  1. Biggest Rear Tire on 2G ?

Hey guys. What is the biggest tire with stock setup I can fit on a 2G? Meaning, I need to fit a 295 / 30 / 18 on there. With stock ride height, no fender work done, is it possible to fit this tire on the rear of the car? Thanks.~Eddie
  2. SCCA Wiregrass Region Solo II Event #2

I understand your concern sir, I do. The fact is I was put in the FP class by the onsite SCCA officials. I have no control over what they list on the results as I do not enter the results, the SCCA official does. And yes I do remember one time you did try and help me with wheel sizes and I...
  3. Preseason updates? Show us what you're doing!

Thanks for the input. I have thought as the months getter hotter here in Florida to go to the Red Line 20w50 oil myself.~Eddie :talon:
  4. SCCA Wiregrass Region Solo II Event #2

Thank you for your concern sir. As I stateed in my PM to you there are people on the results listed in the wrong classes not just me. If you would have taken the time to go to last months results, there I am listed correctly in FP. Why would I run FP last month an the turn around and run...
  5. Melted upper timing cover

Didn't Collier have one made up for his Laser? I could have sworn he had one on his car made of aluminium.~Eddie :talon:

  7. Preseason updates? Show us what you're doing!

Nice job in SM man. Thats the beauty of AutoX. You can go out everytime and learn something new. Well with any racing for that matter. When is your next event?Oh yeah, how do you like those Illuminas on your 2G?~Eddie :talon:
  8. Rear brace removal on a 1G?

I see man. I knew it was a 2G, just didnt know if you wer talking about something similar to this in your 1G or not. And I totally understand what you mean from a safety point of view. Just adding my $0.02.~Eddie :talon:
  9. Rear brace removal on a 1G?

Chris - If you did a cage similar to this one, it looks to me that they have welded the braces between the shock towers. So you would actually have to remove it.~Eddie :talon:
  10. Preseason updates? Show us what you're doing!

What weight oil are you running? 30 wt, 40 wt? Just curious. I have been running either Mobil1 30wt or Red Line 30 wt.~Eddie :talon:
  11. First time out with my car- FAST Novice Autocross School

Nice job Jordan. Yeah, I had experienced the same problem with not enough gas in the tank as well. You need at least half a tank to not have that happen. Stinks to hear that it was sputtering like that due to that loose wire. Maybe you should go through the engine bay and make sure no other...
  12. SCCA Wiregrass Region Solo II Event #2

Thanks man. I drove better than last event and hopefully that trend will continue as the schedule rolls on.~Eddie :talon:
  13. Compressor Surge and Greddy BOV's

I have run the Greddy RS BOV all season so far and have yet to have any issues with it. I am very pleased with it's performance. So I personally would recomend the Type RS. Now my TSi is not a daily driven car, so I guess you could take that into consideration if you would like. You could...
  14. Preseason updates? Show us what you're doing!

Chris - When you are running your car at an event, what temp is your oil getting to? I noticed mine this past weekend got a little hot I thought. At one point is well into the 215 - 220 degree area. My coolant temp however never gets above 210. I did notice when I use Water Wetter / Water...
  15. SCCA Wiregrass Region Solo II Event #2

Thank you VERY much Marti !!! I cant tell you how much I appreciate the support you guys have given me. :) :) You have NO IDEA how much it helps. The car has been running great. A few "operator errors" here and there. But we will try and work those out. Thanks again Marti.:thumb...

  18. SCCA Wiregrass Region Solo II Event #2

Friday 03/10/2007 – Well I had ordered some new gauges to go in the car but I ordered mechanical ones when I needed electronic ones. Extreme PSI worked with me to get them my mechanical ones back and get my new electronic ones over-nighted to me. Thanks again guys. So I dropped the car off at...
  19. Air Fuel Ratio question (fyi stupid)

Just crusing down the road I am typically running around 14.4 - 14.6. Now at WOT I run around 10.1 or so. It jumps around from time to time depending on the condidtions. But it is right around there most of the time. I have seen it at 11.1 - 11.4 in a track condition.~Eddie :talon:
  20. How to adjust coilovers?

The wrench I pictured above is to adjust the ride height of the car by adjusting the spring of the coilovers. If you could find out which brand they are, you could get a wrench to adjust them. I am not sure if all wrenhes will fit other brands of coilovers or not. If so, I am sure you could...
  21. How to adjust coilovers?

Did the car not come with the wrench/tool to adjust them with? There is a special tool for coilovers that go into the slots of the pirches to adjust them. What type of coilovers are they? It should look something similar to this:~Eddie :talon:
  22. Preseason updates? Show us what you're doing!

Could not agree more. 1st event. Have FUN !!!!:thumb: :thumb: Try and walk the course as MUCH as you can before they tell you to come in and get ready. Walk it with someone who has been doing AutoX for a while and never be afraid to ask questions. Be sure to let sknow how it goes. But...
  23. question on helmets

What's almost funny about the SCCA and thei helmet "rules" as I have gone to some events wherr they do not even check for a sticker. And I have gone to events where they check your sticker in tech and put their own sticker on there to identify that you have a legal helmet. I have seen guys...

  25. Preseason updates? Show us what you're doing!

  28. Preseason updates? Show us what you're doing!

Kyle, I'd like to see some pics of your rear trailing arm setup there you did if that is possible. I had orderd some Mechanical gauges to put in my car, Oil Temp, Pressure and Water Temp. Should have gotten Electronic ones. The way they were going to have to weld onto my oil pan and other...

  31. Broken fuel feed line

Woops. Sorry about that. My bad there. :D
  32. exhaust or what

Well it all really depends on what you want to do. If you want to upgrade the engeine's performance first, then you would want to start with the basci bolt on items. ie Exhaust, Intake, Down Pipe etc. But if you just want to concentrate on the looks, then there is no need to go into all of...
  33. Melted upper timing cover

Hey, we are all entitled to a little complaining now and again. Its if anyone will listen to us is the problem. 20 guesses eh? I think we only need 1 on this one. Like to see some pics when it is in. :thumb:~Eddie :talon:

  37. Resolved Keep Blowing 20 Amp Ignition Fuses

Thanks for all the input. I got the car up on a lift and found a relay that had the cover knocked off of it somehow and the insides were exposed. It was fine when it was just sitting there idoling, but when you drove it, the thing was hitting the transmission case causing the short. Got a new...

  40. Resolved Keep Blowing 20 Amp Ignition Fuses

So I am driving (not daily drvier) car to work this morning because my mechanic is picking the car up to do some work on the car. I get about half way to work and the car completely shuts down. Still have the "Key In" beeping but nothing else. I pop the hood and check the fuses and I blew the...

Thanks for that input on the tires. I had also heard good about the RT-615s but some bad as well. The good seemed to to be ok for the value vs performance of the tire. But I will also check out the Hancooks as well.Good news Greg !!!...Thanks for that one. I will be watching to see when...
