Guys. Like most cars someone had taken the ac off my car sometime in the past, however the last owner put all the hard parts back on. I am just missing the wires to the compressor and the dryer. Someone did a wire tuck in the past and I can’t find them. Does anyone know where the 3 wire...
Does anyone know the bolt pattern for the stock TB? I have searched to no avail. I am changing intakes but the one I am going to has a Accufab on it, no IAC. I want to make an adapter to put my s90 on the intake. I want to cut one today and I wont be back at the car until later. Thanks guys!
Any suggestions on where to contact him? He has not been here since 2017. Im not really a noob but looking for anything that makes it a better car.
Thanks
Im just getting back int the DSM game after being gone awhile, This is my firs one on SD. I have seen all the drama around the whole linktools situation and it sucks. One person ruins it for everyone.
The real question is, is there any way to get/buy a copy of Linktools? It looks like it...
Im in the same boat. Except I never DL it before. I read great things about this. I am just getting back into the DSM game. I have a 2g on SD and I fell like im jumping in the deep end. I read everything I can find but LinkTools sounds like an awesome help. Is there any place to get a...
Has the situation ever changed? Im new to tuning SD and any help at all is awesome? I would love to buy a copy of this it sounds awesome. Just curious. :)
Im looking at this car. Anybody know anything about it?https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/2276043675945907/ThanksIs there any way to actually ID a TRE tranny?
I have the actual Greddy version of this. Mine did the exact same thing(unless your doing full throttle pulls) Mine had 2 springs on the inside to hold the diaphragm down I had to remove a spring and adjust from there. They say that hooking the bottom nipple up will work also, it gets a boost...
No offense but that post makes almost no sense. Everybody in here is pretty big on grammar and spelling, it makes it alot easier to read and under stand what people need/want. Just so you know when you cry for help, use spell check. :)
As far as your problems, search for hunting idle you will...
Where in VA are you at? Most machine shops will stand behind there work where I'm at. But most Reputable machine shops will give you a build sheet and it will take them longer than 3 hours to put a motor together??? That's not even enough time to check all the clearances and assemble, that's...
You can't convert a 1g FWD to an AWD. (within reason) it's not like a 2g where you can just bolt in the rear sub-frame. The 1g AWD/FWD are different chassis. Just a heads up if that's the conversion you were talking about.
Just a shot in the dark but Ive seen this cause weird problems before. Have you checked to see if the Idle switch on the TB is grounding when the throttle is closed?
As mentioned before do a wet test to confirm that it is a cylinder problem.
Just to help you out you need to capitalize your sentences and use periods, as well as spell check. You will find this is one of the strictest forums about using proper grammar and spelling, but it makes the whole forum...
I never said that you were out to destroy someones car, but you did give bad advice. Leaving the shaft in results in the oil having something to resist its flow, the result of that is oil PRESSURE, not just a open hole dumping oil out. Read more carefully it says that the advantage of blocking...
Yea it will be fine. You don't need to do the back balance shaft bearings, just the front two. The jb-weld will be fine, it's the accepted solution to that problem, almost everyone that removes there B/S does it. Good luck.
You might want to read a little closer before you start giving advice like that.
Quote from that page..
The front shaft bearings, however, need to be removed and replaced with the blockoff bearings included in the kit. These blockoff bearings are necessary because the stock bearings have oiling...
Your supposed to block that hole off when you remove the balance shaft. You can either tap it and install a plug or just re-install the bearing with the holes NOT lined up and us that to block the oil pressure. If you don't have the hole blocked of you are losing alot if oil pressure.
Buy a 14b and install it run 15-16psi with rewired pump, or a 190. That was the first step I did on my gst and it was night and day compared to the t-25.
Don't do it in the car. It's not that much more work to pull the motor, and you will get better results. One reason is that when you hone the cylinders you really need to clean the block to make sure that you get all the dust that it creates out.
