Just tell them what happened at the DMV.
There are steps to go through and you can get a new vin plate.
Not that hard.If anything, buy another dash and title from someone, swap it, register that, then pull all the other vin numbers off your car.....
The install kit should come with everything you need.Make sure to double check that though.
If anything, crush washers can be found at some auto stores, and gaskets can be made...It would suck a lil more, but it should get you home. And like mentioned, no need for a MBC. Just go straight...
You will be fine doing that.
Like you said though, keep the boost down. You have all the gaskets and new crush washers on hand?Should only take you a few hours tops to swap....Might as well try it...Id also check the turbo on the car first. (for shaft play) Just to be sure.
Rev Hard is in Rock Island, IL.
Right across the river from Davenport IA.I got the number around somewhere....Just forgot it.
Google it, they have a website.
I do give you props on making that flange like that...Never seen someone do that. ha.But ya. Ill work on that sometime soon. Def. help you, or anyone out next time.
If I do, Ill link it here or something. Depending too on how you want to weld the runners on, I can make the ports bigger or...
Im in the middle of doin mine...But Im getting all the wires stripped where I need them.
Then just taping the connecting wires on.
Gonna test it, make sure everything works ok.
Then when it does, Im gonna go back and solder them together. Then tape as mentioned. Can solder right away...
Ill add this for an easier time to who-ever wants to try this.Dont make the flange by hand...You can order them, or, if your cheap like me, have them water-jetted.
Cost about 30 bucks on average. All you need is a computer drawing of it...Though, some people dont have access to it...
So you taking it completely out?Or just unhooking it from one end and keeping the other end secured?I was thinkin about doin this, as I need to tow my car across Illinois. Dont have a trailor.
Ya...
I didnt notice this detail until after I cut out all my old mounts...Now non of the stores around me have a rear mount that fits my car.......Pisses me off, but oh well.
Do what you can and make something work....I just put in all the mounts that fit. So what if one isnt...
The 3rd gen are def. a nice thing to have.Prime them though. I put mine in a cup of oil, then stuck the paper clip in them...Got em moving, put em back in the cup and got some oil moving through them.
A few lifters were really hard to get primed, wouldnt budge..Just kept trying and got em...
I dont have mine to check the numbers....But they look just like my FIC's.But, you called em, so that cant be it...Call pte like suggested...Might be theirs, but diff number.Hmm,...I wonder if my fic's are even that...Look about the same.
Your BOV may be loose on the flange??Ive had it happen many times. Put it back on but its not tight enough or it had a bad gasket.
Sounds real high pitched, like an air horn... Or it could be any loose pipe, with similar effects. Id check all that crap first.
I wish that would work for me.Ive done stuff like that, seen the cop coming, pulled over long before they even thought of switching on the lights, and yet, I still get rapped by the long dick of the law.Glad it worked for you.
Mine did the same thing...But, I just ran out of gas :(So gas is getting into the engine then?
Sounds like it since you said that theres stuff on the cylinders.Sure your getting good spark? If you put the stock fpr back on, and still no go, Id check something else.Might have...
HA...That works...I hate the midwest with a passion...So I know how it goes. Its pointless to try to explain sometimes cause no one ever understands...But ya...Im thinkin Friday morning Im gonna head up to Toronto from work, stay the night there, most the next day and perhaps even...
Nice link. Thanks a ton for that.I think Im gonna head up to NY. Never been to the East Coast, except at Florida....Im a West Coast guy (born there)Maybe swing up to Canada on the way.Any good things to do on the return trip? Thanks a lot too everyone for the help.
Ive heard of it...Never been there.Id like to get out of the midwest though....And why cant ya stand NYC raptor? Not a fan of millions of people cramming into a tiny place?
Woo to labor day b-days.The drag strip thing....We do that now and again anyway. Not what I had planned. Though, it would be close... It doesnt matter what my gf likes anyway, its my bday :)As far as what I wanna do.....I dont know. Anything. We both like big cities. The beach...
haha...Yaaa.
I havnt had much of that in the last few months...I only see her on the weekends (if I go home)Is there a lot to do there for under-age people? Shes not 21 yet...
Im assuming there is, as the city is so big. I just dont know what there is.Any good stops along the way...
Ok....So Sep. 3 is my 21st. B-day. Yipeee for me.
Its gonna suck pretty much I can already tell.I lost touch with all my friends ( been working out of state for the last 5 months, I live in a hotel ) I hate my family, so chances are I wont even get a call on my birthday, nor do I want...
Just to chime in...I would say rev hard as well...Ask for John if you call though. Hes the one that will do the tuning anyway.
At least stop by there to check out their cars.John has a twin engine Talon, and the other owner has an almost 800 hp 2g right now. Almost in the 9's...Still...
Take out what you dont need to go fast...If it makes the car run, keep it.....Get rid of your windshield washer resivoir too.....And yes to your question.
Just took another one out....The wires behind the dash are the biggest pain in the ass....You cant get a screwdriver up there...I found it easiest to cut the tape holding the wires in.
Youll see what I mean when you get there.Other than that, its a straight forward process.lets see:
1...
It would cost as much as a tranny purchase.........Search around...Its on here. Answer more of your questions quicker that way too...http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=200884&highlight=auto+to+manual+swap
Its not hard....Just start busting away at it.You gotta remove the vents, the front bezel around the radio and such, the instro cluster. remove the bolts near the windshield...I think theres some near the glovebox...I forgot the rest...took mine out like a month ago.Take shit out, tug on...
Ive seen some cars that they sprayed "Blood" on if it had blood...Those usually never stayed long either. The people working at the yard would pull those parts, then crush it pretty quick. It is a hazard, and should not be out.But it happens. How many health inspectors go to the junk...
I wouldnt....Back when I lived at my parents that would be lame...... It would be pitch black with bugs eating you alive. You gotta remember that the midwest is a lot of open country....My closest friend lived 20ish minutes away...And thats driving 60mph to get there. If you like...
Ha...Hey!! We got 20 cars now!!!Naa.. Its not cali, but that just means the cops have that much less to do...So they can pick on people with modded cars more. You get tickets for sitting in a parking lot for too long at night...
Sucks to be you....I drive around with no cat on all the time. No muffler... Could have african children under the hood for any one cared....No one would notice.Glad we dont have emissions.
Who cares. Unless its an all-out track car it doesnt much matter. It is a fraction of a sec. diff with what is being talked about here...Maybe an extra 6-8" of piping here...Depends on exactly how its ran...He said that its the way he's doin it, same with me, cause its cheaper, and...
Im doing my own right now too...For me, it looks like taking a 180 pipe, then cutting it in half and making it work should be fine.Ive seen some pre-made kits though that have like little 90's made for that side. You have extra pipe, just start cutting it into the right size for a nice...
^^Wow, that was helpful......A clip would help.... Ive heard several types of "lobing"One was because of a bad tranny...or missing...or bad rod bearing....Its hard to say.Id check your timing though since that seems to be the only thing you changed...
