Are you positive that high boost would mean the wastegate is sticking shut?

Currently running my 98 gsx. Stroked, hx40 external gate with no boost controller.. 14.5 wastegate spring. Car is boosting up to 30psi. Now if the wastegate is openin to early would that cause the boost to keep climbing or would that mean it was sticking shut?

Forgot he had put a built head on it while it was broken.. It was out of time.. No bent valves.. Good to go now.

I have an extra tcu that i took out of a car and tried did the same thing as its doing now.. Slipping really bad. But the tcu back in the other car and it worked fine.

I've seen this similar problem when doing a 6bolt swap into a 2g. You need to go into your dsmlink and in setting i believe switch it to inverted cam sensor..

It did infact spin a rod bearing. I now have the car listed in the parts section as a full part out.

The car developed a knock today, im not sure if its from the head or the block. I'm going to part out or sell the car complete. This is not a forsale add but pm me if anyones interested.

It runs fine but the bov leaks very bad at idle, as soon as you let off the gas it stalls right out. I had to actually adjust the throttle cable so the throttle is slightly open when I let off. I've messed with the biss and it didn't help.

Anyone got any ideas on why the car would fall straight on its face. Would a leaking bov do it even tho its recirculated? It leaks very bad, i have a new one on the way.

Put the dowel pins in the middle facing up, and the mark on the crank at top dead center. Then retake pictures. The dowel pins must be facing up to check timing..

Yeah got it running today, it wont idle at all tho. It is a pacesetter manifold.

Got the head on and the cams swapped today. Put a new oem timing belt and tensioner on. The timing belt jumped due to the pulley that the tensioner bolts to coming lose. I just have to plug everything back in.. I ditched the tubular manifold for a stock ported one. The manifold that was on it...

Got the head pulled and the cyl walls are in excellent shape with no scratches or marks. The pistons took some cyl 1 took some good shots from a valve breaking off and putting some marks in it, I just filled down the marks and it should be lright till I get a 6 bolt for it.

And yes i did get held at gun point in pittsburgh...

If my timing belt and tensioner come in this week, I'll have the car running and I'll do a compression test to see what the numbers are and I'll check the oil for metal flakes.

Don't seem to see a j, I just see what I have pictured above. And as far as the price goes I've spent alot more on a Dsm before and had to replace motors ad trannys. I'm happy with it.

Even if it does have eBay parts, it looks clean and I have 3k worth of receipts that the guy put into it. That might be a eBay fmic but I'm 99% sure that's real greddy piping. Can you give any input on the motor and tranny

I'm in the middle of swapping a motors. I did a 6 bolt-2g head combo. I got everything done and went to put my water pipe on and it didnt go into the water pump enough to bolt the 2g thermostat housing on. So i had a 1g water pipe laying around and it was still about 1/4 off and wouldn't let me...

Hm. my 2g water pipe doesnt slide into the 1g water pump enough to make it fit.

I put a 2g head on a 6 bolt and i am using the 1g water pipe. This would make me use a 1g thermostat housing and i wanted to double check that it would fit on a 2 head. I was told it would. I know they are different looking, i just need to know if it will bolt up.

It says to use the 2g water pipe but it seems to be 1/4 to a 1/2 inch to long. When i put it into the water pump, the thermostat housing is still about 1/2 in away from the head and it wont slide into the water pump any more.

Yeah, So should i get 1g studs and drill the head, Or will the 2g ones fit into the 1g block.
