Line it up where it needs to be, mark it in 2-3 places with a sharpie, pull the compressor cover off and send them to me. I'll tig weld it for you. Wont blow off then. ;)
Sounds goofy, and simple I know, but my Z28 has done the same thing twice. The first time the fuse for the gauges blew and it wouldnt fire. The second time the plugs had just gotten fouled and wouldnt let it start. I'd change the plugs, and try it out.
^^That's what I was thinking. You have about 10 worth of scrap metal there, good luck trying to get 300 bucks out of it. That might end up being on one of these "best of c-list" threads about people selling junk for outrageous prices.
I'm helping a buddy of mine promote some cruise-ins this summer. They're going to be at Mayhew Chevrolet in Romney WV the 3rd Saturday of the month Jun-Sept. All makes/models welcome. There'll be 50/50 drawings, great food, a DJ etc.
Hey guys, it's about that time again. Who'd be down for a meet at Dixon sometime in April? Most of the Saturdays/Sundays are Test and Tune. What's everyone's schedule look like? Let's pin down a date, then we'll start an attendance list. I'm thinking either the 16th/17th
Once you get your hands on the Link, their forums will provide a weatlh of knowledge. You'll be able to find plenty of base maps there. Everyone there is more than willing to help those who are willing to learn.
I'll be the first to admit I took the easy way out. But, it's alot more fun than wrenching every weekend on a car that might go 11's, then 12's, then maybe 13's, then back to 11's. This car runs the number every time, no fuss. It'll be here when you're finished, if you dont take too long...
Pics of the buck, or it didnt happen. J/K, man that sucks. I had a deer run into my old Camaro while I was sitting still, and it did almost 2k worth of damage. That's why I blast all of them I can.
FWIW, I drilled and tapped both factory holes in mine to accept 3/8 to -8 adapters. You have to step down with the hole a little bit, but it works fine.
When I had power steering still, I took a cheapo wrench and heated it up and bent it so it'd fit. I also at one point milled a section of the ps bracket off to get to it. It's a b!tch either way. I think I still have my milled bracket if you'd be interested.
