@chrysler kid I think you got it wrong.Evoscan is basically a Datalogger which you pay for. There's different cables you can use to get it to run. This one is used for logging different parameters.ECUflash its a free open source software to be able to flash ECUs. Most DSM black boxes...
@chrysler kid I agree with you on that. I don't trust those tanks with the silicone straw either. Im going for a full aluminium one like the mishimoto. I just wanted to know if I could use an overflow tank with just 1 nipple on the bottom and a little vent hole on the top.Either way If I buy a...
I was wondering if this kind of overflow tank will work on our cars. System is a bit different than our stock system though.Maybe drilling a little hole on top so It can vent if necessary?Thank you.
@DogWhistle Yes, I saw that thread too. I will probably try it and report back. Thanks! Here's some threads if anyone needs the info:https://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/evoscan-vag-409-1-cable-not-responding.465468/...
@97egl I do live in central america but everyone here buys online parts in the US. We have plenty of freight forwarding services that offer physical addresses in Florida so we buy from Amazon, ebay, and any website around. It would be impossible to build any car without buying from the US...
I'm looking to do some logging in my 2g DSM (95).I saw that many people are running Ecmlink nowdays which I'm sure its a great tool but I don't want to spend as much for it now. Apparently many pocketlockers and cables are now discontinued and I don't really like how low the logging samples...
@97egl man, thats some nice info! thanks a lotWhere can I buy those brands online? What others brands are available if you can provide them so I can search
@Justin DuBois Please let me know or post a review once you have them installed. It will be helpful!@MindBlowin03 laying down 700 hp? nice! are you on a stock rear diff?@m1nd64m3 Good to know. I'll probably try them.
I want to replace my rear diff bushings but I read somewhere that going full aluminium can lead to premature failure of the rear differential as well as adding a lot of annoying drivetrain noises.I saw that Gsx-dude sells some rear diff mounts with polyoxymethylene bushings. How do these...
@XC92 ahh ok, thanks for the info!@jdxnc I probably don't even need a rebuild but just to be on the safe side I want to freshen it up. Especially for a car that has 25 years. Thanks for all the valuable info.
Guys, thank you very much for the valuable information.@jdxnc have you tried those GMB 220-0107? I see that you you are 9's.. that's impressive! Are you on OEM U joints or those aftermarket?@XC92 Thanks a lot for the info. I will look into Amayama.
Long time Dsmer coming back after many years. I recently bought a beaten 2g and I'm slowly rebuilding it. I want to make sure I can bring engine/drivetrain and anything else up to spec.I found out that DSM's are now short on some OEM parts and I'm looking to rebuild my driveshaft from 0 so I...
I did this swap a while back... i had a 90 engine harness and i swapped it for a good 91-94 one.. i had to splice wires inside the car. Basically, you just splice the wires that have the same colors on both harnesses and put it together. There would be some unused wires. No cel here, and its...
To me it looks like an early centerforce clutch (different than the new ones). Ask me if i know, ### i had one, same pressure plate in orange and same kind of disk, and it doesn´t look like a hack job, centerforce has this kind of design on their discs. As a matter of fact, if im not wrong...
I have been doing some homework before getting some springs for my 1g AWD. I cant find anything that would suit my needs. The eibach pro kit for awd´s apparently is discontinued, the Tein has a very weird drop (more on the back than in the front) H&R seems to low for my taste, same as for megans...
Yes, oil inside the runners and outside, in the manifold and gasket. I started the car today without the manifold (lots of noise). And i let it run for a couple of mins till it got hot, i inspected the head after i turned it off, and there was oil in the runners and also in the turbo flange...
Yes, i reused the headgasket :D i know im cheap. The head was rebuilt not long ago i dont know how many miles havent checked that, but its definatly not lube, its pure engine oil, the manifold gasket was covered in oil as well as the manifold itself. Im not leaking any coolant, as a matter of...
Ok, so i have oil on my exhaust runners. Head was rebuild recently, with supertech bronze valves, supertech seals, evo springs and retainers. I have oil in 3 runners, 2 of them closest to the timing belt and the one just next to the water pipe, the second one from left to right is just clean, no...
I´ve been having a lot of alternator problems lately, first of all, my voltage was dropping and not charging the battery, i found out that it was because the nut that held the wire loop, was coming loose, now i replaced the Voltage regulator, and apparently, the stud that holds the wire loop...
