Im guessing the turbo inlet has to be machined.. would that be all or is there more machining that needs to be done.I prefer to use the wh1e since it uses the vband compressor cover
Any one have any problems with the compressor cover leaking on the HX40s were the c-clamp go. Mines keeps leaking thru the little cut in's on the cover.

Look at the picture in that thread the 2g piston has a much deeper combustion pocket then the evo piston.
The proper way to no what compression ratio you will have is to cc the top of the pistons.

Think about it very carefully.
They moved the pin height but obviously gave the piston top more material to reach 8.8:1 making the piston much stronger.

7 bolt rods do not properly fit on a 6 bolt crank.There is no change in compression when you put the evo9 or 8 pistons in a 2g block, they are still 8.8:1.

Keep the motor you have. You will waste less money looking for a evo16g turbo, afc, fuel pump and a larger intercooler. with all this said and done you will be at the 300hp range
The 1g head does fit the 7bolt 95 and up block. you need the 1g intake manifold and you will have to run the 1g cam angle sensor since there are no bolt holes to place the 95 cam sensor on. You would have to do the magnus mod in order to run the 1g cam sensor. Its a good upgrade if you combine...
