How much do you love your car?If this is your baby, then you should be able to put humpty dumpty back together with parts from a u-pull it or from a local part out. This may not be the cheapest solution though, and your car may not drive the way it used to.Smart money is to buy a clean shell...
I like upgrades that are functional as well. So I'd suggest carbon fiber or fiber glass body parts with plexi glass, FMIC, lightweight wheels, proper race suspension, retrofit led head and tail lights, lip and diffuser, a good paint job goes a long way. Honestly these cars don't need to much to...
Given that your car is completely stock (assuming your profile is correct), I would recommend selling that BOV since it is overkill for a car with no modifications, and buying a cheaper crushed 1g bov or something of the sort, and using the money to upgrade other areas of the car. Besides...
Great Scott!! The headlights on that evo are sweeet man!! Would probably look great with the 2GB lights since they have some straight lines which these led lights (being rectangular) seem to be a good fit for.
I've noticed there is a newer types of headlights out and was wondering how much easier or harder it would be to retrofit these into our cars. Has anyone done it? Any thoughts?
I heard it's possible to go W2A for road racing but I would need something the size of an additional fuel cell just for the coolant, and then you have to wire the pump and it just seems like so much work and also the additional parts means there are more things that can fail.
I wish that...
Yeah, it definitely looks like this manifold is made for a water to air setup but I'd like to road race the car a couple times a year. I hope I can find a way around the turbo sticking out like that.
Im open to accept suggestions from people who haven't run this particular manifold as well. I'm mostly interested in how I can get an air to air intercooler to work, since the car will not be limited to the drag strip.
Thanks for the reply donniekak. I am aware it will most likely require custom work. What I'm asking is if anyone has used this manifold on here, and how they did the custom work. I've uploaded an image from the shearer site.
I'm seriously looking into this manifold, but was curious if anyone here has run it and most importantly what route was taken for intercooler and radiator?
Were you experiencing any of the lag before the turbo swap? I had the same thing happen to me on a project last year. I ended up swapping to a good 14b and problem solved. At the boost level you are running I wouldn't even upgrade turbos yet
Sounds like you're on the right track. Just from personal experience I'd recommend installing forged products into your rebuild since an OEM rebuild and a forged one is surprisingly not too different in price if they are done right. I'd also recommend an mls head gasket while you're at it...
Thanks for the great reply. I'm looking to be around 800 Hp but was very concerned about the rods. I had just never seen an h rod break nor heard of one breaking from power alone. I did read on other forums that rpm is more detrimental than high output such as through engine braking. Any truth...
I've looked and somebody has asked this question before but got no reply.I am wondering if anyone has actually seen with their eyes an Eagle H beam rod break due to too much power? I'd also like to know how hard people have pushed them. Not to be confused with broken rod due to improper...
I know this is a Borg Warner I heard it's an S300 series but I'd like to know more about it since there are different types in that category. Maybe someone can help me make some sense of the numbers engraved on it?? Anyone running this turbo? If so what's your opinion on it? Any help is appreciated.
Like the title states. I'm looking for a good quality side exhaust but I can't find any. Just people running a 3.5" - 4" pipe through the side bumper mostly.
Thanks to everyone for your replies. I actually was gifted these last year and had been using them as expensive pen holders.
Where would I sell these? eBay?
I felt that way when I first started going, but I soon realized MOST of them were really nice guys that were putting some serious power on their DSM's and were happy to help me out. :thumb:
When signing up new clients I can go into the policy and select a rarely used option for "modified vehicles" as long as you have receipts for your parts you are covered at NO additional cost!
I remember when I was with GEICO they wanted a breakown of every single upgrade with receipts and they...
Hey guys I'm now working for State Farm as a financial specialist. I've always had a problem with insurance companies charging me up the @$$ for full coverage on my DSM's because of the additional upgrades I have on my car(turbo, intercooler, CF hood, etc..). I just found out we can fully insure...
+1 These issues are usually solved in simpler ways than what was suggested. I would check how much you are boosting (did he install an inadequate boost controller?), do a BLT, and if that doesn't help let us know.Good luck :thumb:
