Its an Afco Racing 80133N with a custom shroud and a Spal 13in puller fan. The car is a budget friendly steel rod 2.0L with straight cut gear 2g auto, s472 now, 8.50 cage and its on Ms3Pro. Ill update my profile to make things easier. Don't mind the mess in the picture, doing some changes this...
I never did try adding holes, but Im sure it will help if you end up having any issues. I never had overheating issues with no thermostat but then again I have a really nice big dual pass radiator. My car was built for doing Rocky Mountain Raceweek so very similar to your drag week build.
Never noticed any issues with the high pressure. But the whole reason I started measuring coolant pressure was to keep an eye on how the head gasket was sealing and to set up a safety if pressure went to high to pull timing out of it before it really hurt anything. Its dead consistent now with...
I was seeing big fluctuations and inconsistency with the hose bypassed, stock thermostat and stock waterpump. Coolant pressure was 60-80psi with thermostat during a pull. Removed the thermostat and pressure is around 26psi max now during a pull.
Sorry profile is out of date. The car is on one single 44mm as of now. Its setup on a 3 port electric boost controller. I dont remember exactly what springs are in the gate but there is a lot. On waste gate alone it makes around 35psi
Hoosier Qtp's. Have a ton of street miles on them. Including interstate, rain, and mountain driving. They are great for keeping the drivetrain alive and great 60fts.
I have a lot of friends that are in it this year! I have done it the last two years but sadly my work schedule would not allow it this year. I will definitely be going next year as this event is the best race event I have ever done. I encourage anyone and everyone to try it! The people you meet...
I have been running TT's and HD wrist pins for about 4 years now. Just had it apart over the winter to check things out and bearings looked great. This is on a mid/low 9sec car that gets beat on religiously and spun to 9k. This car also sees a ton of street time as well as a ton of...
I have sprayed a dry 50 more times than not. Also when I throw an ebay 16g on when my hx40 let go I sprayed right over a 100shot to spool and for the whole run. Ive never had issues with the stock converter. But then again I love my Bradco and would never go back.
On an .55bolt on 40 60mm and also a twin scroll t4 hx40 60mm I could stall up on a stock converter. It would take a little while but worked fine. Spray always helps too.
Have you received it yet? I have yet to hear anything back from them. Really frustrating with how long I waited for this manifold and how much it cost.
Does anyone know what is going on with Punishment Racing. Trying to warranty an exhaust manifold that I purchased from them because of bad welds that have cracked. They aren't responding to emails, phone calls, facebook messages, and they just deleted their facebook page today. Getting pretty...
Thanks man! Made a little under 500hp to the tire on a mustang dyno at 33psi. Made 550+hp at 41psi having some issues spinning on the dyno. Heres the video just because I love it.
Ya for some reason it wont let me update my profile. Its a 10.5 Wiseco/Manley 2.0 setup, Kelford 272s, stock intake mani, twin scroll hx40 60mm, FIC 2150s, Walbro 450intank feeding a Bosch 044 inline, Bradco converter, welded center diff, and anything else just ask. The 9.5 pass was on only...
Not sure which it is because I could of sworn it was a 18cm^2 housing but I guess those dont exist so its somewhere around that size!Ya I am running a tubular crossmemeber with no parallel bars, after this happened I just cut down the stock ones and it has been fine since!
Damn wish you guys...
I might just have to!!Very nice! Im moving to Evansville. How is the car scene down in this area? Im pretty excited Evansville has a local 1/8mile track!
Thanks man I really appreciate it! I have tried a bunch of different ways to keep the bolts in but the only one that works and I dont have to constantly worry about is tack welding every bolt.
Well finally finished up the new motor and made it to our local heart breaker mustang dyno! New motor setup is just 10.5:1 Wseco pistons with Manley Turbo tuff rods, good valve springs and delta 272s. This was all done on a 7blade 60mm hx40 with the t4 twinscroll. Car ended up making 547hp at...
Well I just got off the dyno and Im very pleased with the results. Ended up making 547hp @40-41psi and 14 degrees of timing. This was done on our local heartbreaker mustang dyno through an auto with a stock non lock up converter. It would of made more power if the control arm didnt break its...
I tried using stms fitting they sell for the balanced shaft inspection hole to 6an and with no baffle it would fill the catch can really fast. So I then switched to this http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/4g63-block-vent.472409/ and it worked extremely well! Barely get any oil in it and dont have...
I think my video is proof enough that they can make good power! It made 504 on a local heart breaker mustang dyno uncorrected with a factory unlocked converter. I have no doubt in my mind it would/will go mid-high nines since I already went 10.1s on 30psi over 2 years ago. Ever since then I have...
Its a divided t4. And ya making a rear exit exhaust will just depend on where your manifold places the turbo but shouldnt be to big of a problem to fit it.
Ive been running a 60mm hx40 in a twin scroll 18cm^2 housing for 3 years now and its been an amazing setup. It spools up good enough to stall up my stock converter to whatever boost I want with no nitrous. The car has gone 10.15 at 134mph on a 30psi 2 years ago. Since then I have been on about...
Im on a twin scroll hx40 60mm on a 2.0l motor with stock intake manifold. With the stock converter I can reach 4000rpm and launch at whatever boost I want in 4-7 seconds. Ive been using this converter for about 2 seasons now and zero issues. Last time at the track 2 years ago at 30psi it went...
Well had some bad luck a couple days before leaving for Texas when I found the limit of Eagle rods. First street pull with the car back to awd it decided to break a rod which windowed the block.Ended up still going down with some friends and had an awesome time like always!
Pretty much the same its been besides bigger injectors and intercooler. Still on the hx40 and stock converter. Hopefully it will go mid nines this season.
Any other dsm's going to be down there again this year? I finally just got my car done so I will be making the trip from Nebraska! Hope to see some more dsm's this year!!<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/OVAU0O8D7yM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I made a page for my car on facebook so I can give updates and call people out.
check it out!https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Purple-Turtle/586150094789793?fref=ts
Brad Penn 20w-50 with a wix filter. I am also using e-85 fuel and have been running both for a couple years and my bearings look great! Never had an issue.
