Coolant temp sensor would keep the engine from turning over during start up. I've seen some crazy stuff. If the ECT was bad would I be able to roll start the car? From what I've read about the ECT the car will at least try to start. I get nothing but one solid relay click in the dash fuse box...
Cancel my previous post, both relays click. Had to have them both plugged in at once. Back to square one. Thanks but I've been all over that thread and the forums here for the past 2 days. I have not yet read anything similar to what I have.
Just reinstalled the ECM after opening it up. Everything "looked" good. No burning smell at all. Working on getting the MPI relay out and checking it. Found this thread on checking the MPI relay.

Although my MPI relay looks...
I am working on the car now. My problem seems to be the lack of "powering up" essentials to make the car start. Even without an alternator or starter I should be able to roll start the car. Got to go buy a fluke or the like as soon everything opens up here. I just hope the ECM isn't fried.
No...
I have a strange no start issue. Story goes. My car sits parked for long periods of time. On 8/31/13 I drove the car to work after a jump start, no problems. After work I jump started it again and installed a red top battery. Great car starts strong and runs great. Went out of town Saturday...
Dr Emmett Brown invented the time machine back in 1985, just a few years before you were born lofty. I just agree with the op. I beleive the classified section is here to help the buyer and seller. Even with texting some members here are terrible communicators.
I am old-ish and refuse to text with my phone. I have sent pm's to at least 3 members here posting in classifieds and text was not a "best" form of contact. Going on a week for some, only 1 person got back to me. If you are posting something for sale check your pm's for crying out loud.
May have been posted, I did not read everything as this thread is 1 1/2 years old. Do you have fuel pressure? You can rent a fuel pressure tester from most parts stores. I have only experienced ecu problems that prevented spark like the other poster stated. Seems very odd no one has a solution yet.
+1 on the Kobalt (?) box at Lowe's, looks to be biggest bang for the buck. The Snap-On boxes are super nice though, the top drawer will hold enough weigh to tip the box over.
Same thing happened to mine, even after a harmonic balancer install. In my case the alternator itself was loose causing the belt to ride slightly out of alignment. Tightened the alternator and tightened the belt banjo string tight, no more noises.
This is exactly how I learned not to use an extractor....ever. Great advise from Flying Eagle, try to weld a nut on the extractor or the broken stud and back it out.
My car hasn't even been driven let alone worked on in over 3 months. I have a 6 year old daughter and expecting another girl in August. Kids are cool but there isn't much time left after meeting their needs.

You can remove both cooler lines on your trans cooler and extend the cooler lines so you can place them all of the way to the bottom of 2 seperate 5 gallon buckets. Put the sending line in an empty bucket and the return line in a bucket full of fresh atf. Start the vehicle and let the trans pump...
I'm a recovering pyro plus my wife thinks I'll set the house on fire.
Similair to what Lil' Shaun said, I use to use model glue and accelerator that both came in little hair spray bottles. When the accelerateor mixed with the glue the wasps were intoomed in a brick of glue in less...
The Mustang and Camaro crowds used to be d-bag central. Actually come to think of it most Honduh guys I've met are d-bags too. Now that I've said something negative I'll finish Positive and say that the Nissan crowd is probably the coolest bunch.
Amazing how thoughts worded differently can be so funny.
On a side note, does anyone have any clue how to get rid of wasps? I've got a bee trap that'll get honey bee's, hornets, and yellow jackets. The yellow jackets seem to really like beer.
One of the best rants I've seen. You lost me with the math and I'm too confused/lazy to check behind you but it makes tons of sense.
The electric eclipse is cool but a bit pricey at $7k.
With out a doubt given the information we've been given op appears to have been ripped off. However pointing the finger at what should have been done can not prove or disprove that smoke testing for a vacuum leak would have netted a different result.
I simply intended to give the op some...
How does a posi-trac in a 72 Plymouth work? It just does.
Little turbo dumps into the big turbo, big turbo dumps out, and both turbo's discharge into the intake.
One thing you need to consider is diagnostic time, book time is meant to be a guide only so in a perfect world if nothing goes wrong then book time would be applicable after compensation for diag time. This of course goes out the window when a "repaired" problem/symptom still exists after you've...
Wet sanding headlights- results with pictures, anyone know of a clearcoat? - DSM Forums
Very good info here also. The best clear coat I have ever seen or used is made by a company called BG. Many repair facilities cary the BG product. The headlight restoration kit is about $40 and comes with...
The 90 model chero is my father-in-law's. 4.0 5sp and 4x4. He brought his own clutch kit complete with a pilot bearing. And like every free job I've done something went wrong. I can now tell you there isn't a soul in Durham nc that has the correct pilot bearing. My jeep is a 97 4.0 5sp 2wd with...
Here's the deal. Your bike is worth around $1500 on the high side and a car that won't run is worth...? As little as possible especially since he doesn't even know what's wrong with it.
I would rather have a galled butt hole and two doses of the clap, at least I can get rid of that. I would stay...
My experience with the 1.8's have been nothing but perfect. I've even eeked out 40+
mpg regularly.
Opinions are like a- holes we've all got them and most of them stink.
You may have paid too much for the car. The first eclipse I bought was $59.95 plus a $30 eBay ecu and I've never paid more...
If you are putting in a clutch, let me know where you got a pilot bearing that fits. I had to machine .050 off of the sleeve to make the only one available work in a 90 modle. Pilot bearing hole in the end of the crank was 1.00" id, every pilot bearing available was 1.56" od.
I would get rid of the skull, cops ask too many questions. I tried keeping a few fish for my daughter on several ocasions and killed every one with in 2 months.
Hammer a bunch of wheel weights on one wheel.
Lotion or vasoline on the ear piece of his phone.
Wrap up a turd in a red shop rag and place it on his work bench. That one may get you killed though.
Wire the ignition coil to the driver's seat frame, car may not start but he most likely will get...
Too bad I'm late on the topic. I bought an Innovative wideband kit from Maperformance a few months ago $189 shipped, reputable brand, complete kit, and great price. To add to that Maperformance is a supporting vender;) and super honest good people.
May want to use some paint thinner to clean the part before applying the final coat. I've personally never seen anything like that, it almost looks as though the peice was flexed before the paint cured.
Idk maybe we need some wisemen on this matter. It is my understanding that if a t-stat is stuck open then the engine will take forever to get to operating temp. Example is my 93 sundance blew a headgasket and while waiting on parts I removed the t-stat to keep the engine from over heating....I...
Wait a minute, your car is overheating too? I would start diagnosing that problem first, maybe related and may not be related.
If you suspect the heater core is an issue you can use a laser thermometer to check the temerature of the 2 heater core hoses. If 1 is much colder than the other that...
I'm way late on this topic, sorry. I am not much for riding the hype train but Fedor is a bad man. I used to think all he ever did was get lucky but no matter what he will find a way to win.
Keep in mind Fedor is a small heavy weight and as much as I hate Brock Lesnar (or his antics) he is a...
You may be able to monitor the "miss" with a data logger or have a mitsu shop hook it up to the MUT. Even with out a DTC there still could be a missfire as certain parameters must be met to set a DTC.
With out getting too involved that forum looked kinda ghey. No offense afroeclipse, but what were you doing on there?
I did find the d-bag insight slightly humrous but d-bags are everywhere and drive all kinds of cars. Like Bud I do find that the d-bags do also prefer the Mustangs, Camaro's...
