5th gear synchro rattling in the hub? I've only heard it on early transmissions though (90's). Jack from Jack's Transmissions did have a thread on it somewhere.
You guys act like the car HAS to have stock narrowband sensor feedback to run... The purpose of the sensor is to provide oxygen content feedback to the ecu for trimming fuel delivery.....that's it.He probably has a CEL for circuit continuity on the sensor itself.. I doubt these early OBDII...
...and why is the chip "bad"? Something caused it. The guy sent you a botched ECU... that didn't even boot. You sent it back. He "fixed some joints". He should have fixed all the copper pads and traces he botched too. Get your money back, buy another ECU, and be happy with your purchase. I...
First off, your 1G does not "prime" the fuel system when you turn the ignition to the "on" position. The fuel pump will not turn on until it sees confirmation from the CAS that the engine is spinning(during a crank event). This assumes that no one has performed some tasteful rewring.Does...
When you're performing a service or being regarded as a rebuilder...you are expected to deliver some level of superior results. Do I know if the ECU functioned properly before the botched work was performed? ..no. But something as hideous as that would not come off of my workbench, let alone...
This is why you don't let idiots do ECU work people. When someone is selling you some "rebuilt" ECU...one that has had socket work or repair work, GET SOME PICTURES FIRST! I feel sorry for the OP, demand your money back. If the person doing the socket can't remove the factory EPROM chip...
I hope this was a joke. IC101 is where the A/D conversion takes place for sensor inputs. Give that IC a good look over (underneath the board too), and its leading traces. From the picture you've posted, there's definitely evidence of acid damage. If the 47uF cap closer to the green...
It's perfectly normal. Taken from www.dsmisc.com:9. The new ISC you shipped me reads 40 Ohms across the coils, not 28-33 ohms. This isn't what the VFAQ, or the OEM manual or other test procedures say.
Yes, because most of the on-line info on DSM ISCs is old and has never been updated...
Eprom ECU and an ostrich (or have a chip burned). I really dislike piggybacks, and have never had the best luck with getting the old maf translators to work properly. My suggestion...use a 2G maf and have a chip burned to alter the maf comp tables and injector global/deadtimes. ...and you can...
OP: You need to get in the car and take some pictures. I see this conversation didn't get any further than the few PM exchanges we had. Noone can help you dignose problems without knowing exactly what they're dealing with. You have 4-5 guys in this thread that burn chips and have been toying...
Did you read the error that ECmlink is giving you? It say that the datalog didn't include "TPSvolts".... go to captured values and add that parameter...
Service manual says to adjust the TPS (no throttle obviously)..to 0.63volts. On your typical dsm logger, this equates somewhere between 9-13%. Probe the output pin of the TPS while it's plugged in with a dmm (in with key-on position). Adjust accordingly. You can also probe this wire on the ECU...
Tach issues are from running a 91-94 ecu in a 90 dsm. Do some further reading before you start tearing into the cluster looking for "loose connections".

As Bob said here, v2.01 is compatible with 1g's and 2g's. Set your dip switches according the the product manual.
2g Maft in a 1g - Full Throttle Speed Tech SupportI have run a 2g maft v2.01 on a 1g this way for years... With that being said, I'd tune SD and Mitsu maf cars over MAFT cars...
Open up the MAFt and see which chip version you have. The older versions, like 1.3, are generation specific. The newer version 2.01 is interchangeable between 1g/2g... You can also order the 2.01 chip if you do have an older v1.3 chip.FULL THROTTLE SPEED - UPGRADE DSM MAFT TO NEW VERSION
Hafe manifold, Tial wastegate... Holset Wh1c. Very very little tap to the water pipe will give you the clearance you need. Sorry for the blurry cell picture. Wastegate hole was welded shut in the exhaust housing.
I've read a simple 60* conical nut is what you're supposed to run. It may be beneficial to contact Kosei. These should be fine. Gorilla Automotive 21133HT - Gorilla Small Diameter Lug Nuts - Overview - SummitRacing.com
I would first suspect a maf sensor issue... At 466ish seconds into the first datalog, you can see the MAFraw signal start to become erratic which may be causing your AFRs to do what you're experiencing. Any reason you went with a GM maf when the 2g maf sensor is perfectly competent?
What was the big rush to install/purchase Link in the first place? :hmm: With your modifications, I see no need to jump into tuning. Step back, and do some reading. We have people on this forum that are quite willing to help someone that wants to help themselves. The trouble is, these...
How accurate is the datalogged AEM value compared to the gauge? If they agree, then it appears you have a bit of work to do... Your DA table is targeting 11.0 for most of your power band, but your actual AFR is right around 11.7... I would flatten the fuel and timing tabs and soley use the DA...
"3g" in no way refers to a "3rd generation Eclipse"...It's just some stupid name that was associated with them. Many prefer the term "revised" lifters since the oiling hole that meets the rocker is larger than the stock hydraulic lifter. I recommend ITM lifters... they're cheaper and are...
Looks like the standard H1C off the early non-intercooled 12V Cummins engine. 7 or 8 blade compressor, it's still 50mm...and they made the exhaust housing huge (21cm^2) instead of running a wastegate. I'm unsure about compressor wheel swaps... if anything the larger H1C compressor should fit...
usenitrouscontrolsfordejontoolbovmod [ECMTuning - wiki]I know many people using the FPS and nitrous controls in ECMlink to make the 1g bov perform very well. Also for anyone else viewing, Jackal also has provisions to control the FPS.
The purpose of that check valve is to stop boost pressure from entering the crankcase ventilation system. Soo....whichever end you CANNOT blow through, will be the intake manifold side.
Thank you Steve. His post should at least be edited to say BTDC and when out of the timing set mode . That'd keep people from trying to set their base timing 15* retarded than stock. :D
Bringing this one back. Is this correct? The tech article below states the following:
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-engine-fuel/312350-how-set-base-timing-without-using-lower-timing-cover.html"7. If you have an adjustable timing light, set it to 5* advanced."Can somebody...
