First I would check the codes from your CEL to get a diagnosis. I had a similar issue from an accident I was involved on. My speed sensor was broken causing the tranny to go in limp mode. Keep in mind you have two of them. One is the input speed sensor and the other is the output speed sensor.
The minimum thickness is cast into the inside of the rotor near the lug holes. You would have to measure the thickness with a micrometer measuring halfway from the rotor's edge. If not too familiar with this you could remove your rotors and take them to oreillys and have them check it. I'm not...
I had that same problem a year ago. I had replaced everything I could think of. I'm about 95% sure its your rotors. Even if you have good pad wear if the rotors have not been resurfaced before last pad change or exceeded maximum run out limit, it would cause them to make this sound if badly...
First of all, welcome to the world of tuning. With that being said there are quite a few options out there for the 420a platform. There are ecu upgrades like afx and if you have time, patience, and some basic wiring knowledge you could give megasquirt a try. There are guys doing all motor builds...
Thanks Rabenne. Just trying to help a fellow dsmer. I had similar problems with mine at one point and was a pita to figure out.To the OP keep us posted on your findings after using the multimeter.
It's always good to diagnose before buying parts. Always follow the KISS rule.(Keep it simple stupid):)When you try to crank it, do you hear anything like a click or the solenoid plunger being actuated? If you hear just a click the problem would be the battery, the main solenoid contacts...
Believe it or not, not all front mounts come with hard piping. To the OP, if you consider an ebay kit be sure to clean the inside of the pipes with compressed air or pull a rag through it to be sure there are no pieces of metal shavings left inside. You don't want that to be sucked into your...
I like it just the way you have it. It's a pretty clean look. The polished letters don't pop out at you too much like chrome but is still pleasing to the eye.
Hey, it's just my opinion. I just like the 2gb rear. It has a more modern look to it. It's up to you to decide. After all you are the one that has to look at it everyday:). BTW are you going to paint the whole car gunmetal? I've never seen gunmetal paint with white wheels before.
I would check your hatch. There are drain tubes there as well. Mine gets clocked every now and then and back up water under the hatch. There is a drain on each side similar to the sunroof and runs through the rear fender.
Looking good man! Love the paint. As for the valve cover I would take a dremel and polish the letters. That would give it a contrast and make it pop. I was thinking of doing to same to mine.
Thanks for the compliments. :) Yes, that is my car in the pic and its sits a little different now with a tire and wheel upgrade. As far as making an exhaust clip I have no problem with that. I would just have to wait until the weather clears up first.
I absolutely love my exhaust. It consists of 2.5 inch piping from stock cat to muffler with resonator delete welded to an ac autotechnic carbon fiber muffler with burt titanium tip. I like to look of the hks carbon fiber muffler but didn't have the pockets for it. At idle it has a deep tone a...
I would check out rockauto.com. They have everything that you will ever need for your suspension. Lots of good quality replacement parts at great prices. You may even qualify for a discount.
It does not look that bad. I've seen worse collisions that have gotten fixed 100%. You just need a new radiator support, but definitely take it to a frame shop to check for alignment.
+3 for discountiredirect. I ordered a set of wheels and tires from them recently with free lugs, mount and balanced. Also saved an additional $50 off the set of wheel. Set arrived at my door the next day.
I know how you feel. I have an auto tranny and I ran exactly 17.9 in the quarter mile. As far as mods all I have is intake and exhaust. Unfortunately these auto trannys are a second slower than manual ones. I'm doing a manual swap soon and adding more mods to take care of that problem. You might...
I had a problem with my radiator fan recently myself so I feel what you are going thru. There is one critical step that you forgot to do is diagnosis. What i did for my fan is used jumper wire from the fan to the battery. If the fan motor comes on that means the fan is still good if not then...
Hey i know this is kind of late but have u found out the problem yet? If not I would take the car to autozone, get the codes scanned, and ask for a print out of possible reasons. It helped me out alot with my problem and maybe that can guide you in the right direction.
Well its been almost a month and I just figured out the problem. It was a faulty crank position sensor. I bought another CKP for $20 on ebay compared to $111 it would have cost from the dealer. Thanks guys for the help. :dsm:
Thanks guys I appreciate the info. Three years ago which was about 30k miles ago I had the transmission rebuilt and flesh fluid put in. I had problems since then with the input and output sensors through the years and thats why assume it was again the problem in this case. The guy at autozone...
I have a 98 eclipse nt automatic. While the car is cold I have no problems, but after driving around the city for a while the transmission starts shifting roughly. The check engine like comes on and the tranny goes into 2nd gear. (limp mode) I used a scan tool from autozone to read the error...
