Hmm,It's probably best to keep PVC out of the engine bay, Unless it's absolutely necessary ;-)The flex tubing could be an ok solution for a little while. Make sure it's not touching anything too hot.I would go with something like this though...WEAPON-R AIR INTAKE 89-94...
Well,You won't be able to mend old deteriorating rubber, taping it so un-metered air doesn't get in through those cracks is your best bet for now...If it was me I would head down to the junk yard and try to find one there. If not it sounds like the perfect time to upgrade to a aftermarket...

Blue on deceleration: Valve stem seals

You could try something like this, A flexible radiator hose has a little more structure so it doesn't kink like that. If not I would go with the U piping.Spectre/1 1/2 in. i.d. x 25 in. L SSteel-Flex flexible radiator hose (5825) | Radiator and Heater Hose | AutoZone.comSpectre/Magna-Kool...
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/272369-eliminating-abs-merged-8-8-removing-deleting-delete-take-off.htmlIt's a pretty involved process. You may need a parts car or have to go to the dealership for the non-abs parts. I hope to do it soon myself.Good Luck
Update,Put the old pcv valve back on and it' still leaking under boost. So, I guess coincidentally my oil cap gasket went out when I changed my Valve Cover. Thanks for all the responses.
Still holding ok. The JB is more just to hold the cable cover to the firewall then an actual mechanical purpose. Not trying to be ghetto just following the write up which calls for welding or JB. I drove it for a bit with no JB weld on it at all to begin with and it worked ok.Wasn't expecting...
The dipstick does come out under boost, before the new Valve cover. But that thing looks pretty old so I have some wire holding it now.At this point I am going to put the old pcv back on and see if that helps. I'll keep you guys posted.Unfortunately at this moment I don't have everything I...
Is leaking oil cap symptom of a bad PCV?I think I might have the one from the old Valve Cover still. I guess I could try that one. Or maybe the old one is bad because it wasn't keeping pressure that it should so the oil cap wasn't leaking?Heh, kinda going in circles here.
Here's what I got...I picked up a new VC from a junkyard, Mine was ugly. I found this one on the ground so it was pretty dirty. It had some dirt and sand on the inside of the cover as well. I took it to a car wash and sprayed it with de-greaser and cleaned it up. Also took some q-tips and...
Myself and others are using 1 1/4 radiator flex hose from the parts store. It works pretty well and is inexpensive. Here's a thread with a pic in it..http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/111607-bov-recirculation-hose-where-get.html
So I found this write up and decided to give it a try...http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-parts-fabrication/298198-how-make-short-direct-link-throttle-cable.htmlMy cruise didn't work anyways. The mod went pretty smooth, took about 2 hours of fiddling with stuff but here's the...
The person who has my car before me put on an EBAY short shifter. I guess he did it wrong because it was kinda just flopping around when you would shift LoL. I tightened it up with some washers and rubber bushings. Kinda have to pull the shift boot and see whats up. If worse comes to worse you...
My starter went out on me. I had a good battery but the car would not crank at all. When I would tap the starter it would crank over a few times then stop. So I knew the starter was bad at that point. These pics were taken when Installing the new starter, but for the sake of the write up I will...
Check for the factory boost gauge on the inside. I am guessing it's a 4g63 non turbo if the only markings you're seeing on the car are reading DOHCAlso, non turbo's the intake piping goes from the intake manifold to the left of the engine bay to the filter like the top picTurbo's piping go...
Wow, Nice work. I just got my passenger window to roll down recently but I took a different route and pulled a switch from the junk yard. When I bought the car the window lock button wasn't even there.
You say there is smoke coming out, but from where and what color?
Thats a tough call man, I feel your pain. It's a bummer to spend money on something thats not working correctly. Is the seller willing to work with you at all? Maybe you can bring it to the shop where the mods were done.Also...
Not yet, it comes and goes. I have to do some more searching on it. I still have that green wire unplugged at the throttle body because my car won't run with it plugged in.
UPDATE!After another junkyard run and some spray paint I have this thing looking decent. Picked up a shift knob from 93 Altima, Which is cool because thats the last car I had so it has sentimental value. I was stoked to see it threaded on and looks great.Picked up the back center tail...
They sell degrease in a can at Autozone. May sound kind of strange but a toilet brush works really well for scrubbing dirty car parts. It's long, with a handle, and has pretty stout bristles that won't scratch up or damage stuff. Plus they're really cheap.Thats if you're going to do it...
Your local junkyard is the best bet. Really low prices and it's pretty fun to go treasure hunting there heh heh. Other than that E-bay and The classified ads here. Also you can try DSMsource.com Forums - Powered by vBulletinGood Luck.
Damn deer. They wait in the road and jump out of the way then watch and laugh as cars swerve out of control. I think it's a game they play when they're bored. Heh Heh.Could have been worse. Every thing happens for a reason man.
Mines on all the time. It's really annoying. I've heard if the sensors get frayed or damaged it will set off the anti lock light. But I have no idea where the sensors are.
Ok guys,Thanks for your replies. I went back to the car this morning. I popped the hood and just kind of made sure everything looked legit. I disconnected and reconnected the electrical plug going to the coil pack. Looked dry. So I got in and it started right up on the first crank. :rocks...
I did the searches but to see what to do next but, I can't really sleep because I'm still pissed off so figured you guys would get a laugh out of this.Took the Talon to the car wash to degrease the motor. Bust out some plastic grocery bags and cover the air filter and the CAS. Wash the engine...
So yeah, About to do this my car. My intake tube has a lot of oil inside it. Do you have to empty the excess oil from the catch can as routine maintenance?
