www.slowboyracing.com has banjo bolts you have to request new ones through email or something they arent listed with a price but are mentioned in the turbo options section. I believe normally you just re-use the ones you have...
The turbo boosts perfectly fine. But just recently started making this wierd noise. Kind of a whining sound with some buzzing too it dont know how to explain it. Can definately tell its the turbo or at least something related too it because I can watch the boost gauge as the needle its 0 it will...

262,000 miles here. Maintenance was always done and car was taken care of. Only the normal car things were replaced like alternator, battery, brakes etc. Along with religious timing belt changes.:thumb:
You will be happy to know our cars dont sound like that, EVER unless there is something physically wrong with the exhaust system like metal shavings in the muffler/cheap muffler etc.Dont worry you wont sound like a civic. God knows there is enough of em around here.
All depends on the driver imo. With 2 equally skilled drivers the GSX would win obviously but its very possible to get great launches in a GST. Of course when you start adding more and more power the AWD really helps.
Only thing I can say is check your grounding on the head unit. :confused:Random CELs and loss of power seems like a common problem associated with ECU capacitors leaking though. Was happening to me randomly and replacing my ECU caps fixed it.As far as the headunit causing the problems...
Well buying another motor is all well and good but how the hell am I supposed to get that thing out of there? There are cables and wires and shit where I cannot reach. Any instructions with good pix on the web anywhere?I unbolted the motor the first time I "fixed" it but it wasnt going...
Pulled the panel off and took the switch apart. Cleaned all the connectors put it back together and it worked for about 3 days. Im riding down the road roll up the windows to light a smoke and of course the ####ing window wont roll back down. So I get home, pull the door panel off again inspect...
I would pull your ECU out and check for leaking capacitors.Hear any clicking noises coming from the dash area when this stuff is happening?http://www.tmo.com/howto/ecu1g/caps.htmIf the ECU is cutting in and out its not likely its a bad ground (though I suppose it could happen) more...
"wouldn't surprise me because the 16 year old kid drove the car for 2 months before me."Ahhh christ  :cry:Cant imagine what I would of done to my car had I owned it when I was 16.
Kunkels did good work on my engine. If they have kunkels near you they are parts stores kind of like autozone just focusing more on actual parts rather than dress up items and what not and most of them have machine shops in them as well.
You can get revised lifters here: http://www.extrememotorsports.com/g1cat/engine.htmI believe there is someone you can get them from for like 7 bucks each or something. Someone might know who/where that is but I dont.Either way those are the lifters you need.
"But, how unlikely is it that it could just need a new oil pump and timing belt?"Very unlikely. If the seller thought that it probably wouldnt be for sale right now.
You will need it :laugh:Hey, blessing in disguise it was an automatic. Im not saying autos are worthless a well setup racing auto tranny is a beast but I dont know too many people that actually prefer automatics over manuals at least when it comes to performance cars. At least for us small...
Well they make AWD turbo eclipses too so its not like youre limited to a talon. IMO eclipses look better (2gs anyway, the 1gs all look pretty much the same with minor exterior styling, wings, small factory body kits)If you wanna go fast and do it cheap get a 1G turbo pre 92 (best motor) For...
Correct me if Im wrong here but you have a 1.8 motor right? Thata a Single over head cam engine. The 2.0L is a duel overhead cam you cannot swap heads. At least it wouldnt be easy lol.
Figure 900 for the block rebuild including labor (at least thats what I paid) 300 or so for the head and around 1200ish for the labor to have it all put back in. Unless of course you do it yourself. Add in timing belt, tensioners, balance shaft belts, new gaskets, water pump and anything else...
Dont #### with it.He is right, I would not spend the time and money to get a turbo motor put in, you will need a new tranny, ECU, an intercooler and god knows what else. For the amount of money you would spend putting a turbo 4g63 or even the NT 2.0 motor in that thing you could buy a...
Well from my exp. When a release bearing is worn out it makes more of a sound like a rattling rather than a hiss and also it didnt make noise until I pressed the clutch pedal not while it was in gear. Though that was on a different kind of car so Im not sure what noise it will make on my DSM...
Took a piece of sandpaper and cleaned off all the metal contacts inside the Driver door P/W switch. Works fine. :thumb:Was praying the whole time it wasnt the motor because that thing looks like a PITA to get out.I also fixed another minor problem I had with the power window switch...
Also something else strange happened today. I got in started the car up and the radio was doing its normal thing where its all fuzz for a minute or so. While it was doing that I was trying to get the window to go down hitting the button a few times and everytime Id hit the button the static from...
I never have trouble with the passenger side. Today the drivers side window would not move. The funny part is I just parked it and rolled up the window hung around at a friends house for a while than got in maybe an hour later and the window would not work. Now just as I get home (around 4 am)...
I remember a thread many months back about some jackass young kid who didnt even have his liscense yet got caught by his dad taking the 2g talon up and down the street doing burnouts. I ragged on him about how he drove and he tries to act like he will be a good driver. :shhh:
I had autometer as well never had problems with them. The only thing I can say is check them on the shelf before you buy look at where the needle is setting in when its in the box I noticed a few of them were off by a little, some by alot. One was just sitting at 5 psi instead of 0.I dont...
They are made from Iridium... Ya know the metal that supposed to come from a meteor...Not cracking or anything but does anyone else really believe that? I just cannot justify the cost of them at all.But if you did buy them and paid alot of money (spark plug wise) I could see why you would...
Yah Ill check it out. I just dont want to drive this thing too much. Along with the damage it could cause and the fact I look like a total ass stalled out at a stoplight with 50 people behind me :(
Hmm they have tons of stuff there but Panasonic isnt in the manufactures list and the part numbers I need are:ECA-1HHG470
ECA-1HHG220
ECA-1EHG101Ive found the caps on ebay easily I just hope they get shipped out quickly and the seller doesnt screw around and wait a week before even...
