MaubeThat could be a possibility. It has a flat spot machined on the shaft behind the hole. Most speed sensors I've seen read off the compressor wheel though.
Well I dropped the dime on the gt2259. If I can figure out how to post a pic from my phone I will but its got a weird hole about 1/4" diameter drilled and tapped into the chra. You can see the turbine shaft through the hole. No idea what it could be for.
Yeah the s2a is small because it was built for a caterpillar earth mover with a 4.4l engine. The h1c is the stock one from the 4bt and no idea what the gt2259 came off of. I have actually checked out its compressor maps though and it seems to be pretty efficient on the 3.9 Isuzu, even intercooled.
I've got a lead on an h1c and a gt2259. Both are non wastegated. H1c is of course cheaper but the question is which one would have more aftermarket turbine housing options. Thanks Justin.
I got it for $120. did a lil measuring and the compressor is about 40x61mm and the turbine is about 49x61mm. the best info i can find says the housing is .90a/r. i just cant find any offerings for other stock turbines for this thing. i know the nissan patrol used a .53 wastegated housing and...
Well I got a steal on a new in box borg warner. The box says model number s2a. The tag on the chra says p/n 114-3601. I cant find any specs with these numbers and im pretty sure im going to need a smaller turbine housing. Rough estimate the turbine is about 10mm bigger than the t25 and it has a...
I kinda had a DSM flashback and considered a t28 compressor but that's a little more expensive to accomplish than I was hoping. The t25 has extensive compressor damage so it can't be ran without a build and compressor. I'd really just hate to spend that kind of money on a t25. I'm kind of...
Hey Justin. I'm on a diesel project and would like to pick your brain if ya don't mind. Its not DSM related so I hope I'm not breaking any rules. The engine I have is an Isuzu 3.9 liter 4bd1t. It came from a box truck. Stock output is 126 HP 250 lb tq. The stock turbo is a tiny t25. This engine...
Hey bogus Im not saying you are wrong I'm just curious. I've always believed and was taught not to run a larger end gap on the top ring than the 2nd ring because it causes the gasses/pressure to get trapped between rings and can cause ring landing failure.
My family and friends make fun of me for naming my kids after my cars but I just tell em they don't understand the passion we fave for the diamond star brats. My girl was thinking about naming this one acura after our nsx but I wasn't having it.No man its no joke. Talon was the first one. He's...
Lmao that's pretty good. No the next one will be adopted. We have 6 kids now. As soon as we leave the hospital I'll go home and post pics. I'm thinking Turbo Laser will be his name.
Lol Think about how cool a little boy would feel telling his teachers his name was laser. I can't put pics on here from my android. It used to but I can't get it to now.
Well its official. Addela Eclipse Clark will be induced at 7:15 A.M. I never got to introduce the talon I got 4 years ago. His name is Talon Decoda Clark. Now only one more and I'll have the trio.
This thread makes my head hurt. No in short you can not use OEM 2g pistons to make a 2.3 stroker without a 6mm shorter rod and a lot of unnecessary block work. First off why do you want a stroker? Were you told by a sick fast buddy that it's the way to go for stupid fast fly speed? If so punch...
I second the NGK bpr6es. Never had any luck with Bosch on these. Our engines like the plain old NGK plugs and fresh ones at that. Gap em and keep fresh ones in it for the best outcome. I don't mean replace them every time you turn around just understand the amount of heat they are subject to...
Are you positive that you are aligning all 3 timing locations? Crank and both cams? Doesn't sound like timing. If timing is off it will be a consistent problem. It will not come and go with driving.
Angle is the same just count the teeth and make sure they are the same. Only worry is that once the two gears have worn into each other they can wear more prominatly against another gear.
Run a compression check. A lot of times they will start fine with a blown headgasket if they have been sitting for a while because the cylinder has dried out. Then when you shut it off the coolant flows back into the cylinder and wets the plug etc.
Check your caliper pins. Never mind. Just realized you said fluid sprayed when you cracked the bleeders. The lines are definitely in question. Also must ask. Does it have abs?
OK man. I'm guessing that since you're east of LA that you probably get hotter than dammit in the summer. The real questions are is this car your dd and if so are you willing to sit in hour car with the windows down in traffic when its 98 outside. I live in humid ass tn and only have two (out of...
That is correct but the ignition timing being 180 out doesn't matter if its 180 out unless you're tuning etc, and need to identify a cylinder. Our cars use a waste spark ignition.
Yes do it proper. It will run slightly different 180 out but just listening to it run you won't be able to tell a difference. The problem is that you're injectors are firing 180 out and the gas is just pooling at the valve waiting for it to open and that doesn't do well for proper atomization...
Man I wish you had the time and skills to do an evo 8 twin scroll setup. Definitely one of the most fun setups I've had on my red talon. All it really takes is an eBay manifold and the ability to make your own o2 housing downpipe and some radiator rearranging.
You should always pull a vacuums on the system when charging. Its not just to create a vacuum for the refrigerant to fit in its to boil out moisture that can freeze and cause damage.
Not impossible at all. Its not that hard to get off center by .0175 ive personally witnessed a local shop trying g to set up a Bridgeport to mill the rod end for bushings and was eyeballing it. Very easy to eyeball 17 thousandths off.
Also could be shift fork roll pins. Kinda nostalgic now 14 years later when weak shift fork roll pins aren't a big discussion anymore. We here actually found that heavy clutches combined with driver inexperience was breaking forks and pins. Couldn't tell you the last time we've ran steel forks.
Hey Justin. I'm putting together another compound setup. Goal is a small 16g or 14b with an hx40. Would you recommend a six blade hx40 or maybe a batmowheel setup? I'm having a hard time finding anything but 8 blade 40s. Even goldfarb hasn't been much help.