Im also interested on knowing about this issue. I recently bought some used evo 7-8 pistons for better compression, i would be mad if they wouldn´t fit. I have not installed them yet, as i know i need to machine the rod.
i recently replaced my oil pump, and installed the timing belt again. The problem i have now, is that my timing belt is to hot to touch, if i put my hand after running it hard, i can burn my hand, i have not tried doing so just by cruising around. Let me know if there might be something wrong...
The problem is not the engine, im pretty sure its the drivetrain. I know my engine, i have rebuilt it myself, and its been done properly, so i know the difference. Thanks for the advice though.
The reason i say this, its because i have a friend who has a 91 dsm, bone stock no upgrades at all, and his car just drives fine, it feels a lot more responsive than mine, and im not talking about boost or anything like that, im talking about how heavy the car feels. Ive driven his car too and...
Hi, i have a 90 eclipse gsx. I have been on the forums searching and searching and i have not been able to get any straight answer to my problems. I decided to post in reference to my issues. First of all, i feel my car very sluggish, and what i mean by this, is i feel it being very heavy, and i...
I dont post much in the forums, but i must say that you are very knowledgeable, when it comes to trannies. You should be a wiseman. Make sure you keep being around to help others. Thanks for your support in this community. Once again your knowledge is invaluable.
No matter how stock the car is, it should be able to rev to redline with no problems. The issue with 1g´s is their very sensitive knock sensor that can pickup any kind of noise + the agressive timing they came with from factory. This cars have almost 20 years, and even though you may have done...
Sounds like knock, you might be running lean somehow, maybe if you modded the maf. 1g´s run pretty lean, their timing is very agressive from the factory. Check your timing and make sure is dead on (ignition timing), also check that the plugs are gapped to factory spec .028. Get a logger as soon...
Check the fuses, there´s 3 that go to the battery, one of them i dont remember the name exactly, but if it blows, it takes your power away. Also check the alternator wiring and contact, if it goes bad, the car looses power as well. good luck. :thumb:
You posted on the wrong section. If you replaced the head gasket, did you take the head to a machine shop to have it resurfaced? If you didn´t then there´s no point in just replacing the gasket, most likely the head is warped. Depending on how much and for how long you overheated, you probably...
100$ is ok for a used harness. The replacement really depends on the condition of your actual harness, if its ripped a lot or not, and if visibly it has some tear. If your problem is minor then fixing the harness can save you those 100$. Replacement once again comes to the condition and the...
The easiest way, to fix this is to take the head off, and take it to a machine shop. Let them inspect it, and tell you how much material can be taken off. Only a machinist with the appropiate equipment can fix the problem. Good luck. :thumb:
Obviously you guys, have never seen Wheel repairs. Here in my country, there´s nothing that cant be done. I´ve seen scenarios like this here, being fixed everyday, and if you don´t believe i can upload some more. This is what happens, when you live in a country where human labour is really...
Well, i would suggest you not to try to use a junkyard condenser or anything like that. You can always custom fit one, but why the hassle, if you can have a brand new one on ebay for about 100-130 bucks. And don´t believe this people telling you the ebay condenser would blow up, honestly its...
Huh? evap for emissions? If im not mistaken, guys you should look a little bit closer to the a/c system, the evaporator is part of the a/c system, and has nothing to do with emissions.Edit: Just figured you are not talking about the black box inside the car. Im sorry.
Even stock dsm's have 2 color tones. The lack of taste is what actually makes you a ricer. If you can back it up with power, then that's great, but the interior to me without that blue stuff, did look like a clean car. I know, this is personal preference, but when more than 1 agree, that it just...
Now that you have the car the way you like it, why don't you buy also a type R badge. No offense to anyone, but my personal opinion, is that this kind of examples is why, people keep calling us ricers.
Thats what i thought about the plug. I also noticed that this compressor doesn't have a fill/evac port, like most r12 compressors have (i guess that's for disposal purposes). Ill see what i can do, i've got all the lines, and everything to build it.
I have the montero lines with me so thats no problem. The reason i got this compressor, its because i got it for free, and besides that, im pretty far from the US, just to order a compressor. But im wondering now, how would i go about finding that triangle plug on my harness if there's none. Was...
