It is installed using the stock MDP wiring, sensor left unplugged. Reads 9-10psi at idle and pegs at 30psi by 1psi of actual boost. It almost seems like its just an MDP sensor. Here's the log.
Picked up what is supposedly 3bar GM MAP sensor. No part # on the unit, GM stamp on top and it is stamped with103 7270From what I gather, 7270 means either 1997 or 1987 270th day.103 I can't find in any listing for map sensor stamps.1 Bar: 039, 460, 883, 876
2 Bar: 886, 012...
Just to get you started in the right direction...."You have to go for 10 minute long cruises. In that 10 minutes, you should hold the RPM at approx 2500 - 3000 rpm. You should also maintain the same throttle position. Try your best no to disturb the rpm and throttle position. when that's...
#1- Don't launch the car until you have it dialed in.
#2- Dial in the car...meaning, injector deadtimes/global, LTFT/STFT and WOT tuningThere are LOTS of resources in the link forums about this. It MUST be done before you do anything drastic with the car or you could run the risk of doing...
Sounds like you might have an air lock in your system. Take off the rad cap, start the car and see if you get air coming out...just keep refilling with coolant til it stays steady or you are satisfied there is no more air.
Wow, I ran out of breath reading this....one of the longest run on sentences I've seen yet!As for the issue at hand...it sounds like the t-case is heading out. Remove fill plug and add gear oil. If it takes quite a bit, either it was incredibly low since he bought it or your friend has a...
If the ECU is behind the radio as in the 2g's (forgive me I never replaced a 1g ECU yet) I see the MPI relay connector to the right and the Theft-alarm starter relay connector to the left. Both of those would cause you the issues you are experiencing.
If you're running rich I'd check the Front O2 sensor...possibly gone bad. Also, I'd check the tension on the throttle cable. If it's too tight it will "shrink" (for lack of a better word) once the engine warms up thus opening the throttle plate and causing a high idle.
FYI..."if the previous owner has complied with all
the legal requirements and sells the car in good faith, a court may
find that the seller cannot be held accountable for the buyer's lack
of knowledge about the titling and transferring process."This is direct from NY State's Statutes...
Ok, so anyway I thought people should see what the car was when I picked it up from Queen's NY. I paint cars for a living so the paint/bodywork didn't cost me a dime. The factory hood was replaced by an OEM Carbon fibre hood that shattered hence why the VIS EVO hood on it now.As for...
This isn't about my car. However, please enlighten me how my car is rice. Forgive me if I don't have a stock front bumper and if my OEM carbon hood flew off the hood pins and I decided to get a VIS EVO Hood. How does that make my car rice?
As seen on ca.dsm.org the infamous ECLINTEGRA!! Yes that's right...it's in fact an integra.I'm at a loss for words...http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t175/II_Sp1kE_II/fake%20dsm/PhotoMoto0009.jpg
#1 You don't have to take the dash out to fix an electrical issue although it would be easier.#2 Your mechanic band-aided the situation and did not rectify the short which is a big issue for fire. (I'm assuming he didn't seeing as you didn't say otherwise)#3 The only proper way to...
Does the car turn over at all when it won't start? If it doesn't you have a bad starter. My car was doing exactly what you are describing. Turns out the heat of the engine was causing the internals to expand ever so little that it was jamming against the housing. Changed the starter...
Trying to read and make sense of what you're saying....anyway...the plug you're showing is for the coil packs. Unplugged the car will NOT run. You need to test the resistance of the coils to rule out bad coils before getting any further. Check the vfaq on it.
Not trying to hijack this thread but the more I read the more I get concerned. I've installed an EVO3 and removed the BS. Still feeding from the oil filter housing....on the 2g I should still get the feed from the head? I've got no play at all in the turbo and its been about 2 years now. I...
I must admit I'm not all that familiar with the transmission/clutch inner working so this has me confused.1st gear, 2nd gear no problems but when I go to do a 3rd gear pull 2k and up, once 3k is reached it feels like the transmission slips. I stopped right away and thought maybe it was just...
Leave the wire in, remove the spark plug from 1, leave the plug in the wire, crank the motor. Repeat for cylinder 4. This way you ensure proper connections and eliminate the "maybe".I could be wrong here but I'm under the understanding that there must be a "ground" condition along the wire...
1 - (450/New injectors) * 100 = global adjustment at base fuel pressureIn your case, 1 - (450/510) * 100 = 11.7% (12%)As for deadtime, I'm not too sure how to calculate it but based on RC550 that are 180 I'd say 150 would be a safe start point but I would want to confirm that first.
You say no spark at coil pack...do you mean no spark at the other end of the wire FROM the coil pack or are you testing AT the coil pack somehow? To me seeing as you changed everything with known good components, I'd say check your plug wires :) I don't see if you changed them or not...
37psi with vaccuum off is the stock fuel pressure. It should be around 27psi with the line on.But really, with 450's the SAFC should be at 0 with 37psi of pressure with the line off. That would make it completely stock.Of course raising the fuel pressure will make you have to adjust the...
That AFC with a datalogger would be just fine if you don't want to fork out the cash for link just yet.#1 - Get an AFPR, install it, set it.
#2 - Get a datalogger.
#3 - Start tuning...pretty easy with the SAFC once you start.
#4 - Ignore #3 and maybe #2 if you find a speedshop that can tune...
Is the SAFC currently tuned or is the car not running yet?Didn't notice you didn't have an AFPR. That's step 1. frankenstein is absolutely right, shops have the right to prefer tuning with certain devices but there should be no reason at all they can't help you with the SAFC
That depends on how attached you are to the car and what the $5000 entails. If by the end of it you have a streetable monster that you can DD and track, then where else will you get that with 5-6k? In THAT case i'd say its worth keeping it.On the other hand, if its still bone stock and...
check your coil packs resistance would be the first logical place to start. A dying coil pack will still jolt you but could not be providing enough to fully spark.Sounds like you lost 2 cylinders for sure, I'd bet on a bad coil pack...Edit: Oh and I mean check for coils 2-3 seeing as they...
Are you able to use the stock FPR still? If so, I'd try that, zero out the SAFC and look at the trims then.Seeing as 450's are stock and there is no boost at idle therefore airflow should be the same as with a stock turbo (not like it matters for idle but anyway) and I'd expect to see trims...
I know it's not my decision and it's your car....but why? IMO, and once again this is only my opinion and should not interfere with your decision at all, unless you have the rest of the car "themed" to support the design you want on the hood, I think it just won't look good at all.Having that...
Also, correct me if I'm wrong here but if your TPS is not bang on and the ECU never really sees WOT, the O2 would never go open loop therefore never showing you 1v....right?I'd check and adjust the TPS if needed.
hmm just noticed in your post.....48psi at idle???? You could be overrunning your injectors. I was under the understanding that 450 is stock in a 1g.The EVOIII default wg spring being 1bar(14.7psi), 3-4psi higher than stock turbo I'd think you'd need to take air away rather than adding...
I don't understand why change the existing plumbing? Have you eliminated it? If not ,re-use what's there and you should be fine.STOCK water locations:nipple/boss off of the water pipe - stock water return for turbo (front of CHRA, facing radiator)banjo bolt from block - stock water feed...
I had 2 1400cfm slimlines and my electrical did not like me, removed one, electrical now likes me again and it cools just fine. Then again I have no need for 2 as I removed the AC all together. If you're replacing due to failing/failed fans, you should be ok as long as the don't run 100% of the...
