repositioned the clamps to solve the leak.
Also, my injector duty cycles are around 70-75ish I believe if that helps, It seems as if I should be running rich...
hey, alrite I did a boost leak test tonite, and found a fairly big leak so Im like great good deal. Well its about 40 degrees out tonite so I went out and did a few pulls, 20psi, same afc settings No boost leaks now, and boom fuel cut at almost exactly 5500-6000rpm everytime  I dont get...
Yes new gaskets were used for that stuff, I have only gotten fuel cut since I rebuilt the block with the 8.3 compression ratio. Im not sure about the boost leaks yet, I havent gotten time to do that yet, but other than that what else could it be? Why would a boost leak instantly cause the fuel...
Ok Im having a little bit of a tuning issue, I just got my new block put in about 700 miles ago, Mods are in the profile. AFC settings are High= -7 across, any leaner I get more knock. Throttle points are 30, 65. I have 650 injectors so it seems a little rich but everything looks good plugs...
Do you think the crank could be ok since it didnt actually eat the entire bearing completly up? And wouldnt it be wise to just buy new rods/pistons as well? I wouldnt think that its ok to reuse rods/pistons and how they fatigue over time, im only looking to make around 400whp eventually so I...
Funny....my friend just bought an 06 wrx, put on a few mods and blew the tranny in it as well, only had 4k on it :toobad:. Personally I'd stay with :dsm: :thumb:
Well........yesterday we dropped the pan and well............I'll upload pics of the bearings soon, but cylinder 1's rod bearing was pretty f-ed up lol. The others showed some dark marks but nothing to outrageous, Im curious if the crank made it or not, I dont believe the bearing spun out, the...
Well I just went out and did the spark plug pull test and..................it still makes the exact same sound while blimpin the throttle  well maybe thats a good sign lol, Not sure. Keep the suggestions coming, thanksjustin
While driving today I was testing out to see if it was strickly rpm dependent or throttle dependent. I can bring the rpms up and never here the sound or if I just barely use any throttle it makes it noticably, same goes for while driving. If Im just barley hitting the throttle I can hear it but...
