I am trying to put my 1g awd back to stockish condition and the spare tire with the accessories have long been gone. I went to the local junkyard and picked up a a spare tire and scissor jack. However, I can not remember where the scissor jack and the accessory bag are mounted. Unsurprisingly...
I have also been having some intermittent cranking issues lately and today the fuse block that I was using to replace the factory one for the 3 fuses on the battery melted. It had to have been a loose connection to create that much heat but the screw was still tight when I took it off. Anyway...
I believe it is lower but I'll check again to make sure. Since I last posted I have changed the coolant to water ratio to about 20% coolant and 80% water. I pressure tested the system and the did appear to have a very slow bleed down on the needle but I couldn't find any leaks. I have considered...
I have about a 50/50 mix of coolant to water with no additives. Currently there is no ducting to the radiator. I have considered making some ducting but since I haven't seen a lot of people daily driving with scirocco radiators I am not sure if it will work. I hadn't originally planned to daily...
I am having a problem with overheating during long trips or if I am running a lot of errands. I added to heater core back into the loop recently as well. Within the last year or 2 have have replaced to theromstat (180*), water pump, and the radiator cap. The wiring for the thermo switch for the...
I need to repair some stuff that was rigged on my fuel feed line. I want to replace the whole line, which really isn't that hard, but I am curious as to what do people do with the old stock line. I have heard of some leaving it there disconnected and some using it as a return. But I have not...
I thought it was leprechauns that destroyed engines, but the light is supposed to look like a radiator and let you know if you are low in coolant. As mentioned here:

I haven't been up to coastal plains in a few years but I have been meaning to get back up there. I had 12v everywhere when I have the wire to the start solenoid connected to the multimeter alone. When I tried to measure the voltage to the start solenoid while cranking I noticed that it dropped...
I had a similar problem with getting mine to crank. Here is the thread where I posted what I found. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/electrical-tech/467747-random-cranking.html
I think I found the problem. I could only trace the volatge drop on the starter solenoid side. I found that this connection had a bit of corrosion in it and once I repaired it the car did not seem to have a problem starting on demand. Thanks, for all the help.
I didn't get a chance to get to my car today but I did find some info in the manual.I pulled the side panels off the center console to see if I could feel the clicking on a relay. I found that the black box in the picture was doing the switching. If you pull off the side carpeted panels it is...
Oh sorry, I saw the 96 nt in your profile and assumed that it was what you were referring to. I check on my 1g tomorrow, but I am pretty sure it is under the radio but above the mpi relay. I'll try and get a picture.
I have the same 1/0 welding wire that I was using for the battery relocation except it is only about 2 ft long. I grounded the negative to the transmission and the positive is connected straight to the starter. The alternator is not hooked up at the moment. I didn't notice any voltage drop in...
I am having a problem getting the car to crank consistently. When it does it starts and runs fine. I moved that battery from the back of the car to the front subframe to eliminate some possibility of voltage drops causing trouble. The battery is at 12v and my charger says that it is still good...
I found this on their website.
http://www.fullthrottletech.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=301&d=1151351071I used the 1g version of it when I wired mine.
I have the same unit except it is on a 1g. That is the way is comes new. You will have to splice into some wiring but it is not too hard to do. I'll see if I can fin some of my notes for you.
It would look something like the one found in this thread.
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/253120-capacitor-leak-repairable.html
But you would want to check around all three capacitor for leakage. Post some pics of it if you are not sure when you get it open.
I tried to find the problem today but I couldn't duplicate the gripe. I recheck most of the wiring harness and I didn't notice anything that stood out. I took the old starter get tested at advance auto since a friend was working tonight. The plunger shot out but it did not spin. It is possible...
The previous owner did have a push button start switch installed poorly. I removed it a long time ago but I think I might have to go over that area again. I will also check for the reminisce of an alarm system. If their is one in there it would explain why the pc680 batteries would drain so fast...
OK, my car is not cranking all the time. When it does it starts and runs "ok" considering the lack of fiav and isc. The engine does turn over sometimes, it seems to crank more often after the car is warmed up. The battery is in the rear of the car with a cut off switch and circuit breaker. I...
I am trying to replace a leaky diff axle seal on a 1g eclipse but I can not get the axle out far enough. I did get it to pop out of the differential and the 4 bolts unbolted. I have tried a punch and 3lb hammer to try and separate the 4 bolt flange but I couldn't get anything to move. Both the...
Well you could try this
RRE Web Cam Installation Instructionsit is reviewed hereRemoving Head without doing the timing belt?? - Club DSM CanadaWith that being said I would side with bryanwheat and just redo the timing. It is not that hard and you know the tension is correct when it...
I have never used either of these but you can find them almost everywhere. The last one in the list seems like it is very easy to use. I might try it out soon.Universal OHC/OHV Overhead Valve Spring Compressor Tool | eBayAmazon.com: CTA Tools 2235 Overhead Valve Spring Compressor Kit...
I had the same problem with some DKS camshafts that I bought used. I took them to a machine shop and got charged way too much for them to remove the dowel. I was thinking of taking a nut with the ID about the same as the dowel and welding it to the dowel. I would have welded on the inside of the...
Crap, I have been saving up for a kit. I was going to do it when I did my subframe bushings. But check out this link for some DIY stuff. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/254735-dss-trailing-arm-toe-eliminator.html
This is the one that I have. It is a little lighter than what you were looking for but it is a nice looking leather knob.Car Mate U.S.A. / RAZO Shift WR Spec Leather
It looks like the middle BW wire goes to the ignition switch then to the power transistor and splits to the ignition coil. and the other BW wire goes to the fuel pump. Technically the fuel pump check connector first but I don't know where that is. In the schematic, in the link, look at pins 2...
I can't figure out how to copy just 2 pages of a pdf files but one wire there goes ignition coil/power transistor and I believe it connects to ecu pin 110 through the ignition switch. The wire next to it goes to the fuel pump. It looks like the center one goes to the power transistor and the...
Check out this thread for more info, where to buy, install,etc.... Page 9 has a good pic by Calan showing the samething you are trying. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/newbie-forum/229338-stupid-pcv-question.html
Make sure you install the check valve with the vacuum side toward the valve cover.
The only place that you might consider a check valve would be in the PVC or breather lines. So that you will not pressurizes the crankcase. Everything else should have an unobstructed line. Oh and the brake booster already has one in it.
What happened to carolinadsm.com? The site has been down for a couple days. I saw that it went down in 2010 for a while and had everybody worried. Anybody know if it is gone or just remodeling?

Let them know what happened and if it is a legit copy they should be able to hook you up. That is what I did when I bought mine used. I don't remember what info they asked for though, it has been a while since I did it. But I think there is a...
