If it drives at all take it to a shop get a free quote and then judge what the value of the car is vs what you would have to invest to fix it.I got my GST in TERRIBLE condition for $2800.00 and now I could sell it for atleast 5k so If your really looking to just get rid of it then sell it...
This is just to close this forum out, I got the new upper pipes and the new BOV, It took me about an hour to install both and get everything going... Turns out I had my MBC set to MAX BOOST!!!! :nono: So I feel super smart now haha.....Anyways It was leaking where I thought it was near...
Ok so I got the OBX FMIC installed and it is leaking like louisiana after the hurricane, I need to find a silicone coupler that fits my turbo/pipe so if anyone has a link to one I would greatly apreshiate it since I dont know the exact size but I am guessing 2" should do the trick for the one...
Why are you going to buy larger injectors and an AFC without upgrading the fuel pump?? Its like turning on a sprinkler attached to a squirt gun IMO..... :nono:Personally if you think $670.00 is going to get you into the low 13's you might want to read some more because, Sure it is possible...
:thumb: ThanksIm thinking that my leak is where the lower IC pipe meets the stock plastic pipe. I heard someone had an issue with it holding here so I suppose I will just wait untill friday when I get my new BOV and upper pipe.If it still surges then Im going to just beat the thing...
Ok so I installed my new FMIC which is the OBX brand and it aligned 100% straight, it mounted up perfectly and of course the install was awesome although It was missing 1 silicone coupler so I had to make one from a radiator hose I got at AutoZone which ended up sealing better then the ones it...
My opinion check for leaks....Also when was the last time you changed your sparkplugs??on your aftermarket BOV did you recirculate the air or is it dumping into the atmosphere?:rocks:
Well, Lucky for you I have tons of experiences here in FL with COD titles and titles that even say they cant be titles here in FL.This is my advice and I am telling you this from experience, A tow truck company can tow cars and then re-title them if the person does not come to pick them up...
Daren you are a :dsm: GOD , haha that answered all of what I needed so im not gonna buy this turbo thats way to much BS for #'s I can pull out of other turbo's for alot less work and more tunning. Now on a side note if its 400$ and the rebuilds cost 400$ then I could turn it over and make some...
Hey Slick that was what I was looking for, Can anyone confirm that with Slick??????No offense to the other guys replies but I was not asking about supporting mods like fuel or loggers. I was aiming more towards if this turbo was going to be a bolt up or not and if not what supporting mods do...
So I found a new/rebuilt GT35R for sale here locally from a shop and he said he would sell it to me for 400$. I looked them up and thats VERY cheap so im more then happy to jump on it. What am I getting myself into when it comes to bolt on \ oil cooled \ liquid cooled.
Am I going to have to buy...
Its not going to blow your engine if thats what your asking but it is going to make you car run like :beatentodeath: ........
Just let the car cool down, go get one of those 5$ walmart oil catch pans and dump some of the oil out. If that is not an option take it back and have them dump the...
If you do a search at all you should have gotten threads with everyone saying not to use the BOV. Do like everyone is saying and tap the J pipe to get a good pressure source.Good luck :thumb:
Awesome thanks for the idea's and help!!! I got my HKS BOV today but I dropped the car off to get a new paint job so we will find out in about 4 days when I get the car back and install the new BOV....:tease: + :beatentodeath: = :rocks:
Gah I hate to say it but my car is Red with white side skirts.............. I got it like this and thats not all they vinyl painted the interior to match but only did the door panels...... :cry:Thank god I am dropping my car off tomorrow to get it re-painted this week :thumb:
That is correct that's why I said its dumping it back into the intake and not the atmosphere. If you dump into the Atmosphere your MAF thinks the air that was dumped from your BOV is still being sent into your engine. Hence, you will run rich and then all sorts of fun things can happen!!! (NOTE...
I have a Dejon MBC, I turned it to the point to where I couldent blow thru it then hooked it up. If i turn it the other way then I would be at 30PSI, not that I dont want to be but something tells me that would be one of those bad ideas hehe ..... I get my BOV in a few days when I install that...
Wouldent I hear it if it was letting out that much boost????? Also I dont want to sound ignorant but its kind of hard to install the MBC wrong with all of the instructions from this site + Vfaq........I could be very wrong and putting my foot in my mouth but it seemed simple enough...
No problem was just curious why, Im new to DSM's and I read that most people were getting around 11psi without a MBC. I agree with you and like i said earlier im not bitching I was just curious  ....Haha Almost already happned, after installing the gauge went for a test drive with my...
That is where I tapped my gauge in at with a T fitting, I just followed the line from the upper intake to the fuel pressure control solenoid and mounted a T fitting there so the hose would come up through the steering column boot and mount up without having to go crazy with the firewall. So if...
When the car is off it sits at 0, When I turn on the car at idle its at -15, when at WOT it maxes at 15psi. Just for the record im not bitchin that its at 15psi but more of just amazed and curious as to why. I now have the MBC installed and it is tightened all of the way down and I still hit...
Yea I said the helll with it and installed the MBC to see if any change, It responds better so I am happy. Tomorrow I should get my BOV in the mail and see if that helps since the stock BOV is just dumping most of the boost over 11psi back into the intake. Thanks for the reply's now just...
Hey guys,This is one of my first real question's here so don't flame on me too bad if this seems like a stupid question.First things first, this is a 1996 2G 4g63 with 98,000k.
Now down to business, so I installed my Boost gauge today and took it for a run around the block. I have not...
Not sure if your BOV is stock or not but on my 2G when I first got it the stock BOV was dumping boost at WOT and I would drop 3-4 PSI and it would feel like :beatentodeath: ...but I agree with everyone else Check for leaks and see how it goes, good luck. :thumb:
Just my thought's you might want to replace the thermostat if your going to be doing general maintenance, I got my GST that had not been ran for 1 yr and got about 12 miles down the road and it started to overhead because it was stuck in the open position just my 2 cents ........ Nice find BTW...
