    SOLID front/rear aluminum motor mounts!

Sheesh, if I knew these would be such a big deal I would have kept my biglady112 mounts before selling my Talon.

    Erratic STFT and LTFT

I wish I could say I did, but I really never got anything to make 100% sense. I wound up selling the car last summer. Different throttle positions at different RPMs yield too wide an array of trim numbers to get it all aligned perfectly... all on a stock 2g maf, i/m, and tb.

Quitters- soon ghosts to us (selling/sold my DSM)

Haha, thank you! I hope so too, it could go either way... he is young and I tried to give him as much advice for the car as possible. We'll see!

Quitters- soon ghosts to us (selling/sold my DSM)

So after 6+ long years I finally sold the Talon. I was 19 when I bought it bone stock from a used car dealer and a 19 year old just drove it away. I have spent countless late nights on that car and it was finally time to move on. This car brought many headaches, but also many fun times and I...

North Jersey Meet - Wednesday Nights - White Castle

I will be, I won't be there next week (vacation), but the meet will be large. Last night wasn't that great because of the very cold weather, but it doesn't look like it will be cold next week.

    2G Timing Gear Adjustment Issue

It really would make zero sense to me. I just loosened the nuts on the gear and turned the cams 4 degrees each using a wrench on the cam gear bolt.

    2G Timing Gear Adjustment Issue

So I finally am adjusting my cam gears. I started off with +4 and -4 (exhaust/intake). Adjustment went fine, but now I'm getting noise (a whine sort of) from the cam gear area and my timing belt is tighter than it was before. Is it possible the belt is tighter now and causing noise? If so, how...

    PTE 6262SP Airflow Experience

In a full weight 2g AWD? I don't know if 500whp is going to trap 130 on a crappy launch.Car is still down although i'm a good way through with the trans. I have been so busy and the cold has been on and off (this weekend on).
  13. mnetwork

    PTE 6262SP Airflow Experience

That is true, but to trap 130 you have to be making very decent power. I'd say around 600whp maybe a little less?

    PTE 6262SP Airflow Experience

There are two things that make me wonder though... One, I know someone very personally who had a 2.0 (better head and cams than my motor) and ran a bolt-on PTE5862sp (when they had those kinds of combos available) and he was running around 30psi on E85 and he trapped a hair under 130mph. So a...

    PTE 6262SP Airflow Experience

Swapping out the housing would mean new housing, new manifold, new o2 housing and new/modified downpipe. I'm not convinced that I would be getting the airflow numbers that I should be just by doing that, so I am reluctant to do this. I have never tried adjusting my cams, but I doubt that I could...

    PTE 6262SP Airflow Experience

I am running a Dejon Tool FMIC with smaller piping, 2g TB, and 2g I/M. I still don't think it should be that bad. I run the car at low 30's psi now and it is fast, but nowhere near as fast as it should be for the turbo. Compression numbers are fine also.

    PTE 6262SP Airflow Experience

I run a Hafe manifold with 38mm Tial off of the manifold, nothing special.I haven't had the car on the road since late October, I broke 4th gear while doing a highway pull. I just got my trans back last week from Jack's, hoping to start putting it tomorrow.

    VW/Audi/Porsche Flashing

I have been wondering this for a long time now and I'm finally going throw it out there... As many of you know, Euro cars are rarely ever self tuned and many of them don't have self-tuning options like we do. Because of this those drivers are forced to purchase flashes (or chips for the older...

FWD Trans Just Lost 5th Gear

Alright, I wound up buying a gallon of some cheap Pep Boys brand 80-90 gear oil and did two flushes with it and a little leftover MT-90. Last flush didn't really yield any flake. Took the car for a drive, 5th and reverse are shifting nice and smooth along with all other gears. The car is finally...

FWD Trans Just Lost 5th Gear

I was able to source some used parts to fix the trans. The trans is now all back together. I filled it with fluid, but had my doubts about the cleanliness of it, so I ran the car with the wheel off the ground, went through the gears a few times and shut it off. I then then popped the drain plug...

FWD Trans Just Lost 5th Gear

Spent about an hour trying to get the roll pin out without breaking anything. I don't know how to get that out (with the trans still in the car) correctly. I could only do it from outside to inside, because there is no room to do anything else. The roll pin did run into the slider. I had to...

FWD Trans Just Lost 5th Gear

I'm still a little confused on how you remove the roll pin? Are you supposed to push it outward or inward? If inward, how? Because it seems like it would hit the syncros. If outward, how do you get a punch behind it with the syncros in the way?

I didn't know if you saw something specific in the pictures. I will take a close look and report back.I just checked and the reverse cone is definatley fine. My concern now is getting the roll pin out. You say I have to put it in reverse and put pressure on the reverse syncro? When I put...

FWD Trans Just Lost 5th Gear

After seeing the price of a cover, I'd rather just buy a new cover. I would probably get charged the same just to repair it. I don't weld and I'm not sure if any of my friends weld aluminum.I know these aren't set prices, but the 5th gear set here adds up to $261.91. Jack's lists the EVOIII...

FWD Trans Just Lost 5th Gear

After looking at pictures of how the gear is held on and the location, I would be inclined to agree with you. I would be very happy if that's all it was. That would be great. I'll either pull the cover today or tomorrow and know for sure what is going on.

FWD Trans Just Lost 5th Gear

If something happened to 5th gear, would it be POSSIBLE that the cover could be welded/replaced and that 5th gear coudl be replaced without pulling the trans? The rest of the transmission was driving and shifting perfectly all the way home.

I was fine tuning the car tonight with long 4th gear pulls to red line. I had just finished a pull, pulled over to tweak the map, and started slowly driving off. Where are the FWDs at????

Just another LSD Insert. I had one and I was only making low 300s whp when I blew my open dif on slicks on my 2nd launch. Blew a tooth right through my bell housing. These don't add any strength to your dif, they only give you a little bit more traction.

I actually just filled the car up on some old 93 octane. I wanted to drive it around a little more lately and the E85 was getting annoying. I'll probably be on pump for a few tanks. I'm going to try to dial in the car and do some tuning tonight so I should have some pump gas numbers for you.
