Did you re-torque the studs after a couple heat cycles before putting big boost to it? I always find that they move around a lil and always need to be re-torqued . Also what do you have them torqued to? Because You blew the hell out of that gasket.
I don't know who built it but it looks bad ass on the car. Only thing is the turbo pushes out on the bumper. So may have to trim it up a lil or just build a different one which will probably happen.
I agree that most DSM's end with part outs but I can promise it will not be parted out. We are gonna try to get it up and running this winter with the part's we have and add what we can as funds permit. Suppose to be heading out to Haltech this week to pick up Sport2000 & custom harness...
We had them built for us by the chassis shop that did the rest of the car. I pretty much designed the whole thing . We have one in each of our cars. Still got 5 left over
Yep still around and in good hands. Any chance you remember what paint you used? We would like to get it close when we repaint the inside and engine bay.
Does it look like it should turn out bad? I'm not a fan of the wing but as for the rest of the car, it is coming together nicelyWe picked it up from the guy in Jersey that originally bought it after the hood came up. We got it for 1200 ,1800 with new hood and a ff header. I'm not sure if he...
This is my Dads 1992 Awd Auto Talon he is buildingBuild consist ofEngine:

I use to be a budget builder and I have actually ran those pistons and they worked fine .Just make sure you tune it and don't advance the timing much on gas.E85 would be better for reliablility
Optic armor has complete sets in different thicknesses.1/8" 3/16" and 1/4".Almost exactly double Summits price but you are getting twice as many pieces.
Check your vacuum lines and connectors to make sure nothing is left unpluged.Sounds like a vacuum leak or you left the mas unplugged or something like that.
I thought about it and I am wrong!!! .When i had compared the two, the auto was actually out of a 97 gsx and the manual was out of a 95 I should of realized that before I made the postSorry about that guys.
If your friend hooked up the jumper cables backwards then more than likely he fried your ECU.Pull the ECU out and open it up and check it out.The car can run with a bad ecu but badly
Did you clean all oil passages in the block prior to build including the one that is goes vertically to the head?
I have seen blocks that the feed going thru the block up to the head will be clogged up with rust and will cause this.
IF somehow you put the head gasket on wrong I would go back...
I personally have opened a auto transfer case and a 5 speed side by side and the auto is much beefier. And I assume it would hold a little more than the 5speed could ,but I've never done any testing to confirm this.Shep said they have the same gear ratio, just different cases but when I read...
I love going to this event and seeing some crazy azz cars.Got to see a car turn on its roof ,3 nitrous explosions back to back in the same lane lol.
Also did anyone see the trailer that had blew the side out .From what I heard they had left a nitrous bottle on the heater and the tank...
I'm pretty sure all the transfer cases all have the same gear ratio .I have actually removed the guts from a 2 auto tc and put them in a 2g 5speed tc .Also The factory auto tc shaft/gears are much more beefier than the 5 speed ones (cheap upgrade) .open them up and you will see what i am talking...
Cool idea and glad you chose to go with the 4g63 powerplant you .but why not just turn the motor sideways up front and put a powerglide in it .I think it would be better balanced for drag racing that way but thats just my opinion.Post pictures ofn the progress.:hellyeah:
That sucks.I would of done everything you did and for it to still not work is confusing.I would just wire it to a toggle switch with 12v trigger or relay and call it a day.Unless someone else knows what is going on??
On all the 1g cars i have owned that boost but dont pull I check the timing and it is always wrong so I just advance the timing with timing light and they come back to life.Usually it is because who ever played with the cas doing a head job or something never set it back in the right place using...
If your other fan is not working fix it esp with ac still on the car. That is more than likely the problem unless you keep driving it causing it to blow a head gasket.
So your only running one fan and running ac?If you are running the ac and have removed the ac fan it will overheat the car.You must run both fans with ac.You beat me too it:banghead:
Easiest way to find a oil leak is to clean everything really good and put the belts back on with out the timing cover on start it up and watch it for a little while with a flash light. If it is leaking pretty steady you should be able to find the leak. The oil pressure could be high because the...
All I can say is wow.lolI have never seen anyone use TP before. But seems like it must of worked for someone before.More power to youI have always removed the pilot bushing by filling it with grease and use the largest socket you can fit in side of it with a extension and a hammer..Dont...
I have paid for these head lights from all these sites and they always refund my money about a week later saying they no longer make them.Good luck.Jeff Bush has a set he is trying to get rid
When the converter bolts back out It makes a nasty sound and will cause the bolts to egg out the holes and it can also chew up the pilot bushing that goes into the end of the crank and on the converter where it slides into the bushing. It will also beat the threads up on the bolts.Have to use...
I can remember on one of the many cars I picked up had super thick gear oil in the trans and it would grind slightly into every gear .Changed the oil out with some Durablend 7590 and the grinding went away.Im not saying changing the oil will fix it.But it could help
