Shep Trans Stage 3 (now grinding)Gotta love a grinding "Shep Trans Stage 3". :ohdamn:Anyways, back on topic. I love my auto. Ive had 4 DSMs before all 5spd. Do I miss them sometimes, yes...
Sucks that you are thinking of leaving. If you were closer Id buy your 1g as it sits. Ive gathered alot of good info from you throughout the years.
Hope you decide to come back to DSMs soon.PS.....PM me about your valve cover.
It looks like 3" pipe for a bit more than 3 inches. The whole problem with the 4" was the bend right off the turbo. The OP did a great job with the bend and the whole exhaust. 3" tubing is a bit easier to make the bend. Im not saying yours looks bad, I like it, its just easier to make the bend...
It looks great! This is one of the most non restrictive 4" exhausts Ive seen. Looks like your doing a great job, keep it up! :thumb:
Got to love those forward facing oil filters!Yours looks like its a 3" to 4". His is a straight 4". Its nice, but doesn't really compare.
So, it would have to be from the head? If there was no cracks, then it lifted, right?Ive seen these before. Honestly, Im not too worried about crank walk. Its a 98 and auto. These would be good insurance though. I kinda just want to throw the motor back in, 100% stock pistons rods etc, and...
Oil pressure was normal before I pulled the motor, everything what just how it was supposed to be. The coolant was in the oil, there was no oil in the coolant. My headgasket was fine, there was no cracks or rips. There is a coolant line running to the OFH, could it have leaked threw there?
Its not like there are a ton of shavings. There was 1 metal shaving so Im pretty sure nothing is 'chewed up'. Im not a big dyno person, but I want to run 10's on a stock bottom end.A built motor is a built motor. Im all about the 7 bolts but Ill build a 6 bolt if I need to.Thanks. The car...
Okay, so today me and a buddy pulled apart the motor of my 2g auto. This is my first time tearing apart the motor. I was planning on building/ porting my head and leaving the stock bottom end on the car. There is a couple of issues we came across. I found that I have coolant in the oil. The...
Currently, my head is getting built at the machine shop. I'm not sure if I need to resurface my block too. I'm thinking of running the mls headgasket. Any ideas of what I need to do?
Its just my opinion, I just personally do not like the safc, it can only do certain things. No facts or proof,on my half, its just what I think. If link is on its way, why get an afc and install it? Right? Save yourself the hassle, money, and installation.
Im no wiseman, like you, but I wouldnt...
I wish there was a  smily, lol. I dont know where this guys thinks Justin doesnt know his shit? He has rebuilt my turbo before, I did everything he has recommended for this turbo to survive....and it has. I run a restrictor, a big oil return tube, and boost my hx40 to 35psi everytime I...
Safc's were decent back in the day but they are garbage now, wait for link, the only reason people used them because there was nothing else. No point for installing the Safc when link is on its way.
So you'll be running 560s, a 255, and a 14b? What happened to the e316g? Do you have a afpr? Is...
I live in Addison and Ive never heard of that place. DSMs are easy enough to work on yourself, especially something like an intercooler install, you learn from working on your car. Soon you'll be able to build/ install stuff that you never thought you could do. Also, get a oil pressure gauge and...
Yup, that's it. Thanks for the link. :)Brian, do you know what these are for? I looked over those two pages of connectors and these weren't in there. They both seem to be running to the trans. My car is an auto, hopefully that will help.Close ups...
1.2.
Looking for the names of what these plugs are. I'm labeling my wiring harness because my motor is coming out asap. Any help?Heres what I think, but Im not really sure.
1. ?
2. CAS?
3. Some sort of Evap?
4.?From the firewall, facing forward, on the Passenger sideOn the driver...
Torque specs come with the ARP studs. Mine are currently torqued at 90ft./lbs. Torque them down 3 time. 30 ft/lbs, 60ft/lbs, 90ft,lbs.Edit: This is on a stock headgasket, btw.
1. Front mounts are not metal, they are aluminum. If you want tabs on it, you will need it welded on.
2. Mine is mounted to where my fog lights sit. Just take out your fog lights, measure the holes and have some tabs welded on both sides of the FMIC.Heres a pic from my old setup, prob not...
Thanks for the quick reply. This will help alot. On a side note, Ive been following your build on the link forums, it looks sick. :DIf any one has any other info, it would help. Thanks
Any where I can find a write up on each step needed to pull my engine?Ive pull my engine on my 1g before but it was a couple of years back and I did it with help from my buddy. Now, I am pulling my motor on my 2g and just wondering if there are any good links to help me out.
Pics of the manifold or cracks? If your welding the cracks, you don't need to weld on the inside of the manifold. There is no way you can fit a torch on the inside of the manifold tubing. You can just weld the outside on the cracks. They have a flux that brush's on to the inner piping that, once...
They will this season......:DAnyways, to answer your question, I'd say to go with a hx40. You will be extremely happy with it. I'd also get a T3 housing. I have a HX40 T3 .70a/r, rebuilt by Justin, and I love it. Its a great turbo and for a fraction of the cost of similar turbos. Idk where...
Do you have a boomba tb? Would I have to get both an evo tps and isc? Any pics of yours?Correct, this is not my DD. I left out the q45 because I dont want 3.5 intake piping and im not looking for 800hp lol. Plus with me running e85, Id rather have a isc if I could so I dont have to mess around...
So Ive been looking at some throttle body's and cant decide which one to buy. Im looking for some advice. Here are the options:1g N/T Throttle Body or 1g Throttle Body- Both 1g throttle bodies will have the half shaft mod and be ported out to 63mm. Any info on which one you personally...
Thanks guys, I was told about the adapter before. Im leaning towards the drag because I have an auto, and I think it would be the best manifold for spool on my automatic. I guess it depends on which TB I want and how much money I have to spend. Thanks again
The 75mm tb would be the mustang tb correct? Or will this also work with the boomba?
How much farther will the plate make the 1g tb stick out? Will I have to make a new uicp for each tb?
If there is a restrictor plate on it, Im assuming it has a seal? Will/ does this seal ever leak?With...
Im looking into the Race or Drag version of the JMF SMIM.
My question is:
Is it even worth it to buy a Drag manifold when Im going to be using a 1g tb?
Go big or go home....:notgood:
At least you coulda started off with a 600, once you get use to that bike, you will want something bigger etc etc etc. Now I have a R1 and Love IT!
God, that guys fab skills are great. I do have a question if you know, why is he wearing a closed mask? I dont think hes welding any thing toxic, It looks like stainless. Personal preference?Anyways, the fab is great, gives me some good ideas.:hellyeah:
I'm not saying your a Honda guy, that's just the type of people I see driving them. I've only saw a couple of sick srt4s that I would give props too, the other ones are just normal cars. I've seen the cars you've owned before, they were prob slow so you got the srt4, to hopefully make that fast...
I dont agree with you here. There is no respect with srt-4s, just another honda guy with more money so he bought a srt-4. Im sure you didnt give any 'high end' cars a run for their money. Even if you did beat and evo or sti, im sure it was from a roll and the other car must have been stock with...
