Could anyone please help? These parts won't last and I would really appreciate if anyone can confirm the parts compatibility between the Galant VR4 and the 1992 Talon.
I found a Galant 1990 VR4 in the junkyard with a very rear clean subframe but I am not sure if it fit my 1992 Eagle. This VR4 still has the transmission and the rear differential.
Does this subframe fits my 1992 Eagle? how about the differential and transmission?
I used a new OEM TOB and a new OEM fork and installed everything as it should be and changed the clutch fluid. I remember rechecking everything and I made sure the TOB bearing clip was seated properly before I mounted the transmission. There is no noise when I press the clutch and it feels as...
I installed and Excedy stage 1 clutch with a new OEM fork, TOB and machined the flywheel as per OEM specs. I never abused it and it worked fine until.
The car was sitting for about six month because of CAS problem that I fixed (See my post In Engine..Section). The clutch is an Excedy Stage 1...
I just had time to check it again and the problem was a bad CAS not my ECU. After changing the CAS, the car runs like a charm except for another problem which I will post a question on the drivetrain section
I already tried an auto ECU as I explained in my previous posts. It start fine and when it warms up, it runs really bad which really makes it not drivable. I know it will probably run fine if I swap 390 injectors instead of the original 450's, unfortunately I don't have them.
Would anyone let me know if the ECU for auto can be made to work on a manual?
I just need to be able to drive the car until I fix my ECU or find a good one.
My ECU is the problem. A friend had one but it's from a FWD auto. I tried to start and the car starts right away but it run really bad so I did not use it. Is there anything I can do to make it drivable until I can find a good ECU?
It's an Eprom so I am thinking about buying it as a spare and...
I will check it this weekend. I checked it about a year ago it looked fine but since it's socketed, it may be what is causing the problem. Is there a way to check if the socket is good besides a visual inspection?
The first time the engine just died while I was driving. It did not want to start right away so I towed the car home. However, it started later that afternoon and was running fine for about two weeks before it just died while driving to work. This time it does not want to start. I checked the...
I am looking for specific OEM parts for my EVO 9 and I was wandering if anyone can recommend a good vendor other than JNZ.
I use to buy my parts from JNZ but I am giving up on them as they basically ignored my last order and they never answered my numerous e-mails or phone calls.
I have been sending e-mails every week and still nothing. I received an e-mail requesting my approval for shipment cost and I approved that through e-mail and then nothing. I have never received an invoice through e-mail as I usually do and my credit card has not been charged. it has been a...
I am using the sales e-mail that Josh uses. I know that one part I ordered for my EVO 9 (console) may take longer to get but I had same situation before and Josh emailed me about the delay even though he was on vacation! That is why I don't understand the silence this time. My credit card has...
Same thing for me too. I have been a customer for over 5 yrs and always had jnz answering my e-mail very quickly. This time however, it has been over three weeks since I placed my order and accepted shipment cost and after three e-mail inquiries , it's a total blackout.
Thanks for the help guys.
The owner of the transmission is not the one who had done the built so I am not sure if he has any document that can prove what he is claiming. I may be able to see it this Sunday and I will check if there is any engraving or stamping.
Besides that, what kind of signs...
I need a transmission and someone has a used one for sale and claims it's a Jack transmission. The owner said that he has the built list but I am not sure if it's an actual invoice. I am going to check it this weekend and would like to know how can we tell if this transmission was really a...
I think the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3's are a good choice for your price range. They are very in the dry and wet and they have a tread warranty of 70k km. Another reason why I prefer the Michelin is that they keep their properties when wear unlike most other tires. I have them and use them only...
Hi Josh96, did you fix this problem? My car started to have the same thing. Most of gauges flicker a bit but you can only see that when it's dark. I have had my alternator checked and it's good.
I am wandering if anyone had solved this problem in a situation where their alternator was not the...
I need to change the rear wheel bearing seal that is on the rear trailing arm but can't get the OEM quickly.
Does anyone have an equivalent part number for a reputable seal brand like National or SKF..etc.
