Yeah, I mounted mine in the same location. Lower rear passenger side trim panel. Plenty of room there and easy to get the wires routed.

I’m going to have a custom radiator built for my car so I can have a tranny cooler included. That’s a good idea putting the external cooler in the old SMIC location. I think I’ll put the tranny cooler and fan on one side and then an oil cooler and fan on the other side.

I’ve heard of Apex in Chicago. Any other experienced DSM machine shops in Illinois or Colorado?

I’m looking for information on how all of you are cooling these automatic transmissions. Are you using a cooler in a radiator, external, or both? What external and where are you mounting it. What fan works good with the cooler you’re using?

You could try to pressure test the cooling system if you suspect a coolant leak.

The siphon probably needs a little pressure to make it work correctly. May not take much though.

The HRC Hahn Race Craft intercooler works with stock fog lights. IIRC it even bolts to the fog light mounts.
