The last parts car I bought was a 2g awd talon. I paid $1700 for it and turned a profit in a matter of a few weeks. Granted, it was generally free of rust. The AWD swap, revised 7 bolt, and black interior alone are worth more than 2000.
Hey @Paul@RTM ,
This may be a long shot, but I recently got an exhaust system from you guys and noticed a crack at one of the resonators after a few months of use. Is there any warranty on those systems? Feel free to PMThanks!
Celica seats aren't even close. The rails and mounting tabs are wider than 2g and the inner rear tab bolts sideways into the exhaust tunnel on a Celica. I ended up cutting all the tabs off of mine and welding new ones on for a proper seating position4th Gen seats is interesting though. Too bad...
Their definitely a budget option. They're definitely better than the lowering springs and blown struts that I had before. The more money you spend, the more adjustability you're going to have to get a smoother ride. Something like BC or Fortune is going to have a broad lineup of different...
Nice progress!I put a black top on mine even though I had a tan interior. It doesn't clash at all and made the decision easy when I decided to swap to black/grey interior. As for the brakes. If you're looking for a budget upgrade, Cobalt SS brembo calipers bolt to stock spindles with very...
Glad you guys got the radio working. Sorry I wasn't much help there, but I was totally burnt out Saturday night when I got that text.Food for thought, when I did my sun visors I just super glued the air bag label on and it worked out great. Stitching it might be more trouble than it's worth...
Even if the subframe wasn't a concern, there's still the issue with the fuel tank. AWD tank has a hump in the middle to accommodate the exhaust and driveshaft.
A boost controller will not allow you to lower the boost level. If you are seeing excess boost, and the waste gate actuator is functioning properly, you may consider porting the turbine housing around the flapper and upgrading the o2 housing/downpipe to help the excess exhaust gasses escape more...
I just installed the AWD downpipe today. I bought it at 40% off and it was a steal. 50% off is even better! If you don't have an aftermarket exhaust, jump on this deal. Look, sound, fit, and finish are spectacular
It happened 2 years ago. Someone had the car sitting in their yard for years and couldn't get it running. Turned out to be a bad ECU, but they didn't know that and just sent the whole car to a junkyard. I lucked out and saw it there the day it showed up and bought it right out of their intake lot.
I'm assuming you're asking about the cost of the swap. I was lucky enough to find a complete, non-running AWD talon the day it showed up at a junkyard and was able to purchase the whole car for $1700. After scavenging the AWD swap and parting out the rest of the car, I netted about $2k in...
I think you're way overachieving here. Do your maintenance, then put some head studs in it.Then
Fuel pump
Injectors
Fuel regulator
16g, intercooler
Intake and exhaust
Some way to tune.
No need to open the engine for your power goals unless there's been a failureAs for the split-thrust... If...
Just ordered a down pipe to match my cat-back. I was so thoroughly impressed with the exhaust that I could not pass up the chance to own more RTM product. Definitely bittersweet
A couple of points here.
The t25 is rarely worth rebuilding. The only reason to do it would be if you're dead set on keeping everything stock. Even then, your usually better off just getting one second hand, since they're so unwanted.A traditional boost controller would only allow you to...
My first DSM was a white/blue car. I've only ever seen 2 blue interiors in person. One was mine, and the other is the interior I just pulled from a junkyard for OP.I discovered today that there are part numbers for blue Spyder interior pieces. So my goal is now to find a white 96 GST Spyder...
They're in good condition. Some minor bolster wear in the driver's seat, but overall good. The market is slim on blue seats, so it's probably the best you'll find to be honest. Send me your number and I can text you some pictures when I go out there later this week.
I went and looked at my bumper (which has 100% been removed before and it has screws holding that plate in place. I removed them for inspection, and found that the square hole in the bumper is clocked 45° from the hole in the plate on the rearward hole. So the plastic clip wouldn't have a way to...
I believe the corner plate grommets are supposed to have screws that would fasten the plate to the bumper. But I cannot find any indication of the screws existence in the service manual or the parts catalogue.
Add-on
Center console part number
Blue (2ga eclipse) - MR708203Cup Holder
Blue - MR708105Ash tray
Blue - MR147049Arm rest
Blue - MR717617All of these parts are also available in brown (2ga talon), but I was unable to find part numbers. Maybe @TheDude236 can help us out with those.
I read here that someone did the swap but there wasn't much info. I looked at dimensions and measurements of the calipers and figured it was worth a try. Then I scoured Facebook marketplace for a couple of months until a pair popped up for sale locally. Popped some new seals and pistons in them...
The mounting holes on the caliper are spaced just a bit wider on the caliper than on the knuckle, so I had to elongate the lower hole on the knuckle. Then I had to thin down the mounting rear on the caliper a few millimeters to make the rotor sit centered in the caliper. If you want to run...
I'm using Brembo calipers from a Cobalt SS turbo and outlander rotors. With a small amount of grinding, they bolt up to stock knuckles without an adapter and can fit under a 16" wheel.
95 was a transition year for a lot of manufacturers. If your car was made in 94, there is a solid chance it has R12 in it. If it has R12 fittings, you can pretty much bet it has R12. Go ahead and convert it and you won't have to worry about it again
It's an RS and it's been there for 2 months. I panicked for a second because I thought it slipped by my weekly check. But I doubt there's anything useful left.
If you're not a fan of the 2gb front, I have that spare 2gb talon bumper in my garage. It's been hanging up there for almost 10 years, so you're welcome to it if you want.
