I saw the movie, it was pretty good. I believe they hide pretty much everything from us. But do i believe there was an encounter on the moon with alien life? No.
I would definitely recommend getting a fuel pressure regulator and a fuel pressure gauge before you install the fuel pump and injectors. Also if all you want is to run 12s using the 14b, pick up a SAFC or similar tuning device, this is a necessity.
Thats what im thinking, or maybe it could be the water lines leaking on the turbo. Im letting it run for a little bit, and if it continues smoking, then i'll check out the water lines tomorrow and put new crush washers on them.
Thank you guys for your help. I was able to locate a return line gasket, and got another washer for the feed line, and we are leak free. Now im just letting the car run, and there is a lot of white smoke coming off the exhaust manifold/turbo/downpipe area, which im hoping is just that leaked oil...
I just put one crush washer on. I put the feed line down, then a washer on top of that, then the banjo bolt. Is there another way i should be doing it?
I just swapped out my 14b for a gt28rs and have a bad oil leak as soon as i fire it up. Its hard to tell where it is coming from because as soon as the car starts, oil just starts pouring all over the turbo. It appears as if its coming from the oil feed line, chra, or oil return line. I replaced...
I'm looking more and more into E85 every day. I just got a bonus at work, so im thinking maybe that money would be wisely spent getting an e85 tune. I just am not quite sure on the potential of the 14b. I would like to get over 300whp, but i think it would be attainable with my setup.
I recently put a ported 14b on my car as a temporary turbo, but am very surprised by the performance of it. My mods include: ported o2 housing, 3" turbo back exhaust, 850cc injectors, walboro 255, dsmlink, front mount, upgraded transmission/clutch, etc. On 19 psi on pump gas this turbo is...
I have a 96 tsi awd with the stock 7 bolt. I currently have a ported 14b running about 15 psi with all supporting mods: 3" turbo back exhaust, 850cc injectors, walboro 255, dsmlink, act 2600 with race disk, fmic, upgraded upper and lower intercooler piping, built tranny, and a few others. I have...
I had a t28 with all supporting mods, fmic, exhaust, dsmlink, etc. On pump gas it put down 300 ft-lbs. at the wheels at around 21 psi. Very good for the street. Whp was around 270.
So let me get this straight, you spend 4 grand on a turbo kit and put it on an rs, and you will run 13.7s. I bought my 96 tsi stock, and put less than $1500 in it, and I was running 13.5s.
On that line underneath the car is where you need to undo that fitting. The smaller 14mm nut unscrews from the larger 19mm one. You never want to try to undo the fitting on top of the fuel pump assembly because you risk tearing the line.
Here are a couple logs i just pulled. we have the timing put down low at wot to be safe. I was watching my wideband, and stayed at about 11.1:1 through wot. I know my front 02 sensor seems to be on the fritz. This also shows that my idle is pretty low. I checked and my fpr is hooked up to the...
I have been dealing with a fuel pressure issue for a while. I replaced the fuel pump 5 days ago with a wally 255 hp. I have a 3 year old aeromotive fpr.
My car started idling low recently, but at idle the fuel pressure is set to 43 psi. I am currently boosing about 21 psi, and while going wot...
It seems that right now, my fuel pressure is at a steady 43 psi at idle. When I give it gas in 3rd gear, my fuel pressure immediately shoots up to about 50-51 psi, then starts dropping as my rpm goes up. What would be the cause of this? I just installed a brand new fuel pump. Could my fpr...
I do have a fuel pressure gauge. I am asking what to look for to ensure that I have adequate fuel pressure. Such as the 1:1 rising fuel pressure/boost ratio.
Neither of us knew the pump was going bad until we put it on the dyno, and then it had problems from there on out. He put a safe daily driving tune on there, but recommended that I get the pump installed and get it retuned asap. The question I am wondering is: How do i test to make sure my afpr...
I understand that. I am just wanting to make sure that I am not having any issues with my fuel pressure regulator, so that I will be good to go once I get on the dyno.
Im sure it would run. But probably not very well. E-85 needs 30% more fuel to operate than regular gas. So I am not sure if your fuel system would be able to keep up. I would not recommend it.
I went for a tune not too long ago, and was losing fuel pressure. The tune was adjusted for the lack of fuel. It was thought that my fuel pump was bad, because it was always making high pitched noises and would not stay at a solid pressure while at idle. I replaced the fuel pump a couple days...
235/45/17s will work well. Nittos are good performance tires, but as far as an all season/Daily driver tire, I wouldnt recommend them. i would recommend looking into the goodyear eagle gt. They come in a 235/45 and are a good mix between a performance and all season.
I had a pretty similar setup to you about a year ago. I was tuning with dsmlink, and at about 21 psi on my FP (not big) t-28, i put down 270 on a dynojet. Im sure you could run probably 23+ psi, but that turbo definitely will not hold until redline. Mine would hit 21 psi at like 3k rpm, but drop...
I would definitely not recommend fidanza. I had their 3.2 in my car, and the disk fell completely apart after only 1000 miles of very easy driving. I tried to get a hold of them about it, and they said there is absolutely no written or implied warranty on their products. I now have an act 2600...
Does the needle on the gauge move at all? Is it stuck on empty? Putting an aftermarket fuel pump shouldnt cause any issues. It could possibly be a loose connection, or a broken sensor.
With a higher displacement motor, at the same rpm, there will be more air flowing through the bigger motor than there would be with a smaller motor. So the turbo will spool faster.
Do not go with fidanza, my current 3.2 is having major issues after 1000 miles. I called fidanza, and they said they do not warranty any of their products.
What are your goals? With a safc, you will be able to tune and get some good power gains. With an eprom ecu, you wont be able to do anything different, but if you want to go with dsmlink, you will need an eprom. A pocket logger wont do you any good unless you have some sort of engine management...
I just had the master slave cylinder replaced about 6 months ago. One thing i am not familiar with at all is the transmission area. How would i go about checking for air in the lines? Or narrowing down the possiblities?
I had a fidanza 3.2 clutch installed professionally about a month ago. Today, out of nowhere, the clutch just stops disengaging. The car will not go into gear at all. I try to start it in first gear, and it immediately starts jumping and ready to go. Hopefully its something minor.