Thanks
My rear brake shields are both rusted and it already cost me a rear rotor and pads. I know they are not available new ( checked with JNZTuning) and I tried the junkyard but they are usually all rusted. I am wondering if anyone has tried a shield from another Mitsu or any other car that can work...
I have been a customer of JNZTuning for over 5 yrs and they always answer my e-mails very quickly. If parts I ordered are going to be late they always informed right away. I am not sure why this is happening to you but try calling and leaving a message to Josh; he answered my questions even when...
The front oxygen sensor is another possibility. Did you get any CEL? If the oxygen sensor is old, it may deteriorate to the point where it can cause either a rich fuel mixture.
I am not sure how to test an oxygen sensor on a 2G. On 1G, you can check the voltage at pin 4 on the ECU. The engine...
Another possibility that sometimes goes undetected is a bad injector electrical connection. It may cause random misfires and in time may cause cat failure. Check if your injector connector is snug and not loose. Clean your injector connectors with an electrical connector cleaner to eliminate bad...
The sound does not seem to be from the timing belt area but it does not hurt to check your crankshaft pulley and make sure the rubber is not broken. Mine broke off and it sounded more like a belt screech.
I would say the cause of melting your cat is temperature due most likely to excessive fuel in the exhaust manifold. Are you running rich ? Do you have any misfire? The noise you hear (clinking sound) are pieces of ceramic that have broken off.
As for your EGT as being "normal", I would say it...
the Digital Controller description says the following:
"Digital controller will manage the operation of the EWP by varying the speed of the pump in response to the coolant temperature and manage control of your electric engine fan"
This does not mean it will cycle the pump; it will increase or...
I usually get my OEM parts from JNZTuning. They have the best prices around and their customer service is great. If you call, ask for Paul and he will recommend all the parts you need. I bought the timing belt, the balance shaft belt, the tensioner, all the idlers and the water pump for about...
This requires the input of a Canadian! We now snow!OK, back to the problem. There is no way to really know how much water got into the engine just by looking at what was accumulated on top of cylinder head. I would definitely recommend the following:
1) Use a shop vac to remove any visible...
It is not the shield that is touching; it the MAS housing. Removing the shield means the filter will be just hanging in the air and that does not address the problem. I was able to get one hole to align and bolt the shield on one side but that still a hack job to me. I don't like do hack jobs...
I finally had sometime this weekend to try to finish the installation and it seems that the gods are against me! When I tried to put back my stock intake pipe, the MAS/Filter hits the new intake pipe. I can't bolt back the filter and it is off by about 2" on the headlight side. I tried to rotate...
I finaly put all the intercooler pieces in place as in the pictures below. Unfortunately the J pipe does not have the nipple for the wastegate actuator. Where do you guys take the wastegate boost feed? Did anyone used the intake manifold as a source and did you have boost creep?
I am actually thinking about cutting AC the line close enough on the straight portion before it curves then use a compression fitting elbow. I will then put the line in the vertical and bend so it goes above the intercooler inlet. I will of course have a shop empty my AC before I try this...
For Aluminum mounts, they do seem small for the weight of the intercooler. I am going to try first to install it is per ETS instructions and see how it will come out. I am not very optimistic about the outcome but the worst that can happen is I will have to modify the AC line and may be get...
I am also thinking that it may be time to change the motor mounts; at least the 2 sides and the front one. I am thinking of using Prothane inserts but from the reviews they are very hard and transmit vibrations. I was also thinking about using Window weld to fill all the mounts and see if it...
Leepen, I like the idea of modifying the AC. There is a shop close by that specialize in making that kind of hose and I will talk to them about it.Agentorange313, my intercooler is a little bit different on how it is attached. Mine has the clips on the end and it get attached to the bottom...
I know that I need to enlarge the "d" holes. But before starting the enlargements, I centered the intercooler and raised it until it touched the bottom of the bumper. I then wanted to mark the location where to start triming. Form my measurement of the intercooler and the location of the "d"...
I finally had time to install my ETS street intercooler and after some pre-fitting, I found that the AC lines interfere with the intercooler on both sides.
Are we supposed to bend those lines out of the way? Do we need to bend the sides of the sheet metal to be able to fit the inlet and outlet...
