Since I suck at tuning that is a shot in the dark. My logic is lean mixture by cutting more and more fuel. So in normal condition it would produce knock. That's why retard timing. But when I think again that probably will be a power loss...
I think some of the guys here are missing the point. We do not want MPG compared to other makes or models. We want better MPG compared to our performance tune. I have a map for highway and one for drag strip. I can't drive my car on a high way with the performance map, right. It's not a bad...
I think the setup has lots to do with it. I have driven my car on the highway once and tuning the AFR's to 15-16s would start overheating process so I lowered those numbers to get decent 85-90 degree Celsius.Next time I will try to retard timing as well so I can cut little more fuel so the mpg...
Yes, it was after the swap. I didn't track race it when it was FWD.Thakns guys. I will focus on practicing more than anything else, promice!I guess the weight, winter tires, stock suspension, (ACT disc maybe is slipping) all are preventing me from a good launch. I had 1.96@60ft last year on...
Hi all. I am going to a drag race in 20 days and I was wondering what are your toughts.Last time my best on that track is 12.68 @ 112.8 with an FP68HTA, but I plan to do some improvements.1. Get decent slicks (race slicks not drag ones, but they should help). Last time was making 2.11 60ft...
I have put copper paste (yeah, paste, not a spray) on my resurfaced head, block and BNIB Cometic MLS. I just have missed the text saying that it should be clean in the cometic brochure. I risked and So far - around 1.5-2K miles I haven't had any leaks. So do not spray it if you haven't yet. If...
All (or almost all) Euro DSMs have Immobiliser. They do not have such button. The key has some transponder and a receiver is built in the key lock on the steering wheel. You can put another ECU which does not require immobiliser and the car will run
What port do you select. I think DTC port was different than logging port. Try different ports. As far as I remember one required MUT, other was OBDII or somethink like that
Thanks Glenn. I will try to degree the cams as you suggested. I know the 68HTA is surge prone, but I am noob-ish to the turbo cars and wasn't sure. The surge wasn't that bad with the K272s but it was there. However those cams were overkill and I was afraid to degree them so i decided to...
So I have this issue and the car seems not too fast as before. I have swapped the K272s with stock. Actually the exhaust is a 260 degree (NT stock cam). This issue was present with the K272s as well but it gets wors or at least I think it does. Can you identify the problem by watching this...
Did you change the radiator. The N/T radiators are half size the turbo radiators. In other words - they are 2 times thinner. A friend of mine didn't change the radiators and he had a lot of temp issues. Have in mind that the summer is not even close ...
I think they look for everything - brakes, lights, emissions, noise levels...maybe more. When I bought my DSM from Germany it had tons of paperwork with research and tests for just changing the factory whee;s from 15" to 17". They are pretty strict there so make sure your dsm is flawless.I...
Do you still use the MAF? My friend had issues with startup and running because we thought that the ceddy mod supported SD until we purchased the real SD rom from Ceddy and we had no issues at all
Hi, I also have problems with NGK wires. I have tried both NGK BPR7ES and BPR8ES and seem to make no difference, so I guess it must be the wires. Rarely, but still i got some misfires @ around 6500-7000 RPM. I haven't played with the spark plug gaps yet. And I am only making 23 psi
The way I used it was to use a strap to slide in the bolt from the already cut holes so no cutting is involved. Used a big head steel bolt and then welded it so it does not move and thus be strong. I have no issues for 3 years now and thing it is a reliable and clean method.
There are 1G N/T AWD's. Mostly in Sweden, Austria, Germany, but they may be found in other countries as well. They are pretty rare however they cost as a regular 1G NT. They are a little different than a turbo 1G though. They have more torque to the front wheels (maybe 60/40) and some Webasto...
- Get the subframe bolts of the donor car first to be oriented where exactly to drill in the host car :)
- Remove everything around the shifter lever including seats and carpet before welding the driveshaft brackets.
- Make sure you have the AC compressor bracket from the AWD car.
...
They are not that good, but you might get the picture.

I got those along with the adjustable cams so I can still have aggressive cams and lower the power band thus lag, which I guess was wrong.I will try degreeing them and see what happens. If I can't reduce lag significantly will put back the stock cams.
I want to test the cams performance when degreed. I need to lower my powerband because the car is too laggy now. The question is - how can I make sure a valve doesn't hit a piston.I have Delta K272 (same as Kelford 272) pair, Manley 8.5:1 pistons, Cometic MLS 1.6mm gasket, head and block...
Wow, it seems like it was a great shootout. Maybe some of the next years will have to buy a plane ticket and come over to be part of one :)Do you guys have some info on that 4g63 hot rod, a site, or a thread with the project. It seems really interesting
I had the chance to see that beauty for myself. The car looks amazing! The images and cannot represent the way it looks in real life. I was not sure if I liked or hated it until now. However I tried to take some photos that hopefully are better than the ones I posted before.
I am posting this as a favour for a friend of mine. He experiences a strange sputter when boosting over 10psi on his 14b turbo. It sounds like electrical issue, but decided to post some logs. Also we changed his plug wires to NGK ones (mine actually), tried with BPR7ES plugs (he has the...
hm...the U pipe out of the intercooler doesn't seem right. I think you need to shorten or use more bent UICP so the U pipe doesn't lean forward like it is now
