Sad to see the destruction. ONE thing I specifically like about ProEFI is the fuel calculations use fuel pressure. If pressure starts to drop, the ecu compensates IPW for the drop. Winter time will hopefully respark the fire for ya and you will be back at it next year. Good luck.
We have started on some of the major cutting to get the engine and transmission to fit. Here is where the engine and trans will be at for its final resting spot. We have some fabrication ahead of us to get the transmission mounted as well as the engine.
The HP goal and what he truly wanted just got out of the relm of a having anything streetable and reliable. The t56 magnum is rated for big torque out of the box, iron block LS has been known to handle 1000tq stock. The change has sucked and thats why it has taken so long to get back on the...
Build took a crazy turn! & its been some time since we have updated this! Any Silverado fans?Lm7 -5.3L- swap DSM?!
-K1 rods with WPC treated Wiseco's.
-Cam and spring upgrade.
-Stock truck heads.
-Twin BorgWarner's
-Dailey Engineering dry sump kit
We are off topic. Very few even jump into what we are talking about and obviously you have more knowledge in the technical part of it. I may not have the right words but the ideas on the topic in the world I live in which is on the dyno and at the track are on relevant to what I was trying to...
You seem like a guy who looks at numbers all day and hates real world data. There have been many times where I have been involved in someones calculations and those have been fractions to what the real world results were(in a positive or negative way). AEM and other companies actually have this...
Just search it. There is real world info out there. It can easily be worth investigating for yourself if you want the most power in each gear. Engine accelerating 3 times as fast has a larger affect than one would think. Not to mention the less likely hood of running into any combustion...
Your talking to a turbo crowd that does not have 450tq on the 2 step let alone most of the people make no where near 450tq during a 4th gear pull. Not to mention how much less power the engine makes due to flame front travel time in a lower gear in relation to ignition timing as as well as boost...
Stock cams don't ever have a place but in the scrap pile....Some guys use to drill a hole through over to the other volute on the HX turbos. Kind of negates the whole twin scroll thing.
They are american made billet I beams that should be inspected by a professional for roundness and proper housing bore size. If those specs check out they should be fine
Ya without a doubt. BUT like I said sometimes the knock sensor will trigger knock retard when the engine is not in a det event. I have turned off the knock sensor on my evo and made more power than the knock sensor would allow me to but that was using the dyno and the spark plug to tell the story.
Well knock retard is exactly that. Why run X timing when the ecu adjusts to Y. There are many times when the knock sensor activity is not justified but it shouldn't be taken lightly.
That WILL not work ESPECIALLY to 8500 rpm. 400whp can be achieved with an evo FP white and have almost insta spool. This is designed to work with a LARGE secondary and a primary to compliment it to reduce lag and have a wider area under the curve. What you are trying to do doesn't make much...
Same turbo, different housing plus I am sure everything else involved. Considering Borg warner refuses to make these big turbos in anything other than twinscroll I am lead to believe it works. I wish t3 was as awesome as T4 TS. Then the manifolds would be easier to make and I wouldn't have to...
That is False. I run a Borg S362 in a 1.1AR T4 TS housing(biggest they make for this turbo). Big cam 2.0L low compression(worst combo for spool) and make 30psi at 4k in 4th gear and make power up to 8.8K(furthest I revved it out). In 3rd gear if I start at 4k I hit full boost at 5k. I trapped...
Went mid 10s 3 years ago on a HX40 at 27-28psi on a pretty basic combo with a stick car that had 2nd gear problems. Could have easily went high 9s if I had the knowledge and midset I do now. 2.3L 17cm^2 housing. That combo was my fastest spooling combo, even faster than the compound setup I...
I have done ported head tests on the dyno and back to back tests with camshafts. The first thing you should spend the money on is a quality set of camshafts that work for your setup. That will gain you the most horsepower. At 400whp I picked up 27hp from JUN 272 cams on a fp 71hta(technically a...
What is your load limit set to? I haven't messed much with the DSM black box but normally the load limit on the stock evo ecu is 319 and you can raise it or switch to a different load limit. Does the car cut when it hits that area? The log looks weird as the curve continues the normal path after...
It turned out well, Brian. I hope we can all loose weight this winter so it will be easier to get in it. It fits me pretty well but he is a little bigger than me which makes the fabrication project a hassle considering he is hundreds of miles away. Dropping the floor allowed me to move the seat...
.68 turbine housing :barf:....If you had the larger housing on there and you had a competent tuner 30-35 psi making north of 500whp would be pretty easy to hit. I wish they never made housings that small. I did a test on a galant, went from a .55ar bolt on housing to a 1.0AR T4 TS housing and...
Well plan's changed a little bit. Just got finished filling the block the rest of the way up. Welded all the coolant jackets up. Ordered a 2nd set of FIC 2150s and rail. We decided to run Methanol. Plan to to make a lot of power and go very fast ;)
We went with FEAL's because of the quality of course, Swift springs and awesome valving of the coilovers them selves. FEAL also does a custom valving job to how ever the car will be driven.Wheels and tires are 17x9 +38 Gram Lights with Hooisers drag radials, 245/45/17.
My shops name is Whalen's Speed R&D. I am not really new to the group nor the shop scene but I just opened up my new shop in May. Most people know me from this car.I have pretty much been exclusively using FP turbos or Borg Warner FMW/ EFRs on all of my builds. I prefer to use there...
Here is the start of the tubular front end. But, on this particular build. We have to make new pick up points for the suspension set up. So we did have to cut this farther back than normal.Cleaned up the cuts..Then some stencils we using to make plates to block off the frame.
