    Thanks guys. I wiped off all the lube off w/a shirt. I didn't use any cleaning agent, but just the wipe should be sufficient right? Thanks to this site and all the helpful members, I was able to complete the rebuild and hopefully this is the last time I have to do this.

    You should be well prepared w/a cometic MLS hg w/the arp head studs. Cometic is cheaper than the Mitsu. You'll be fine w/a milled head. Just make sure to clean the block deck and if needed sand down w/a very fine (2000, not sure) grit sand paper w/an aluminum bar. I had Zero leaks w/the MLS...
  5. Determining why compression is bad

    Might be a snapped timing that bent up some valves, bad valve seals, rings, detonated piston lands or a head gasket. Even so, I'd pick it up as long as the body and other components are in good condition. Just buy it and sell that 7 bolt long block for a few bucks or trade for a 6 bolt block...

    Maybe you'll spool a bit faster and reduce lag but i highly doubt the cost justifies the gain and that service cost could be spent for mods w/greater impact in gains. Unless you're going for a record breaking dsm or just a machine specialist who's looking to experiment. Good luck :thumb:

  11. Just did a rebuild....Now car cranks but wont start

    When I swap in my motor I had the same cranks but no start symptom as you. I realized that it was my ecu that was bad. Also, the wire harness for the injector resistor and something else has the exact same plug so triple check that connection.

    The eprom Ecu is the original that came w/ the car. It was repaired for damages caused by a slight cap leak. The ecu was repaired for any damages associated w/the leak by dsmlink place.

    sold the 1g mas. The only possible damage I can recall is when the tranny mount was pushed against the wire bundle. I'll have to check around that area for any wire exposer or brakage.
