Helical or Straight cut oil gears?

The helical ones are a revised set of gears. They have more surface area on them, allowing for more oil to be flowed at the same rpm than the straight cut gears. I know in my 90 GST it had straight cut, and my 95 GST had the helical ones. In the 95 I was pushing more power than the 90 and I had...

should i trade my 95 eclipse gst for a 95 acura integra GSR

I don't know where all of you guys are getting that DSM's are unreliable. I drive mine 86 miles a day to work and back, 6 days a week, and I have never been stranded. The only maintainence I have done was 4 new tires and a rear wheel bearing in the last 3 months, besides changing the oil. Take...

Haha, yea I know. It came that way when I bought it. Guy I bought it off of put on Eibach lowering springs, 2" drop, but kept the stock shocks. Rides rougher than hell. So 2 days after I bought the car I bought a complete set of Tokico springs/shocks that will bring it up 1". I just don't have...

Car was painted 2 weeks ago. 2 coats of base, 3 coats of clear. I wish I had a better camera, it looks just like glass. Wheels are off a 3G Eclipse, and I have a set of Tokico Illuminas shocks/springs waiting to go on. Not too bad for a $1000 car.

    14b jpipe bolts..

There is a gasket, but I've heard of people using silicone gasket maker and having no trouble with them. If you go with the gasket maker, make sure each area is grease free, or it will not seal. Use brake cleaner on both the compressor housing and J-Pipe to clean it and torque the bolts. Then in...

Bad thing is increased cylinder pressure really screws with these, and makes them crack. Extensive machining is needed to keep these blocks together, or you could just pick...

Pretty much straight forward. There are 3 ears on the wheel hub assembly, take out those three, whack the old bearing assembly with a hammer and it should pop out. Put in the new one, put the 3 bolts back in, then reattach the rotor and caliper and put on your wheel and you are done. Should take...

Need help before track day. I'm smoking

White color smoke generally means coolant burning in the combustion chamber. Headgasket is most likely the culprit, but a cracked cylinder wall will do it as well. Do a leak down test to figure it out. Any oil in the coolant/coolant in the oil yet? Overheating problems?

Need something cleared up about blowing a Honda

Because the cylinder pressures are so high at that psi that anything over 10psi is pushing the limits on the ring lands on the pistons. I have an HCI magazine in front of me and they did a B-Series Boost Bash to see how much power a stock B16A motor will put out on a turbo before something...

    t25 to 14b

Yes, as the 14B has a larger turbine than the T-25. But it makes up for it in the top end. I was reading somewhere that its not turbo itself that cannot boost past 12psi at redline, its the actuator. I think it was RRE that did the article, as they were saying that the spring in the actuator is...

    Oil feed line..plug?

That's what I thought, until I tried putting things together. There was a plastic box, I guess a resonator, that took up about 4 inches of pipe. And with the stock J pipe it put a weird angle on the pipe, and made it difficult to put on. So I took the wife's car to Advanced Auto and bought a...

    Oil feed line..plug?

You will love the 14B over the T-25, as it will hold 15+psi to redline, and pull much harder. Are you using a kit, or are you fabing up your own intercooler piping? I used the factory J-pipe of a 90, then used my s-shaped intercooler hose off the 2G and made a small pipe out if 2" exhaust pipe...

    Oil feed line..plug?

Like I said, I really don't remember what size it was, but for some reason 3/8" sticks in my head. You can take out the fitting right now, not much oil will leak out, and see if your adapter will fit. When you tighten everything down though, use some teflon tape to seal it up good.
  37. perley03

    Oil feed line..plug?

Hmmm...let me think for a bit, it was a while since I have done this... I went to NAPA with the stock fitting and told them I needed a plug. I think it was a NPT 3/8" plug, but not too sure. They were not that expensive, like $0.69 or something like that. But if you can get the factory fitting...

Is this fpr legit? Will it lower my base fuel pressure and rise as i boost?

Agreed. The only thing that will not pop your engine is to not even start it.:D The only thing that makes me wonder is if the FPR shown above will actually regulate fuel pressure and controll it with a 1:1 rise with boost. That would be the only thing that would worry me. I guess having an...

Evo 3 engine- what to do next and how to tune

This is a debatable question with a 190 fuel pump. Some experts say that a 190 pump will not over-run the factory fpr, others say that it will. For the peace of mind, of both ease of tuning, and fear of over-run, I would install one. As far as the dump O2 housing, does it have the O2 bung in...

Evo 3 engine- what to do next and how to tune

You're going to need something to control those bigger injectors. SAFC, MAF Translator, or a custom chip if you have an EPROM ECU. Don't do anything to the MAF sensor, as you need to control the injector pulse width, and just removing the screw won't help much. This is basically used to...
