Dont know much about their springs on my end but known good cams? Every test Ive ever seen ended up with BC cams under-performing the competition. Where have you been reading?Back on topic though, OP, sorry to hear about your car. Its tough trying to put the blame on anything since they...
His car runs great. Holset'd evo tuned up nicely. We never sat down and tuned completely since we both work constantly and never really have time. I just want the car to run better already, running so lean is starting to get scary haha. Also I cant make out the picture you posted...way too...
Hmm...I'm at work now, ill have to go try to find your tune in here. What map are you using? My load reaches about 260 or so I believe, ill check my logs. Ill also have to ask why my buddies is so different, since he said he used his maps on his sd evo
The injector scaling has been all over from almost 900 down to 750 now and doesnt help. Cruising is perfect, so is tip in and everything up til around 5k rpm but only at WOT. Doesnt really make much sense to me, with that corner of the map so rich it should be much much richer.
I am using the GM 3bar, it seems calibrated fine, sits at 0 with the car off. Heres a picture of it all. They are PTE 1000cc injectors. I know people seem to have to knock the scaling way down for PTE but I though 770 would be enough, I just changed it to 750 but havent run the car yet with it...
Hey guys, anyone have an idea of why my car leans out so badly at WOT around 5k rpm and up? I scaled the injector sizing way down, added tons of fuel and doesnt really help at all. Its nice and rich until I hit that point then it jumps to ~13-14:1. I have no knock, a pretty good amount of timing...
I was actually thinking about selling my dsm to buy a new SS. They arent particularly fast because of the weight which is why my dad opted to buy the C6 Z06 instead, which I think is a hell of a performer. But good to see, have some fun messing around with it. You should be fine
I wish I had a 3.909 rear gear set I really do. Its not the center diff thats welded when I was running FWD with an AWD tranny. Any thoughts on possibly the Tcase or does it sound more like the rear diff?
Still confused on what to do guys... Shep and TRE are saying to replace the trans final drive gears while Jacks said it shouldnt have locked up on the lift which makes sense too. Im not 100% sure if it locked up though the driveshaft ujoint snap rings may have not been in all the way and it...
Well I looked it up. Its an Evo 1 GSR gear box with a 3.909. My rear is a USDM 3.545. Would this cause the locking up of that one wheel so badly? Im on the hunt for a new ring/pinion for the rearUpdate:I talked to shep for a bit last night. He seems to be going on the route to replace the...
I was under the impression the transfer case was gearing was the same as the early 2gs? I did the identification Jacks Trans. put out and got the 12 turn lineup. But maybe its a coincidence. Now another question is having it in the air, would the ratio difference lock just one wheel up? Or am I...
They said it was a 95 non lsd manual which is what i have...along with the early TcaseLetters on rear diff is (BFB) anyone confirm? I forget if I took their word for it or looked up the code for manual non lsd.Heres another thing, this motor, tranny, and tcase are out of a JDM motor...
Hey everyone, so I finished up the swap a few weeks ago and didnt get to drive it due to the snow. It moved fine so I figured everything was A-ok. I went out for a drive today and found a pretty large problem. The car grabs as if the wheel is hanging up in the back. I threw it on the lift to see...
+1 lolWell, I always loved the RM Lip, but after smashing just my bumper numerous times I figure its a waste of money because it will smash eventually unless your not lowered.
Its highly over-rated...crank walk is not as big of a problem as people make it out to be if it has the 7 bolt in it already I wouldnt waste the money unless it wasnt healthy.
Yes, its in the Northeast section of PA.From what my buddy said JMFab also has interest in coming and the list of people is much longer from EvoM and Tristate tuners. I hope to see alot of the people here that can make it!
lol jumping from stock motor and no mods to running a hx40, cams, smim, and E85 (if virginia is lucky enough to have it since NEPA isnt). Why not push that 40 to its true potential and build the block that point.Agreed that the evo3 isnt anything special besides some added bonuses stock vs...
I run the evo ecu with ecuflash personally but everyone seems to love dsmlink more and its slightly more tuner/user friendly although both are easy to use.
for injectors i usually say go as big as you can tune for. If you go dsmlink go 1000+ if you stay with a piggyback like a safc then 680cc max. I ran a evo3 16g with a 255 and 580cc injectors daily at 24-25psi. Very awesome street turbo but without E85 and a great tune I wouldnt look to break...
Evo III motor isnt much different than the regular 7bolt. It has the same power limits and really depends on the tune. I generally say around the 500hp level, more has been done with great tuning and also less has been done with poor tuning. A standalone isnt really needed, DSMLink is fine
Highly doubtful, if it is what he says anyways. A stock Z06 on stock tires ran a 10.9 1/4 mile and a procharger can add the Ls7 up to nearly 700whp stock blocked and run much better times than a dynoqueen supra. Id take a AWD dsm over a supra anyday.Back on topic, if you're going that route...
Yea the IAT isnt much of a problem really I just wasnt sure exactly how the MAP was wired in. Now I have to find the MDP connector because it hasnt been plugged in for along time now :p
hey guys, Im not sure if it was discussed yet in here or not(too long for me to go through) but how did you go about wiring in your maps? Im going to go with the GM 3bar but all I found on here about installs was fooling safcs, etc and Im not sure how the evo ecu will differ. Anyone got any info?
Im not 100% sure because honestly I forget but Im almost certain I didnt drill any holes. They may have been alittle off and I just drilled them out with a bigger bit but thats all. As far as mounting to the floor it was tight but they worked without modification. I just couldnt bring myself...
Those are the same brackets but I bought them off a different dealer/seller on ebay. They were like 50$ shipped at the time.Yea I have the gradation reclinable style Bride, they are really comfortable and actually pretty sturdy
They are on ebay, I believe he works for the company producing them. I want to pick them up really bad but I dont feel like spending that kind of cash on wrapped mirrors yet haha
Fake Brides with real bride rails...priceless lol. I have the knockoffs too, they hold up just fine. I used rails I found on ebay for 40$(both) and they fit fine.
Should be a good time...DJ, prof. photography, etc. Hes most likley use the Advance Auto parking lot we have up here for it. It should be large enough as it connected with another lot along side of it. I work there so I know it will go well. Like I said Im not the one organizing it but since he...
I have the AEM, to tell you the truth I'd rather the MBC. Its great for on the fly changes though. The % is a bit tricky and varies on setups. My A is set at about 50 and my B around 57. On B I run about 27psi out of my 50trim without much problems. I think with your setup you should just stay...
I am not running this, however my friend Brian (yellowevo42) is. Any questions I can pretty much answer though. Hope to meet/see a few guys there:Looking to have another meet this year on May 1 , 2010 at 10am . All Mitsubishi's are welcome. The meet will be located at 161 Brooklyn Street...
All meth really does is raise the octane of the fuel...allowing for more timing to be run, keeping the chances of knock(detonation) down. It stabilizes the octane fluxuations in the gas pumps also, making your tune more accurate. Water is added sometimes to cool the air entering for combustion...
Being able to flash the 98-99 ecu is great but i think its just as cheap and alittle easier to find an Evo ecu to buy and just install that. Not to mention the maps, tephra mods, etc are much better right now especially speed density. Im sure 1 day the dsm ecu will reach that but right now I'd...
Id go with OEM if you can afford them. I put axles in (same brand they sell at advance auto) and snapped it at the outter boot. I mean they are only ~$70 so its up to you but dont expect to get a long period of time out of them if the car isnt stockEdit: just noticed by "aftermarket" you...