I would suggest pulling the motor, strip it to...
I think that the cam gears have 48 teeth so one tooth would be 7.5 deg. Dont quote me on the number of teeth. Just take 360 and divide by the number of teeth and that will give you the answer.
54 mins from jacking it up to engine on the ground. This was actually done on a bet with my uncle. I told him I could do it in an hour and he bet me $100 that there was no way. So for that little bit of time I made $100/hr. Wish I could do that more often.
I didnt see a logger listed. If you have one look at the Karman frequency for the MAF. You should also be able to have the SAFC display the Karman freq. coming out of the MAF. Good luck.
Are you sure that the SAFC is hooked up correctly and working? Almost sounds like the ecu is not seeing the MAF signal. Try cutting the power to the SAFC and see if it changes anything. Dont drive it while unhooked but see if the AFR at idle changes at all.
Just a shot in the dark, You are running a MAFT right? IS it getting power while the key is in crank? Alot of switched wire don't have power during crank. Also make sure that your fuel pump re-wire has power while the car is cranking also.
did you but a stubby shaft or cut off the stock shaft in the oil pump. I now a guy that cut the shaft but he forgot to weld the hole in the shaft up. It would never prime all the oil was shooting out the back of the B/S. Just a thought. Good luck
Um a hacksaw is like 5 bucks at home depot go buy one. I have cut them off with a grinder you just have to work your way around the pipe. Pick up a new wheel while you are buying your hacksaw at home depot.
Just run the ssauto intercooler. its cheap and alot of people run them.(including me) Intercooler technology has not changed in 20 years. The name brand ones you are paying for the name. IMO. just my .02
I am a MECP certified installer. you do NOT need to run 2 wires that is what distrubition blocks are made for. Run one good size power wire to the back with those amps one being a class d mon then 4 gauge will be fine. ) gauge would be better if you ever plan on upgrading. terminate the wire in...
I know the 1 g BOV can be modded I have never heard of a 2g BOV being modded to hold more boost. How do you do it?.To the OP get a t-28 and a evo BOV and it will look stock. Unless the inspector is a DSM buff You could probably get by with a 16g. Good luck
Does you motor have a vibration around 3k rpms? It looks like some one took the balance shaft belt off in a half hearted attempt at B/S removal. You either need to replace that belt.(you might as well do the timing belt while your there, it has to come off anyway to get to the B/S belt. Or...
with all the stuff that you have listed why think twice????? ARP studs are under $100 and are good insurance if nothing else. Its a no brainer to me get ARP's
My suggestion is to download a program called OBD gauge and use it. I think it is a better program because its easier to use. I have both programs on my palm and I never use palm-n-stein because the OBD gauge is easier.
Man not to be rude but without a sound clip its kinda like me telling you that the color of my valve cover is not quite red but a little blue mabey a little green with some fuchsia mixed in could you tell me where to get some paint that will match. :)
when the motor was built what was the piston to wall clearance? Piston slap has nothing to do with the valve(or anyything else) hitting the piston. Motors especially forged piston turbo motors are built with alot(when compared to a N/A motor) of clearance between the cylinder wall and the...
My first step would be to find a stock sully, people have had problems out of the underdrive setup. The stock pulley serves as a harmonic balancer the aftermarket pulley doesn't serve this important function. Bottom line why ask for more problems. Just my .02
One of my friends got his hands on a turbo from a sprint, and yes its SMALL. He fabbed it up and used it to turbo his 750cc motorcycle. it worked real good for that.
Where are you getting this info?? I know people that run 25+psi(or more) with supporting mods on a stock motor and head. I have never heard of a valve"head" melting and causing motor failure.
IFit makes you feel any better I spun #1 and just replaced the bearing, I drove it for over 5000 miles while I built my other motor. The funny part is when I pulled it back out #1 wasn't in much worse shape than the rest of them. One thing that I think helped is I ran thick oil (20-50) and...
