Newbie to this turbo. Heres the ad:"T3/T4 57 trim stage 3 .63 ar exhaust side, bullet nose compressor wheel, VSR balnced, 0 miles since rebuild $500 obo"Im interested to hear from people with experience from this setup their opinions about this turbo. Overall performance, #'s being put...
On my friends '91 GSX. MAN did that thing make a difference. Hes running a 16G on 10psi (so low because of faulty plug wires, he needs to buy some more because the ones he has are shot). Even at the low boost, the car pulls EXTREMELY good through 1st, 2nd, and even starting off in low RPM's...
Im switching from conventional oil to synthetic this weekend. Ive got over 2500 miles on the motor and I wanna thouroughly flush this bastard out. I hear theres some stuff at Schucks/Napa thats an actual rngine flush, and I heard to use a certain oil. What do I want? Thanks...

^^^ Best post in the thread. You don't need a fancy manifold in any case really, since a ported 2G is more than enough to get you a 10 second timeslip.I swear, the manifold debate and question is probably the most overshot thing to do to a DSM. Buy a good, used 2G manifold for like $50...
Check down around your stock oil pressure sending unit on the oil filter housing. Check the wires there and on the "dummy light" for the oil pressure gauge (above it and to the side).
Most MBC's have a bleeder hole in them, so don't worry about that. Do you have the MBC hooked up properly? Bottom nipple should go to your boost source, middle/side nipple goes to wastegate.
No, it would not be a smarter choice. What is wrong with buying a longblock and rebuilding it? You could probably buy and rebuild over 10, 6 bolt 4G63's for the price of what you'd be looking to spend to get an Evo 4G63 to work in a DSM. Not worth even thinking about.
Take it to someone who is very good at welding and who can work with "orange slice" style bends (or very sharp bends). The O2 housing is everything for fitting a turbo that size on due to clearance issues and working around things.
^^ Good point. Most people do 2.3L/2.4L setups to put down major power and to spool large turbos that 2.0L's can only dream of doing on the street. But it's true, not everyone may want that.

I understand the extra torque fun factor, but using a turbo that size on something with that much displacement won't be that fun in the higher RPM's, even with a good cam combo. I know people who have used a 20G and a 50 trim on a 2.3L/2.4L setup. Both spooled quick, and pooped out up top...
It's just easier to do the line. Like I said, if the rubber gasket on the outlet of the fuel pump is not seated correctly, it will either leak, or disrupt fuel delivery through. The very last time I left the bellhousing on, the gasket did not seat perfect. The result was delayed starting. I...
Definitly use hose clamps. Not the cheap Home Depot worm clamp style, but more like the mini-T-bolt clamp style ones that won't eventually eat through the hose or possibly come loose in the future. You can find them at Napa.As for where to cut the bell housing off at, just cut as much as...
You need to finish grinding down that ring in the collector. Looks like you've got most if it, but smooth the whole thing flat all around. Is that a brand new Evo III manifold? If so, don't bother with the runners. The new cast used is good quality, and also VERY tough since it has a high...
If you don't cut the divider down too much, I believe it helps. On my Evo III mani, I shaved about 1/3 of the divider down, then grinded the edge of the divider into a "V" shape, or like a knifes edge. I do this with any mani I port, and I haven't noticed any ill effects or longer spool...
FTW ^^^. Changing DSM fuel pumps are cake. Follow the VFAQ all the way. I'd recommend cutting the bell housing that the outlet of the pump plugs into off, then running a hi-press/fuel line from the outlet port of the pump, to the metal line left after you chop the bell housing off (if it...
What "strain"? I think the hp record for a stock internaled 2.0L is around the 560 - 570hp range nowadays (using meth I believe) . You can easily get that number on a stock internaled 2.0L using an Evo III B-16G or 20G with no form of injection. Don't even bother with a stroked 4G63 or 2.4L...
That Alien Auto manifold sits the WG WAY too close to the alternator. Have fun replacing your cooked alternator every other month. :notgood: Plus I can't justify the price, $775 + $75 for the WG runner and flange. You can score a DNP (which is a proven manifold) for almost a 3rd less, plus...
You guys do know that it costs resellers $200-300 for each 16g GT they buy, depending on quantity? They are just doing it for a higher profit, why make $50 on a Mitsu turbo when you can make $300 on a copy?
I saw you guys in the parking lot and was like, WTF !?!?I was in my DD, plus I dont check Tuners much anymore for meets, hence why I didn't come or know about it. You guys should try posting on www.posdsm.com for local meets and get togethers since most of us are on there.
Agreed. If you are hitting fuel cut, lean the WOT setting out one point, then do a pull in 3rd or 4th. Keep doing this until you no longer cut. At each point, you should feel the cut happen later in the RPM band to some degree until it is gone. Make sure you keep an eye on knock while...
So when you turn the car off, put it into gear, then turn it back on, the car creeps forward? Sounds more to me like the shop didn't restep the flywheel to spec. Ask them if they did (resurfacing a flywheel is NOT resteping it), and if not, that is your problem. Resteping the flywheel is...
Everything is on now. Took a couple pics at the gas station tonight. Not the best, but you get an idea:The muffler will sit higher after I put new exhaust hangers on (old rubber ones are rotted to hell)Performance of a 3" pipe from the turbo back is incredible and...
Thats okay, its still different because you dont hear about Jic products in general on DSM's all too often. Bottom line is that Im stoked and happy to stick out from the crowd a little bit. I am looking into possibilities of getting the piping done in full titanium. If that cant happen, I...
Well, part of it anyways! :D 3" Jic Bullet Ti (titanium) muffler, 80mm Inlet, 160mm Canister, 114.3mm Tip:I decided to go with the Bullet Ti because I'm a big fan of the N1 style muffler, but I wanted something different. To my knowledge, no one has this muffler on...
