    Engine Stand

My Question is where do you connect an engine stand up too on our motors? I have pulled my engine from my gsx because I spun a rod bearing am need to have the crank resurfaced. I borrowed an engine hoist from a friend to pull it, but he needs it back so I got an engine stand from autozone. I...

    How to disconnect starter wire

Exactly what everyone else said also. It is a combo of pushing the clip in, wiggling, and pulling.... depending on how long it's been it could have a lot of grime stuck in it.

    How to disconnect starter wire

It should just unclip and off... there is one that is held on by a nut, then the other is a clip. Kinda similar to what is used for the coolant temp sensor.

Ok, cool with me. I know it was 40% but as soon as we get up in the mountains that turns from rain to snow so I wasn't sure how everyone felt about it.JB

    "Spec" clutches?

As I have said, I did not like mine. I had 50 miles on the first one when I was told it would not disengage by a shop that rebuilt my tranny (although my opinion of that shop is not verry high because they never fixed my tranny), so I gave them another one to replace it with while the tranny...

Curious about this also, I know my FWD seems to have a longer 5th than my AWD... My AWD is at aprox 4000rpm at 80 and the FWD is at like 3500 I think...Who knows.

    "Spec" clutches?

Just thought I would update my opinion on this clutch. I had aproximately 600 miles on it and while driving the other night the spring popped back out. This is the second spec clutch I had, the first I was told was defective by a local shop who worked on my tranny, so I got another to...

best stock fitting slim line fine?

I had bought the ones from slowboy and after installing them my car would overheat. I replaced those with these F-A-L fans and it fixed the overheating. My fans have the seperate control box also. You can buy the universal ones that do not have the controller for like 100 bux cheaper I think...

Post your Funny DSM story for us laugh

I did that one too, Drained a Full tank of gas to the street in my Apartment, I was showing my dad and noticed a strong gas smell and looked underneath to see what happened. I found a large darkspot where it had been draining to and evaporated. Glad no one was smoking near it. When I went to...

Post your Funny DSM story for us laugh

Ok, I was wiring my Flex-a-lite fans and when I was looking for a wire that was only live while the car was on I was checking wires. I pulled the fuse on one wire and then came back a few minutes later and forgot I pulled the fuse. I ended up using that wire and when I first hooked it up it...

2G Using stock rad fan wiring for SPAL

This is what I did and it worked, although I have switched to a Flex-a-lite fan set up that cools alot better because I was still overheating. I do have to say that I like these fans better because they have the shroud and the control box that allows the temp to be set to turn on. JB

I know the master and the slave are ok, I bled it till there was no air coming out and then some...... I did not see anything that could be in the way of the cables. How do I determine if the synchros are bad? The reason I wonder if it is something like that is because the only gear it gets...

OK, I just got my tranny back in and my car running. I took it for a test drive and it doesn't go into second sometimes. It is like it is not even there. It did this before I pulled it too, but I was hoping it would be fixed with the new shift fork, fulcrum ball, and clutch. I need some help...

Speed Sensor Bolt Dropped Into Transmission

OK, I think I may have a problem. I was pulling my tranny and when I took out the speedo sensor the small 10mm bolt fell into the hole that the speedo sensor goes in..... I know I should have been more careful. Does anyone know an easy way to get this out? I don't know what I need to do to...

2G Using stock rad fan wiring for SPAL

One question, did you wire the AC fan this way also? I was wondering b/c I might want to wire it so the AC fan comes on also. Right now I have a switch turn the ac fan also. I don't know if I will need that with the slimline, but I sure do with the stock ones. Thanks, JB

    Please help with high idle!

Yeah, I will try to take a couple pics of it tomorrow to show what I am describing. I'll try to describe in words for the time being though. It is a bracket that holds the throttle cable and is mounted to the intake manifold. It is two 10 or 12mm bolts that bolt it to the manifold. If you...

I have noticed mine is doing the same thing. I did the fan switch that is listed on the vfaq.com and it turns both my radiator fan and ac fan on high when I switch the fan on.
